February 10th

Well…it was a really crappy day yesterday feeling like I do…worst flu that I’ve had in many, many years and I am sitting here in layers and layers of clothes trying to stay warm….I did get out to get the papers on time today and I am having coffee that tastes like crap to me….and I do have to make a run out today at noon but that will take all of the energy that I have left….other than that, not much to do today…I know…these are short but I feel like crap and just making coffee and reading the paper has done me in for another few hours…more later…flu chronicles are coming back…

February 9th

Well…this one is going to be short…have the flu again and feel like crap so I’m going back to the couch…more later….

Okay…feeling a little bit better but I have just gotten off the couch for the first time today…and I am sweating through my t-shirt so that is not fun…yesterday was much like today and I felt like crap then, too, so I didn’t do much at all but just hang out…and that looks like the plan for today, too, since it took all of my energy just to take a shower and make some soup for lunch…not sure why I went out to wash the car yesterday feeling as I did but I’m glad I did…the locks were a little frozen this morning but I got the door open okay….not going to do much else around here today….after this….need to go back to the couch….

Rockets away….

Well…have been feeling like crap again today with another fever up over 101 and I am getting really tired of it…was just getting over the past one and got up coughing my lungs out again….but, that’s not what this one is about…there is going to be another Space X launch tonight at 6:10 and, after they put the satellite into orbit, they are going to try to soft land again on one of their floating landing pads….that should happen about 7 or so and NASA is going to cover the launch live…not sure if they are going to cover the landing but that would be the cool part…at least there will be video of it tomorrow….that’s it…feeling too crappy to write more so I’ll hit the couch and try to rest….

February 8th

Well…sitting here watching a soccer match that I really don’t care about so I thought I’d get this one done…it was an okay day yesterday and I had fun going over to watch the Wings game with one of my sons…but, I didn’t get anything else done so that needs to change today…slept pretty crappy again and I’m not sure why….oh, well….the tooth has been good the past two days and that is a relief but I am realistic enough to know it won’t last long….I am going to go out and wash the car here in a few minutes since it is in the 30s and I need to get the salt off it while it is warm enough to dry and not freeze…and that needs to be done before Man U plays at 11 so I guess I’ll start to get ready to go out….more later…

I was right….

Well….I was right that today was going to be another one of no accomplishments…other than cooking that is…but, I really don’t feel that bad about it….have had to try to find my Wings gear for the game tonight and have found my Hank shirt that is my favorite…I think I may have to get my son to bet on the goals in the game tonight since it seems to make it more interesting…and, I may even put the top down on the way over there since it is still 40 outside right now and I need to get my February top down run in…but, we’ll see…..not much else to talk about today so I’ll end here…Go Wings!

February 7th

Well….it was an okay day yesterday and I won at pool so that was cool…slept okay but kind of fitfully but feel okay today…I think that’s from eating enough yesterday…still not where I need to be but making progress is a good thing….it was nice to get out and see K for a couple later in the day but that had me tired here last night…fell asleep on the couch, which I never do, and that made a little tightness in my neck today….didn’t get anything done yesterday and today looks like more of the same…there is soccer on right now that is getting my attention since it is s good match with Arsenal and Spurs and I think I’ll go back to that here in a minute…not much to do today…going over to one of my sons house for the Wings game later but that is about it….more later….

February 6th

Well….it was an okay day yesterday but the tooth hurt like crazy last night and that was not fun….but, it only hurts a little this morning so I’m hopeful it will be okay today…slept okay last night but feel a little slow this morning and it is my fault…didn’t get anything done yesterday and today looks the same…need to just kind of relax today since my stomach is burned out from the ibuprofen from yesterday…I may do some laundry and other chores this morning but nothing too heavy….not much to do today…pool, of course, but not much more than that….T is having some medical procedures done this morning and I am a little consumed with that so that will be my focus today…more later….

The supreme court isn’t one….

Well…I have had this little tidbit rattling around in my head for a little while yet and thought I’d take a stab at it before it rattles out one of my ears…with all of the bad,  bad decisions that this court has made, it is no longer a court…but it is the judicial arm of the repub party whose only goal is to further the aims of the right in this country. Starting with Bush v. Gore, where the case should have been sent back to the House where all election disputes are supposed to be resolved according to the constitution….this court took the case with the ruling that said this was a one time thing and could never be a precedent to be cited in any other case (something that had never happened in the history of the country) this court has been radically doing the right’s bidding. Then we have Citizen’s United that made corporations people in complete disregard with a hundred years of precedent and guaranteed the seven figure speaking fees for the justices when they retired…while ruining our political process and allowing the billionaires on the right to buy elections ( as they just did in 2014). Then there is Hobby Lobby, a decision that allowed employers the right to impose their religious beliefs on their employees and which gave the right one of the items that was high on their wish list….to impose Christianity on everyone in this country. In just these three instances, we can see that this supreme court is no longer the impartial arbiter of law they are supposed to be, but the judicial arm of the right using it’s power to advance the right’s aims to the detriment of the country…they need to go…geez…

February 5th

Well….it was an okay day yesterday and I made a little cash so that was cool…had a nice lunch with T that was a lot of fun and then out to have a few with G that wasn’t…slept mediocre last night and had dreams about a baseball game that used a oblong ball that was just weird…..the teeth don’t hurt this morning and I can’t figure that out…but, I hope it keeps up…other than lunch, I didn’t get much done yesterday so today will be filled with accomplishment…not really but it sounded good….I do have to do the grocery run this morning since I am really, really tired of chicken and need something different….didn’t eat anywhere near enough yesterday so I am planning on running out of steam early as I always do when I am under on calories…not much to do today…other than the grocery run, that is….I do have one errand to run but the whole day will hinge on whether or not the car will start this morning….more later…

The real death panel….

Well…during the repub fight against the ACA, one of their go to phrases was the law included “death panels” which would condemn people to death by restricting what type of care people would get under the law…ignoring the fact that that most elderly folks are covered under Medicare and it would have nothing to do with them….but, with a new study that came out today, the real death panel is going to be the supreme court if they rule against subsidies for people who buy their insurance through the federal exchanges…and condemn an extra 10,000 people to death per year since they won’t be able to afford unsubsidized insurance. This total can then be added to the estimated 17,000 people a year that die since the Medicaid expansion was made optional by the court and the governors of repub states decided not to expand the program. So, the only thing you need to remember is there truly is a death panel here in the US, and it is called the supreme court…geez…
