Well…running a bit late this morning with not getting out of bed til 7…only woke up once at 4 so I think I can consider that a good night…need to get moving here in a half hour or so to get two rides in before the rain comes in this afternoon…might plant some beans and peppers before that since it’s not supposed to storm and I need to get that done…I was looking forward to having a day off yesterday but it didn’t happen…the storms that were forecast didn’t happen and I should be used to that by now…I have a green pepper in the fridge that I am going to strip the seeds out of and plant…could use as many green peppers as I can get since none of them survived last year….didn’t get much done but planting the tomatoes yesterday and today will probably be much the same…there is soccer on today but I really don’t care much about it with Man U losing yesterday…damn they have been stinking up the place lately…have been treating a plantar wart on my left foot and the band aid I put on it let me walk without pain for the first time in quite a while…damn, I hate getting old….not much to do today…I am bone tired today and should rest but you know I won’t….going to drag myself out and get going soon…but I’m not sure if I’m going to like it….more later…
This is weird…
Well…I notice something shaving this morning and getting ready to shower after the bike rides…for the first time since I was in my 20’s I can see my collar bones with all of the weight I’ve lost…and that is really strange for me…one bad thing I saw was that I am starting to get deep lines on my face as I lose weight, too…and now I really do look my age I think…oh, well…I did get some plants planted today with putting 8 tomato plants in and some others, too…have lots of stuff coming up in the trial end of the garden where I’m putting in stuff that I’ve never grown before but I forgot to do a map of it so I’m just going to have to wait to see what is where…and that will be fun…and I planted a potato that has sprouted and I have another one to cut up….need to go out and put cups over the tomatoes since it may storm tonight….

Well…I sometimes comment on other countries even though ours is quickly becoming a war zone with daily deadly shootings but that is not what this is about..I wanted to talk about the 150 million pounds that the British government spent on king chuck’s coronation over the past week…and that dovetails nicely where I read that the UK has over 2500 food pantries in a country half the size of Michigan where almost 50% of of the population goes since they can’t afford enough food after the stupidity of brexit and the ruling tory party (or conservatives) doesn’t care that their people are starving and losing their homes…so I have a suggestion…since king chuck is worth billions, do you think he might match the taxpayer money spent on his stupid coronation and help people be able to eat…150 million pounds would buy a lot of food…now I get a lot of news on Mastodon from the UK and it’s heartbreaking to read of people my age who have had to give up their pets since they can’t afford to feed and take care of them anymore…no wonder the liberals and green party took almost a 1,000 local seats from the conservatives in the election last week…just like here in the states, you can’t trust any conservative to care about people…just stealing everything that is not nailed down…and sometimes they even steal the nails….geez…
May 7th
Well…that was better…slept through most of the night and didn’t get out of bed til 6:21…had some dreams that blew away before I could remember them as I normally can…I wonder if I’m going to have to suffer a night of bad sleep before I can have a good one? Seems to be the pattern right now and it’s wearing on me….had an okay day but my first wet one on the bike and that was not pleasant…the wind has been crazy out here…okay, no…it’s been normal from my experience…it always blows like crazy out here….but it appears to have moderated some overnight..we were supposed to get storms all night and all day today but the radar says otherwise and I may even be able to get out on the bike today…don’t know if I should…could use a day off but do need to make up for the week off that is coming up after the next biopsy on the 22nd….have to figure out meals for the next few days and get something out of the freezer…had a pork chop and two soft tacos yesterday and that left me under 1K calories for the day and I’ll take that…have a damn plantar wart on my left foot that is making it painful to walk that I am treating with some wart remover and hope I don’t have to have it burned off like the last time…not much to do today…was really looking forward to a day off today and to be forced to rest but the storms are doing what they seem to do a lot…splitting Muskegon and going to the north and south….but I’m going to ease into it with more coffee and some soccer…more later….
