Well…man, I’m worn out this morning but I am surprised that my elbow and shoulder don’t hurt more than they do after abusing them yesterday….it appears to be pretty cold out there right now with the temp only 28 degrees and a big storm coming tomorrow….we are going to be on the rain side of it but they are forecasting 30 inches of snow on the other side and I am not ready for it to start snowing…the waves are supposed to be 5-10 feet with winds of 30-40 mph so I may have to take a drive out to the beach to see them…it may be the perfect day to take off the bike or to ride downstairs but we’ll see….slept okay last night but must have slept on my right eye since it is puffy and I had to massage it to get the swelling down…geez, I hate getting old…I do need to do the grocery run this morning but I’m going to do it close today…need to check for tubes for the bike and the other Meijers didn’t have any Monday…going to eat out of the freezer for the next two weeks to clear it out to make room for turkey and the carcass for soup….I can’t pass up turkey at 33 cents a pound but I’m not getting it til next Friday so it will have the right time to thaw before t-day….not much to do today….just the grocery run and getting at least one bike ride in…I think I’m going to clean the fridge today since I haven’t cleaned it since I move in here and it could use it….I do need to manage how much I do every day as I get older but I sure don’t like that…running the trimmer/edger yesterday took a lot out of me and it shouldn’t…and that pisses me off….more later…

Well…okay, you know I’m a big music geek and love Neil Young and Led Zeppelin, and what I just saw surprised the hell out of me….when I was reading one of my news sites, I came across a video of Neil and Zeppelin doing a live version of “When the levee breaks” and it even had Robert Plant playing guitar…and it was just so cool to see these guys having so much fun and Neil being Neil…now, this is something I would pay big bucks to see…in the same article it alluded to a collaboration between Donald Fagen and David Crosby….now I need to go look for that…
Got some work done…again….
Well….this is getting to be a habit and I’m not sure if I like it or not….I really had planned to just ride the bike twice and then take the rest of the day off with all the work I got done yesterday….but, it was almost 60 out here and I had one last thing to do to the yard that I do at the end of every fall…I like to clean the yard up and take the string trimmer to everything and then edge the sidewalks…and I have a lot of walks to do both around the house and out front and it really hurt my right elbow and shoulder…but I did get the trimmer head figured out and didn’t have to take it apart once doing the whole yard…and it’s going to rain for a few days and get cold starting thurs so I needed to get this done today….I really do like having the garage organized…it is just much easier to get around and it is nice to have specific places to put things so I don’t have to think about where they go….oh, on day two and still no birds at my feeder…the last time I put one up it took about two weeks for the birds to find it…but once one does, it should fill up pretty fast…one last thing…the chickens are back…fun…
It finally is infrastructure week….
Well….the dems first big bill has been passed and it is finally, really infrastructure week….not the joke that it was for the past 4 years under the idiot boy…and there was even a few repubs that voted for it, too….this 1.7 trillion dollar bill will get started on fixing the roads, bridges, airports, and every other part of the things that make this country run…along with that, there is money for lead water pipe replacement for the entire country along with broadband internet for underserved areas…but, as always, the repubs are so terrified of the dems being able to run on getting things done for the people of the country that they have started to lie about it…both taking credit for the bill while voting against it and saying that only 11% of the money is going to “real” infrastructure, whatever that is….but it just more of the same sour grapes that always comes from them when the dems get something done…just like they did for the ACA or Obamacare. Now, they need to get moving on the second bill and include the expansion of Medicare that will then cover dental, vision, and hearing care that is supported by 84% of Americans….but that doesn’t matter to Manchin and Sinema…they still don’t want to help people since their owners don’t want it…and that is pretty sick…geez…
November 9th
Well…feel like crap this morning and I think I overdid it with all of the work yesterday…sitting here last night I felt like my body was made out of rice krispies…all snap, crackle, and pop as I moved and that was a little weird….not doing that this morning but I am still sore and just want to sit here for a while…I may have to take it easy today and I would like a day off at some point….it would be a luxury to just do nothing and watch tv all day but that is just not something I have the capability to do….maybe when it’s snowing….even with the wind blowing pretty hard yesterday, it was nice to get out and ride in shorts but that is coming to and end over the next few days…going to get cold Friday…and it looks like there is a shower out there right now so I won’t be on the bike for a while…..and I’m okay with that this morning…have been thinking about whether I should do a turkey for t-day this year…haven’t been happy with how they turned out the past couple of years but how do you pass up protein for 33 cents a pound….I mean a 15 pounder for around 4.50? Will have to clear out the freezer before that to have room to freeze the leftovers so I can’t buy anything for the next two weeks….want to make chili soon and probably should take the burger out for that today….not much to do today….the leaves haven’t fallen much so I don’t have yard work to do so I think I’ll clean some today…need to try some test stripping to see what path the inside work is going to take…..want to see if I can salvage the hardwood floors in the bedrooms and get the adhesive off them….but that will be later…need more coffee…and more coffee…and more coffee….more later…
Another busy one…
Well…darn, another busy, busy day but I got a lot accomplished so that’s okay…started out with the first ride at 8 and then out to run errands to get the stuff I needed to do the projects I had planned, then back on the bike for ride number two and made some lunch…after that, I got the bird feeder put up and filled it and found a bucket to keep some of the feed in so I don’t have to lug a 40 pound bag in and out….then I patched the slits in the top of the car and got started on organizing the garage to make room for my new grill…bought a bunch of hooks to hang stuff on and got everything up off the floor…now it looks like a hardware store with everything on display…oh, and I put the other handgrip on the bike since I really like how the right one feels and now everything matches again….then one final thing, I bought some tube patches and patched up two tubes for the bike that I had downstairs…they’ve never worked too well but I can’t find any 26 inch tubes anywhere so I guess I’ll have to try amazon….and it’s now 4:35 and I’ve been going for 8 1/2 hours and I’m tired…so, I’m done for the day….no more later…oh, one more thing…they started prepping the lot across the street for a new house today and cleared a bunch of brush but now I can see the trashy rental the next street over…I sure hope the new house blocks that out….
