Well…as you can see, haven’t done one on politics today so far and probably won’t…had a surprise fun day when Tom called to go out and shoot pool and, of course, I’m always in for that…I had just gotten the instant pot loaded to make some chicken leg quarters so I decided to just let it do it’s thing while I was gone…the first time I’ve ever let any cooking go on without me being here…but, it worked out perfectly and I had a nice, hot chicken lunch waiting for me when I got back here and that was cool…had lunch done and cleaned up from it by 1:30 and now I need to watch the US women’s team play in the World Cup here in a few minutes…and probably take a nap at some point since I’ve been up since 4 or so…I may get to a political one later but I doubt it….only got one ride in today and I’m trying to not let the guilts get to me….

Well…that really, really sucked…up at 3:43 and then couldn’t get back to sleep until 5:30 and then up at 6:15…ick…so I feel pretty crappy right now but I need to get out on the bike soon since there are storms coming in from the NW that appear will be here in about 2 hours but who knows? There was a huge storm coming in off the lake last night but it fell apart before it got from the lake to here…and that is the second time this week that has happened…I did get two rides in yesterday but almost lost the rear wheel when it came loose and jammed the chain but I got that fixed and I think it will be good today…I wish they would finish up the brush removal on the start of the trail since it is a pain to have to detour every day….not much to do today…I do need to clean some and maybe cook some chicken but that is about it…and watch the women’s WC when the US plays this afternoon…I need more coffee and to suck it up and get on the bike here in a few minutes….even going to skip the news for now…more later…
Not one damn lie….
Well…just ran across a neat little tidbit that I wanted to share before I get out on the bike…during the first dem debate last night, CNN was doing live fact-checking and the team doing it was “dumbstruck” by the lack of lies…and this exposes the difference between the dams and any repubs these days…while our side values the truth and goes out of it’s way to tell it, the repubs are all a bunch of liars that lie every damn time they open their mouths….the sick thing here is that CNN has bought into the big lie that all politicians lie constantly and had a team just to fact check the 10 candidates on stage…when it is just not true…I can see the campaign ads now…if you want the truth, vote dem…and then put up the 12,000 and counting lies that the idiot trump has told so far…maybe a live lie counter in the corner of of the screen every time idiot boy opens his mouth….that would be cool…impeach…
June 27th
Well…that was better…didn’t wake up until around 5 and then just stayed in bed until almost 6 so, with how things have been going, that’s a win….did the grocery run this morning and was back here by 7:11 and that is quite early for that…I did have the top down over and back to Meijers and that was nice…it’s already almost 70 out there and it is going to get to almost 90 today and stay in the 80′s for the next week or so but there are going to be storms almost every day so I wonder when I’ll get the car cleaned and waxed? Maybe tomorrow morning after I get the first ride in…it is getting a little dusty and the glass could be cleaner….I did get 45 miles in on the bike yesterday with no damage that I can feel other than I’m a little sore but I’m not doing that again today….just the normal 30 miles is more than enough with it getting hotter….I did get out to have a couple with K yesterday and that was fun getting out to actually talk to someone for the first time in more than a week…still need to think about how to get out and do some new stuff but I don’t feel any isolation so there really is no urgency….not much to do today…I do need to work on the kitchen some but we’ll see about that…need to work out first and have more coffee after I read the news….more later…
A good day…so far…
Well…just don’t feel like writing about politics today so I’m not going to…I know there are tons of things going on including the announcement that Mueller is going to testify to the House in open session on the 17th of July…and I’ll do one on that later…but right now, I just want to noodle around a bit and talk about some unimportant stuff…first, I got 45 miles in on the bike today and I am beat and my butt hurts…and the bike appears to be fixed from the bearing noise that I worked on yesterday…but the zipper is coming apart on my handlebar bag and that is a little annoying…am trying to glue it back together since the teeth are glued to the backing tape and not sewed on and I have never seen that before…I did get out to the dollar store this morning since I needed some sunscreen and they have tubes of it for a dollar…with the same ingredients that Coppertone has in it and that they charge 9 bucks for…it’s not a spray but that’s okay…and I got bunches of other cool stuff there, too…injector cleaner, dish scrubbers, measuring spoons, and drain cleaner…saved myself almost 10 bucks by getting that stuff there instead of Meijers…and I just love that dumpy little store….and the car is still not leaking after only putting two tablespoons of sealer in it…and that’s been a couple of weeks so that is cool…and that made it a good day…so far….
