Well…man, I feel run down this morning…but I did make it all the way til 6 with not waking up so I guess that’s something….and the shoulder that I got the vaccine in is better…yesterday I had pain all the way down my arm to my wrist which is not much different than when I get a flu shot so no big deal…and I got scheduled for the second dose on the 14th of Feb and a week after that I should have full immunity….I sure hope I do since I have to move soon after that…my stress levels have started to decline a bit with getting the news that I am approved for the loan for the house…I am meeting with the mortgage broker today to sign the papers and give him my financial information….but then I have a few weeks to pack and take it easy until the final push to get moved….I do need to clean this place up since the broker is coming here today but I have all day for that and it should only take a couple of hours…it snowed last night so it looks like no bike ride today…I was a little relieved when I rode yesterday that the lube fixed the problems I was having with the drive train but the shifter was frozen up after washing it and putting it in the garage…but that fixed itself after a couple of miles and I got a nice ride in….not much to do today…just cleaning and hanging out but that is all I really want to do right now…more later…
Yow…
Have been running around all day getting the paperwork necessary to get the loan for my new house…and I am approved for the loan by the way…and when I was in the car I noticed that hmmmm…it had no gas in it after running out to Hastings and then to Muskegon and back and doing errands…so I stopped at the new gas station at the end of Valley to fill it up…to explain the yow, the gas tank on the car holds 10.9 gallons of gas and when done, I had put almost 10.6 gallons in it…so I had about a quart of gas left in the tank…probably shouldn’t run it down that far anymore with the car getting older and the tank probably has some crap in it that I don’t want to suck up in the pump….this was by far the most gas I’ve ever put in it at one time…so again…yow…
I guess when you run out the clock, it’s all good…
Well…hey, I guess the new word from the supreme court is that if you run out the clock until you’re out of office, it’s all good and you won’t be held responsible. Just today, the SC dismissed multiple lawsuits against the idiot boy for violating the emoluments clause of the constitution (you know the one where an elected official is not supposed to take money from outside the government while in office that trump did every damn day)…saying that the suits were “moot” since he is no longer in office….giving him a pass on all of the bribes he got by renting rooms in his hotels at inflated prices to foreign governments and from these same governments renting office space at one of his buildings. Now, I think the SC missed an important chance to clarify what is legal and not legal in the way of these direct payments and you have the trump crony justices to thank for it…I guess he did finally get some “help” from his justices…they just saved him from having to pay all that money back…what a bunch of crooks….
January 25th
Well….that’s a little better…slept all the way through til 6:45 but I am still exhausted….and my shoulder hurts where I got the shot yesterday but it’s no worse than a flu shot so I may live….I think I’m more mentally exhausted than anything else…looking for and buying a house is a lot of work and there is more to come with the closing that will be coming up this week…I just need one more day of doing nothing to recover from the shot and the stress…with the snow yesterday, I didn’t get on the bike but I did get the drive train lubed so it won’t make that awful popping and grinding sound it was making sat….and I may have to do a double ride today since I won’t be getting on the bike tomorrow with the snow that is on the way…possibility of 6 inches of snow overnight tonight so I think I’ll just hunker down here and do nothing for a day or so…don’t need to do the grocery run tomorrow with someone winning the big mega jackpot Friday so I’ll wait til my normal day on wed…not much to do today…going to just take it easy and have more coffee and start to think about packing….more later….
Got my first vaccine…
Well…went out and got my first vaccine dose this morning and it was pretty painless…both in the process and the actual shot. Got there at 9:45 and was back here by 10:30 and the worst part was the drive out and back with the roads pretty greasy…they had a dozen vaccination stations and were moving people through pretty fast and I think this is the first shot ever that I didn’t feel at all…they must have super sharp needles or something…and I got the PFizer vaccine and a card that shows that I am vaccinated and will probably put that in my wallet from now on. Have to wait three weeks for the next one and then I’m done…it’s been an hour and 15 minutes and no adverse effects so I guess I’ll make it…
January 24th
Well…damn, another 4:54 morning and I tossed and turned all night so I am just worn out today…and I still have to complete my check in online for my first vaccine dose that I am getting at 9:45 this morning…still have a lot of stress now that I have a house and need to work out the logistics of getting the rest of the closing done and start planning the move….still going to be close to be out of here by the 14th of March but I think it can be done…need to get out on the bike today after just doing a short one yesterday since the drive train needs lube to quiet it down and I need to do that before I go out to get my shot this morning so it will be dry for the ride this aft…man, I could take a nap right now….and my heel has started to hurt again for some reason and I’m just shaking my head about that…and I have gained some weight with not riding…even with not eating much and that sucks….not much to do today…can I take a day off after the shot? I sure need one and I think the stress level is going to continue to rise until I am completely moved…but then I’m going to take a couple of months off as I get used to the new digs…more later…
I got the house…
Well… just got a text from my brother that my offer was accepted…so I have a house! Still a lot of stuff to do but it is such a relief that I have a place to land….my emotions are all over the place but I am looking forward to figuring out a new town and riding my bike over to Lake Michigan to swim this summer….it’s not much but it’s mine and I look forward to working on the lawn and sitting on the porch with the windows open when it’s raining…and growing some tomatoes….and knowing I never have to move again….lots of work to do but, as I’ve said before, I have one more house in me….still won’t sleep tonight….I need a cocktail…
Scheduled for the vaccine…
Well…just got a surprise text from Spectrum health that I could schedule my first dose of the covid vaccine for tomorrow morning! I am a little excited about getting it and the protection it provides…and I thought I was going to have to wait a long time to get it but that will make it the first week of Feb to get the second one and get to the 95% immunity it provides….man, that takes a load off my mind and I’ll be part of the solution to get this damn thing behind us….Yay!
Fingers crossed
Well…just got back from looking at the house and my brother is going to put an offer in this morning…pretty nice house…new roof, windows, furnace, water heater and the basement is painted and clean…quiet neighborhood and a double lot with a porch on the front that is enclosed…and the neighborhood is in transition with new houses going up just across the alley at the back…and it’s only a mile to the bike trails that go all the way to Montague and it’s only a mile and a half to Lake Michigan and the state park and a city park on the water…so there will be swimming! They are asking 80K but my offer is going to be 90K to make sure I get it….and even with that my payment is only going to be 500 bucks a month including taxes and insurance…it does need some work but it’s just stuff I can do like painting…and I do need to buy a washer but there is a dryer and kitchen appliances that work so I don’t need to buy those….oh, and it has a garage with an opener so I don’t need to buy that…needless to say, I’m pretty excited…and I do have my fingers crossed….
January 23rd
Well….another 5 am morning and I am really tired…and driving a hundred miles yesterday didn’t help…and the house I drove out to look at in Hastings was a dump so it was a total waste of my time…but, I have an appointment to look at one out in Muskegon this morning that just came on the market yesterday and looks pretty good…only 80K but I think I’ll go over that if it looks as nice as the photos…small house on a double lot with a garage and an immaculate basement…it’s an estate sale and the people who lived there were there for 50 years and took great care of it…and it’s only a mile and a half from Lake Michigan in an area where they are building new houses to replace the old ones…but, the whole thing is paneled and looks very 70′s…can live with that if the rest of it looks okay…so, obviously, I didn’t get anything done yesterday and it was too cold to ride the bike so I need to get out today when I get back here….my heel is almost done hurting and that is a relief after how long it has been driving me nuts….not much to do today…probably be depressed since someone won the Mega last night and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t me…darn….could be a home owner today…wish me luck…
