Well…yeah, I know, haven’t been here much to do political ones over the past few days with being so busy, but I decided to give myself a day off today since I am just worn out so that gives me time to come here and talk about that stupid speech the fourth grader president gave on the fourth of July. After the bullshit platitudes that we know were written for idiot boy since he has no thought about anything but himself, he went off on a jaw droppingly stupid passage that I am going to quote here since paraphrasing just doesn’t do it justice:
“Our army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rockets red glare it had nothing but victory. And when dawn came, their star spangled banner waved defiant.”
I don’t even know where to start with this stupidity…I mean, what the hell does “rammed the ramparts” mean? Were there airports in 1776? How did they “man the air”? And the whole bit about Fort McHenry…yeah…that was the war of 1812…Fort McHenry wasn’t even built until 1789. So the whole thing sounds like a fourth grader who didn’t study trying to bluff his way through an oral report in front of his class…and his stupid followers just ate this crap up since they are so damn ignorant they had no idea that nothing he said was true…what a pathetic show of fake patriotism that cost you and me in the 10′s of millions of dollars…and to top that off…idiot boy headed straight to another of his golf courses for another 1.3 million dollar vacation…and that makes it over 100 million dollars this moron has spent just on golf…impeach…
Well…that was a little better…got up at 6:05 but feel pretty crappy after beating on myself at the house yesterday…all those muscles that I don’t use anymore are screaming at me and I’m sure I don’t like it…slept okay but my allergies are the worst they have been this year and I can’t breathe…just want to take a day off of everything and just lie on the couch and watch the TDF and the other races that are on today…but, I won’t…I need to get a ride in here in a few minutes and try to do a second one today but I’m not sure about that…with all the time over at the house, I didn’t get anything done around here and I need to do some cleaning today but there is not even a little bit of motivation that I can feel…so, I think I’ll just play it by ear and ease into it…man, I feel lousy right now…coffee, I need coffee…more later…
Well…as you know, I have been trying to help rehab a house that my son owns over on the west side but after looking at it with hard eyes, the job is too big for me to do so I am going to try to find a contractor to do the work if it it economically feasible to do it…but that means getting a loan for 20-30K to do all the work…there are other options like just selling the house as is and having my son take the money to use for a down payment on another one…but he is not too cool with that and I feel bad for him…still have work to do next week…I did get hold of my brother and he might be able to help out with contractor referrals and even with a guy that would buy the house to flip it…so that was cool…hadn’t talked to him in a couple of years so it was nice to catch up…oh, and he bitched at me that I don’t know my credit score after building credit for the past 18 months or so…I was pleasantly surprised when I go my yearly free report today from all three agencies…my low score was 729, the next 736, and the best one was 758….and my brother said that I only need around 600 to get a loan for a house so that makes me a little happy after the disappointment of the day….now I need to find a house….with that credit score and over 40 k in cash for a down, I know I’ll be able to get one….
Well…I am so damn tired of getting up at 4:30…literally tired and just sitting here doing this is a huge chore…and my allergies are awful this morning and I feel like crap but I still am going to get on the bike in a half hour or so and I’m not sure why…tried staying up late to see if I could get more tired and sleep better but all that did was make me more tired with getting up at the same time…so that is going to make the work I have to do today even harder but I have to get the measurements for the new fence done and then figure out the hardware I need to mount the panels to the existing posts and then figure out how I’m going to wrestle 6×8 panels into place by myself….getting too old for this crap…oh, well…didn’t do a lot yesterday but ride the bike and the second ride was a hot one…but, I think I’m getting acclimated to the heat finally…but that might have something to do with why I’m so tired today… with the work I have to do at the house, I may have to cut back to one ride a day to conserve some energy…not much to do today…going over to do some work this morning but I think I’ll take the afternoon off and just cook a little so I’ll eat enough today…more later…
Well…trying to fight off the guilts still and that may end up with going out for another ride…but, I am still frickin exhausted from all of the work yesterday and not getting any sleep last night…and I haven’t been able to take a nap yet today so I thought I’d come here and do one of these while I think…there has been a little weirdness on the trail this week that I have kept forgetting to talk about so I think I’ll do that now…a couple of days back, while I was heading up my long uphill sprint, I looked up and there was a deer just sauntering across the trail seemingly not bothered by my passing and that distracted me for a bit so I didn’t notice a skunk crossing the trail just in front of me..and that was a little unusual since I see lots of wildlife but never any skunks on the trails…luckily, he was pretty focused on getting hidden in the brush so no problem…just a little way up the trail the weirdness really started when a turkey started running up the trail right in front of me instead of heading into the woods off the trail…I was sprinting over 16 MPH and he was pacing about 10 yards in front of me for almost 30 yards, then took off with leaves being scattered from the vortices from it’s wings…but, he only went up the trail another 20 yards or so and landed to start running again…after I caught up with him, he finally gave up, took off, and flew into the woods…I was laughing the whole time at the absurdity of it…and it still makes me smile…
Well…feel pretty beat up this morning after working on the house all day trying to get the weeds and grass taken care of…used a bunch of new muscles that hurt like crazy today and my allergies are terrible with being exposed to everything I’m allergic to all day…and getting up at 4:30 didn’t help so I think I’ll lay low most of the day after the bike ride…and I’ll drag myself out here in a few minutes to get that done….with being gone all day, I’m sure I was under on calories yesterday so I’ll have to make up for that today…not sure how but I’ll have to try or feel like crap later….I know I have no energy right now so I’m hoping the coffee will work soon…I’m glad I got the grocery run done yesterday so I can kind of ease into it today…not going over to do any work today but will go tomorrow so I think I’ll be back to one bike ride a day from now on…getting too old to load my body with two rides and lots of physical labor…and the no sleep is confusing since I was just exhausted last night and should have slept soundly…oh, well…more later….
