Well…if it wasn’t such a serious subject, I’d be laughing my butt off about the latest news of repub voter fraud…this time, a company the repubs hired to do voter registration in Florida was found to be submitting fake forms and just making people up…now, this is bad enough but what are going to do with the fakes they have submitted? Is the next shoe that is going to drop that they have hired fake folks to use these registrations to fraudulently vote? I find this whole voter fraud thing to be the worst sort of projection by the repubs…they can’t find any real fraud so they are creating it so they can point to it and say aha? Then we have a Florida house member that has tried to pull the same crap that Bolger and Schmidt tried here in Michigan…running fake candidates as dems but the guy in Florida even went so far to run the fake dems campaign and then promise him a job in his office when he loses. I wonder if this is part of the play book that the repubs have gotten from ALEC? These guys know that in a fair election they are going to lose so they are lying and cheating again…or I should say still…geez…

One more short one on fact checkers…
Well…this one struck me as I read the angst in the fact checker sphere when the stats say they have fact checked the repubs more than the dems in this election cycle…with one of them going so far to say they have put a moratorium on fact checking Michelle Bachmann since everything she says is a lie and it skews the statistics…but, I think there is is a very simple reason for this discrepancy between the two parties…the repubs just lie more! The dems still try to tell the truth and use actual arithmetic to analyze budget plans while the entire right wing world is based on faith and belief that things are so when they are not…reinforced by a right wing media that allows and even encourages the lies…I have never seen a campaign like Romney’s where the lie has the same weight as the truth…geez…
Here’s the difference…
Well…I think things are starting to turn in the election and I do believe that it comes down to the competing visions that the two parties have for the country…the dems have a vision of possibilities and a greater future with fighting for the middle class while the repubs have a vision of a diminished America of going backwards on the rights of citizens and giving more and more away to corporations and the rich. The American people are starting to see the repubs for who they are and they don’t like it…they don’t like ole Mitt trampling on the memories of the 4 Americans killed in Libya and they don’t like that he appears more and more like he is in no way near ready to be president….and the media is starting to call them on their vagueness and lies…I am really starting to have hope that the repubs are being seen for what they are…they are not like the rest of us to be sure…
Here’s a conspiracy theory for you…
Well….I was just thinking about a few things, mostly the whole idiot Romney statement and came up with this thought: what if this whole thing is a plan by the repubs to inflame the middle east so they then can criticize Obama for being weak? After seeing how Fox covered it yesterday and today, it appears that this might be what is happening…although I am loathe to give the repubs any credit for having any intelligence at all…just a thought…
Talk about denial…
Well…some good news after the Dem convention where it appears that Obama got a 6 point bump as compared to none for ole Mitt…and he is now up by 5-6 points across the country including Ohio and Pennsylvania where the repubs thought they would win in a walk…and the repubs only response is that it is a “sugar high” from the convention and they are really ahead…what I think has happened is that the repub convention was based on lies and the people in this country are starting to see that, while the dem convention was based on a shared vision of America that is what it used to be….and can be again if we keep ole Mitt out of the White House…these are going to be short…kind of like tweets so I can get caught up…
Here’s a question…
Well…just had a thought pop into my head as I was skimming through the online papers a few minutes ago…with ole GW becoming invisible in the party due to his toxicity to the American people, to the point that he was only at the convention on video, why are all of the economic ideas that the repubs have presented just re-runs of what ole GW inflicted on the country? I know most Americans have short memories, but do they really believe that we can’t remember 2008? It just shows you that the modern repub party is devoid of new ideas and doesn’t have the capacity to understand what is necessary for the country to move forward…geez…
Just some stuff….
Well…haven’t really thought of a topic for this afternoon so it looks like it’s noodling time again…haven’t commented on the Clint Eastwood debacle from the convention…but Jon Stewart did a funny bit on his show about the absurdity of it all…and I don’t know how anyone could have called the speech that Romney delivered anything but pedestrian…no vision, no fire, no conviction…the guy is just a stiff…and there was no bounce from the convention so far so ole Mitt looks like he is in trouble…poor boy….it has been a day of getting ready for the trip but I’m almost done already so that is okay….what else? Let me go out and look at the papers for a minute and I’ll come back to see if I can come up with something…nope…nothing right now so I’ll stop and think for a while and then come back…
One last thing…the polls are showing that ole Mitt’s speech was the lowest rated one since they have been keeping records…I guess I was right about that one…
Jerry Ford is spinning in his grave…
Well…reading the news this morning, I see there is a love-fest going on for Jerry Ford at the repub convention in Florida this week and all I could think of is that Jerry must be spinning in his grave. In today’s repub party, Jerry would never even get nominated with the right wing ideologues that have taken over and driven the party into a caricature of what it was when Jerry was in Washington. All of the things Jerry stood for…putting the country above party, compromise to get the best solution for the most people, and for the fairness that used to be what this country stood for is now anathema to the idiots that are the supposed statesmen and “brains” of the party. Jerry would laugh at Ryan, Romney, McConnell, Palin, Bachmann and the rest of them….he would rightly say that these are small politicians who have never understood what true conservatism is and who have no clue that government is compromise; not the scorched earth combat they have turned it into. He would laugh at the tea party idiots and their “keep your damn government hands off my Medicare” slogans and dismiss them as the destructive force they are…he would laugh at how easily they are manipulated by the big money interests that have as their agenda the destruction of the jobs that the tea partiers now have….
Jerry Ford was a man of integrity, honor, and duty that the idiots like Ryan and Romney could never stand next to and I find it personally offensive that the congressman that I voted for, that I held up as the model for how to govern is being used by these charlatans to make themselves look like they are the same, moderate party that Jerry belonged to….shame on you…geez…
I just can’t believe this crap…
Well…it has been a day in politics…not a lot happened but we did have the tone-deaf ole Mitt spout in Michigan that “no one ever asked me for my birth certificate” and I’m not sure what he was getting at…did he mean that this is a difference between he and Obama that should matter in the election? It appears that ole Mitt has embraced the crazy-assed right wing of the repub party…no, that’s wrong…the whole republican party is a crazy-assed right wingers and all Mitt was doing was playing to the birthers. I hope he keeps this crap up because it is defining himself as one of the fringe…one other thing, the head of the repub party is tacitly admitting that the repub platform to be adopted at the convention is so far right it only appeals to the very right base by saying the the platform belongs to the repub party and not ole Mitt…how the hell does that work? Is Mitt not part of the repub party? I just love seeing them contort themselves to justify the craziness…this kind of stuff used to only happen with the real fringes like the John Birch Society…and now it is the repub party…geez…
Just a little noodling…
Well…I’ve been sitting here thinking about what to write for the second one of the day and have had no luck…so, that means I have to just wander around a bit and see what happens…I think I’ll go out to the Post and try to find something…okay…no luck…so I’ll pose a question…why is work taxed at a higher rate now than investment? Why shouldn’t all income be treated the same? Why should a billionaire who makes his money through investment pay 14% while the worker sweating in a foundry or auto plant pays 30%? I think it all has to do with the lack of respect the repubs have for workers as evidenced by all of the ways they have tried to hurt them over the years. The Ryan budget would do more of the same…give more tax breaks to the rich while raising our taxes…doesn’t anyone else see this as immoral? This, coming from the party that holds themselves out as the morally superior one…the family values party…since when did stealing the whole country for the rich become a family value? And, when did women agree to give up all of their rights to their own bodies when they become pregnant as the repubs are putting in their platform….I am getting a little tired of pointing this stuff out to people…but, if not me, who? geez…