June 26th
Well…that was a little better…didn’t get up until around 6 this morning but feel a little crappy this morning and I know why….slept okay after the short night yesterday and I think I was making up for that….I did try to get two rides in yesterday but had a problem with the bike that I had to cut the second ride short to fix….had the same problem with the rear wheel that I had with the front a few weeks back and had to tear it apart to fix it…the same cracking noise that I think I fixed with greasing and adjusting the bearings but I won’t know that until I get out in a few minutes…it’s weird that I had to do this on this bike when I never had a problem with the last one…or any other bike for that matter….didn’t get anything done yesterday but a couple of errands and it was nice to get out in the car with the top down…and I got 10 more pounds of chicken for 29 cents a pound that I am not sure what the heck to do with…there is no room in my freezer so I may have to sacrifice my turkey carcass to fit it…I wonder if chicken leg quarters would make good soup? How are those sanctions and tariffs working, trump?
Well…with the latest round of sanctions that the idiot trump imposed on Iran yesterday, the reaction from them was so what? You’ve been imposing sanctions on us for forty years and we’re still here…this, with the announcements from Russia and China that they will ignore any sanctions and still trade with Iran, along with increasing trade between Russia and China, shows that the rest of the world has basically given up on the US since idiot boy started to use his fourth grade understanding of international trade to try to bully the world into doing what he wants. The way that trump is going about trying to punish everyone for everything by using trade along with ignoring our European allies is doing nothing but diminishing our standing in the world and trump’s lies has most of the world ignoring us. Making America great again, huh trump? As the studies start rolling in on the idiotic tariffs that trump has imposed, it appears that he single-handedly has destroyed overseas markets for our agricultural products for a generation or more…killing our largest market by forcing China to go elsewhere for the billions and billions of dollars of soybeans, corn, pork, and every other product that Russia and South American countries are all too happy to supply…and with the long term contracts that have been signed with China, these sales are gone forever. Never in the history of this country has one person done so much to damage our economy as trump…and yet, the farmers keep saying they will vote for him again for some reason…okay, for his unbridled hate and racism…traits that trump voters must share to continue to support him…impeach….

Well…that really sucks…woke up at 4:11 this morning but no luck with getting back to sleep so I am worn out today…and I’m not sure if the coffee is going to do the trick…just damn exhausted and this is now starting to get really old…with all of that, it was an okay day yesterday and I did get two rides in between the rain showers and it looks like a sunny day today so two rides will be on the agenda to torture my legs some more…didn’t get much done yesterday but I do need to get some stains out of the carpet today along with some kitchen cleaning and I do need to cook some chicken that has been marinating for a couple of days so I can have some more tacos…and I have a couple of errands to run so I am going to start the car today for the first time since last Thursday…not sure why I am going to buy 10 more pounds of chicken but at 29 cents a pound, how can I pass that up? I wonder how low DD can go? Will they be paying me to take chicken next? That would be cool…more later…
The banal face of evil…
Well…as every damn day goes by, trump and his evil cronies continue to torture children in…let’s say it…concentration camps on our southern border in direct violation of both US law and international treaties. If you haven’t seen it, you need to see the attorney for trump’s US arguing in front of an appeals court that the jailed children don’t need to be provided soap, toothbrushes, beds, blankets, or adequate food…arguing that having children sleep on concrete floors under bright lights is “safe and sanitary” and that the US is not obligated to do any more since they contend they are here “illegally” when asylum seeks are protected by law after presenting themselves at the border. This is the banal face of evil that trump and his cronies present every day while they rip children from their parents at the border and then try to justify keeping them in sub-human conditions…and, in this case the evil doer is named Sarah Fabian….I wonder how she goes home to her own kids when she is part of the torture machine that trump and ICE has built whose only purpose is that torture of “brown” people who the repubs and the right just hate because they are brown. For a little context here, even prisoners of war are guaranteed all of the basics of self care…food, water, hot showers, soap, clean towels, beds…that trump is trying to justify withholding from these children. These people are just evil…and if I were them, I’d be planning on never leaving this country again or they are going to have to answer for their crimes against humanity in the Hague….and even though I don’t believe in hell…if it did exist, there would be a special place in the lakes of fire for everyone who does this to children….
June 24th
Well…it was kind of a boring day yesterday even with races and soccer on all day…I did get two rides in but I’m not sure about today…it is kind of cool that it is already almost 70 outside and it’s not even 6:30 yet…so getting out on the bike before 7 is going to be an easy one today…slept okay last night and don’t feel too bad this morning…don’t hurt much, either, and I’m not sure why that would be…went hard on both rides and that should have made my legs hurt today but they are just stiff…we’ll see when I get on the bike…I am having a cup of coffee before the ride so that will help….didn’t get much done yesterday and today will probably be the same with the US women’s team playing at 11:30…I probably should start the car today and maybe run some errands but I really don’t need any food…the freezer is filled with chicken and I have some more marinating so I’ll have chicken tacos all week…had four of them for lunch yesterday and I was uncomfortable all afternoon even though the filling for all four was just one small chicken breast…but the tortillas alone were 400 calories so I guess I overloaded with about 800 for lunch…still feel full this morning so I think I’ll lighten up today…more later….