Well….5:17 just doesn’t work for me…feel pretty worn out and the coffee isn’t working yet so I guess I’ll have to just wait it out to get moving…slept okay last night but with the developments of last night, I tossed and turned quite a bit so I may have to take a nap later…if I can…I am going to to the grocery run today since I ran out of a bunch of stuff yesterday and I don’t want to be out in the store on the 4th…but, it’s too early for that right now so I need to just stall for a while…I got soaked on the bike on the morning ride yesterday and everything was still wet for the afternoon ride…had to wring out my riding gloves they were so wet and putting my feet in cold, wet shoes was no fun…but, it looks like no rain for today and I’ll only get one ride in today with having to head over to the west side…I did get out for some errands yesterday morning and got some weird seasoned ground meat that has sirloin, brisket, and other good cuts in it for 1.49 a pound so I am going to fall off the red meat wagon later today to see if it is any good…if it is, I’ll probably head out to get a couple more packages Friday….more later…
Well….this was a strange night with storms finally getting here instead of falling apart on the way…but, that’s not the news…just got a call from my oldest son with some news or some information that I didn’t have before…he informed me when he called that his mom has transferred the title to his grandparents house to him…actually it happened quite a few years ago and he was renting it out until about 6 months ago but now it has been empty for a while and there are complaints that it is not being taken care of…so, he offered it to me for free for the next 18 months if I take care of it for him and get it ready for when he and his fiance move back here to GR…so, I need to go over there tomorrow to assess the situation and see if I can get in the garage to get to the mower and at least get the lawn mowed…then I’ll have to have the electricity turned back on and see if it is livable…but, I may be out of here in a month or so…will have to buy my way out of the lease but it will be worth it to buy another year to find a house of my own…it will be weird living in the city but I guess I can get used to riding my bike in the street…and having a garage for the Miata….
Well…is there any damn thing that trump, his family and cronies, can’t ruin? Yeah, we all know the answer to that…no…and now they are working their tacky magic on the 4th of July celebration in DC. Traditionally, the 4th of July has been a non partisan celebration of the country’s birth and the president got out of the way and let the people have it for themselves…but not trump…every damn thing has to be about him and he needs to feed the tin pot dictator in him by having the military involved with tanks and flyovers and even a campaign rally included in front of the Lincoln Memorial…something that has never been done in the history of the celebration…and they have even raised the tackiness bar by blocking off half of the National Mall (something that belongs to you and me) for VIP seating for big donors and cronies of the trump crime family…and guess who is handing out the tickets? Yep, the RNC…making this supposed celebration of everyone in this country just another grift from the grifter in chief and his enablers in the repub party. I wonder how long it will take to get the stench of the trumps out of our country after they are gone? If the polls are accurate, it appears that the cleansing will start on January 21, 2021 since trump is now losing Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin by double digits…and that is before the new indictments that are coming from NY in the next couple of weeks…impeach…
Well…not getting up until 6 seems like such a luxury these days so I’ll take every one I can get…and I even slept okay last night without putting the air on so that’s a bonus…but, I need to get going to get on the bike soon before the storms come in…okay, that’s a laugh…every time I say there is a storm coming it falls apart before it gets here but I hope that’s not the case today…I’m thinking about falling off the no red meat wagon today with DD having burger on sale for 1.49 a pound…I’ve only had two burgers since last September so I think I’m going to splurge and get some today…I hope I can get a small enough package so I don’t have to put anything in the freezer since there is very little room in there…have to start thinking about using some of the chicken in there, too, and get some meals planned…I do need to make some Alfredo or other pasta just to change it up…I did get a lot done yesterday morning with finally getting my oven cleaned and washing and waxing the car along with doing some rust repair but I’m not sure what I’ll do today yet…just need to get some coffee down so I can get on the bike in the next 15 mins…more later…