The Koch’s are at it again….
Well….how damn dumb do you have to be to think the most important thing to do with your time is go out and protest against something that doesn’t exist? That’s just what it happening with all of the non-degreed white women who elected a trump clone for governor of Virginia….and have been polled that critical race theory was the most important thing that got them to vote for the repub….and they don’t want it taught to their children…which it isn’t in any school across the country. So, why would they think it is? It’s the Koch’s again who have set up an interlocking network of “news” organizations. podcasts, and rallies that use that non-existent theory to stir up the racist whites and keep them agitated by bombarding them with crap like “all white kids are racist” according to the theory and that is what is going to be taught to them if CRT is allowed into the schools….and one of the messages that is repeated by this network is that slavery wasn’t that bad and it wasn’t whites fault since every race has owned slaves in the past. If you remember, it was the Koch’s who were behind the astroturf tea party that came into being after Obama was elected…and that was no coincidence…they know they can gin up outrage in these people since they are primed for it by fox news, sinclair, and the rest. My question is history is history, shouldn’t kids be taught the truth? That this damn country was built on the backs of slaves and racism is still pretty prevalent…how do you fix something if you don’t let kids see the truth? I feel bad for people who are being used as foot soldiers in this war on progress in this country….but they have a responsibility to seek out the truth and it is just lazy on their part to take the easy path and just let fox news rot their brains….geez….
November 8th
Well…up at 5:15 this morning…or is it 6:15? Out of bed at 7 or is it 8? Still doing the time conversions in my head and that will probably continue through the day after the time change….slept okay last night but feel pretty run down right now but that is getting to be normal…I did get two rides in yesterday and will do that again today since it is already 54 out there but windy so it could be brutal…and I’ll be out in shorts again and that is cool for the second week of November…I did get my new handgrips and bird feeder yesterday and I put one of the handgrips on the bike to try it out this morning since the right grip was loose and easy to get off…will have to cut the left one off but want to make sure I like them before I do that….I do have errands to run this morning, too, since I need hooks to hang stuff in the garage to get ready to get my new grill and I am going to try some new repair material for the top on the car since the stuff I bought earlier cracks too easily…and then I need to get a new tube for the bike and the repair kit to try to fix the two tubes downstairs and get some food to fill the feeder…so I have a pretty busy day today that I need to get started on here pretty soon….more later…
They really do want to kill children…
Well…those asshole repubs really do want to kill children and leading the charge is the supreme asshole, Ted Cruz. Just today when someone posted a quote from Big Bird on twitter that he had gotten his covid vaccine and the innocuous comment that it would “give his body an extra protective boost that keeps me and others healthy”…and I’m sure this is part of the rollout of the vaccine for children 5 years old and up that started this week and is trying to put the kids at ease about it…but ole ted had to weigh in with his corrosive assholeness when he replied: “government propaganda for your 5 year old”….now, why does he and all repubs want children to die? By tweeting this out to his followers, he is going to kill at least a few children whose parents are on the fence about the vaccine…I know that if I had young children we would have been first in line to get them vaccinated just like with the MMR vaccine and the polio vaccine…and the third shot of the covid vaccine and flu vaccine that I got a few weeks back…and I didn’t do it because I’m scared of covid…although I am…but I got them because it is my duty as a citizen to help protect everyone else and stop the spread of covid…if it protects me too, so much better…how do these assholes live with themselves?

Well….have been running since 8:30 or so this morning but I’m done for the day now….or, I may be back for a political one later if I find a topic…had a flat on the bike but at the best place to have one…just as I was turning into the alley and luckily I had a spare downstairs…the hole was on the inside again so I added another layer of electrical tape to the rim and I hope that fixes it…I am going to get some patching stuff this week just to see if I can save a little cash since every tube costs about 7 bucks and I can get a patch kit for about 5….but they never really worked before but I need to try something…have two old tubes downstairs that I can practice on so we’ll see…oh, and I got two rides in and worked my butt off on both of them and it felt good….I should go out and clean the glass on the car but I don’t feel like it right now….and the F1 race starts in a half hour…I wonder if I can do it in that time? Let’s give it a try….more later….