Best laid plans…
Well…when today started, I had a lot of plans that involved two rides and replanting the garden but that went all to hell after the first ride…it was brutal and cold coming back into a 20 mph wind and it took me hours to warm back up again…and now I sit here sweating…and it’s been raining off and on since I did the first ride at 7:15 to miss the first wave…so now I wait…have decided to wait on the garden until Tuesday with thunderstorms forecast for tonight, tomorrow, and Monday and I want to give these plants a chance to acclimate before they get pounded…damn, I am no good at waiting, that’s for sure…a wasted day to me that I could be accomplishing things if the weather would cooperate…okay, deep breaths…nothing I can do about that but wait….crap…oh, well…here’s the weird thing…it’s raining and my back windows are wet but it’s not raining hard enough to wet anything else hardly…at least it’s over 60 out here…much better than the 54 when I went out early…
Eight take immunity deals…
Well…I know I’ve been saying for quite a while now that the idiot trump is in deep legal shit down in Georgia, and it got just a bit deeper yesterday with the announcement by Fani Willis that 8 of the fake electors involved in trying to steal the election have taken immunity deals in exchange for their testimony…and these kinds of deals are not offered lightly and the lawyer for the defendants has been sanctioned for trying to keep the deals from them, knowing what they know and how potentially damaging that evidence will be to people farther up the chain…so, it appears to me that she is going after people like Mark Meadows and any number of lawyers from that time in the WH…and by extension, I think she is going after idiot boy since some of the conspiracy meeting were held in the WH…and if they were there, trump was in on it…this sure sounds like a RICO law violation to me…and that is 20 years in the slammer…go get ’em, Fani….geez…
May 6th
Well…damn, that sucks…woke up at 4:13 and didn’t get back to sleep so out of bed before 6 and that is with staying up later than normal for me…so I’m going to be dragging all day and have too much to do for that…I can get out on the bike as soon as it gets light since it is already 57 out there and I should be able to get the second one in by 10…I am going to have to take the day off the bike tomorrow with the build up up niggling little pains that are in my legs…even my Achilles tendons are stiff and hurt and I already have the heating pad on my right thigh since that hurt the worst yesterday….didn’t get a lot done yesterday but need to do better today and will try with planting some of the garden after the rides…it is supposed to storm tonight and through Monday so I hope the new plants survive it….will get tomatoes. beans, and peppers in and I forgot that I need to make pockets of potting soil to transplant them into so they will get a head start…forgot to do that with the first batch and I think that is part of why they didn’t take….not much to do today….just need the coffee to start working right now…the birds are already banging on the feeder and it’s just light….not looking forward to riding this morning….sure hope the wind is not blowing to hard today….more later…

Well…had a good day today but didn’t get a lot done…other than the rides and meeting up with K over in Coopersville…hadn’t seen her in two years and it was nice to catch up…so now I have to plan for getting off my butt tomorrow and getting the garden planted…or replanted since the plants downstairs are big enough and the lowest temp is going to be in the 40’s from now on…I hope….damn, I still need to go down and take care of the plants and make ice…
Never more corrupt…
Well…I know I’ve talked about the corruption of the Thomas’s a fee times now but damn, the hits keep on coming on an almost daily basis…and there has been no one on the court in it’s history who has been more corrupt than Clarence Thomas. Today’s scandal is about an out and out bribe that Leonard Leo paid to Ginni Thomas…this guy is the one who has made it his life’s work to corrupt the US court system with unqualified hack judges who won’t follow the law but will rule in favor of repubs special interests…I guess now we know what a SC ruling is worth to this guy who paid ginni 80K over the course of a year where Thomas voted to gut the voting rights act that gave repubs across the country the green light to gerrymander the hell out of red states so no dem can ever win there….and this is on top of the other times Thomas took a half million dollar vacation and another when a rich donor bought his mom’s house and is letting her live there for free…so yeah, we’ve never seen corruption this blatant…but have the repubs said a word about it? Nope nothing at all…they are just fine if one of theirs is a crook and they continue to get the rulings they want…impeach this crook…geez…
May 5th
Well…darn, forgot to hit the timer button on the coffee maker last night so I have cold, leftover coffee this morning…but the microwave is right next to it so I think I’ll survive…slept okay last night but I’m pretty worn out and feeling old…I did do a lot yesterday so that may have something to do with it…got two rides in and mowed the lawn and I think I’m going to try to get three in today since I don’t have anything to do but meet up with K over in Coopersville at 4…I did make sausage tacos yesterday and they came out good…I am dreading the day that I run out of the 10 lbs of sausage and don’t have anything new to try…but that will be a while and I have a tray of pork chops to use….the weather is finally going to turn over the next few days and we may even get to 70 for a couple…still not ready to declare that spring has sprung but it will be nice to get out in the yard and replant the garden…I think I’m going to be in slow mode for a while but it’s warm enough to get out on the bike by 8….and that will set me up for 45 miles by noon…not sure if eating two meals yesterday was a good idea but I know I felt a lot better after I did….so maybe I should be smarter about how many calories I take in…not much to do today…just riding, riding, riding….more later…
