Well…running a little late today with not getting out of bed until after 6 and needing to get started on drinking water again today to help with getting the swelling down in my foot…must have had 3 gallons yesterday and will try to do the same today…you know, I used to be one of those people who lit off fireworks but not like the idiots around here who kept it up every damn night for the past 5 days and forced me to use earplugs again last night since I wanted to keep the windows open….grrrrr….I did wake up in an almost overall pain this morning but none of it is sharp, just a dull pain everywhere that I have already taken something for since I need to get a ride in and then head out to Menards to get some more soil and grass seed so I can seed before the rain that is coming Thursday. I did get some work done on the downstairs project yesterday and that may be part of why I hurt this morning…not sure what I’m going to do today after working on the lawn…I do have a few more tomato plants to get in today that will ensure I have tomatoes through the whole summer and I even put in some more sunflower seeds since some damn animal keeps killing mine….there was good news on the bike ride yesterday when the water has receded enough to be able to avoid riding on the road and I am going to explore a little today to see if I can get to the eagle’s nest and see if the baby eagle has fledged yet…but man, the trail that was flooded smells really bad and takes me back to early days living around the river in Ada…same smell and it brought back some good memories…more later…

It’s “exercise”?
Well…I know I need to get back to doing political ones so I think I’ll dip my toe in right now and see how it goes…as the idiot in chief goes to another one of his golf courses for the 244th time since he was installed as *president and golfs for two days in a row, the death toll from his screwed up response to the deadly coronavirus heads quickly to 100,000 Americans…and still not a peep out of him about the loss of so many Americans and the trauma the deaths are causing to the families and friends left behind. But, that lack of empathy and character is not going unnoticed….with a new ad that came out yesterday, Joe Biden hits at trump for the loser he is and for being the cause of most of the deaths…and of course idiot boy had to take to twitter to try to defend himself even though everything about him is indefensible. Trump’s defense fell back on attacking Obama for some reason…oh, for his taking a golf outing when there were 2…count ‘em, two Ebola cases in the US….and…hmmm, I wonder how many hundreds of thousands died from Ebola on Obama’s watch? None….oh, back to the ad…idiot boy also tried to justify his golfing as “exercise” that everyone should do…but did you see him walking the course pulling his bag behind him….of course not, his “exercise” consists of walking 10 feet to where his ball landed and then walking 10 feet back to the cart…I guess he considers driving the cart to be “exercise” too….so Joe lands a punch that the idiot can’t dodge so he blows up like a toddler…again…..keep it up Joe, we need to see this idiot in jail next year….
May 25th
Well…yep, I’m sore this morning and I’m not sure how the ride is going to go today…maybe I should take the day off? One of these days I’m going to and that will surprise the hell out of me…I did sleep okay last night but feel pretty crappy this morning and already out of energy so the ride is going to wait until I have lots of coffee…may have to take some ibuprofen too….didn’t get much done yesterday but ride and cook but I am going to clean some today…I was really hoping for thunderstorms to watch today but that forecast has changed and now it looks like I may have to wait until tomorrow for the excuse to only ride once….it looks like I may have tomatoes in July from a couple of plants in the garden since they have flowers on them…but I do have many more sprouted downstairs that I am going to plant in the next week or so along with some more green pepper plants if the seeds sprout….I am going to get out to get some more potting soil and grass seed tomorrow so I can get started on reseeding the back yard…the front is starting to grow in some and look okay but after killing the weeds in the back there isn’t much yard left….not much to do today…I am going to take a while to just ease into the day before I get on the bike and I am going to clean the floors today and maybe even start on cleaning the copper on the front of the house…but not now, more coffee….
More damage….
Well….cripes, I finally figured out why I was having shortness of breath on the bike on the second ride today…and it’s nothing but what I’m doing to myself and have done before so I just need to let my lungs heal up over a week or so…and I was feeling pretty good about knowing what’s going on until damn, more damage that I did to myself again…I have been losing my sprouted sunflowers to some kind of animal and when I saw a squirrel rooting around near them, I put my old shoes on and took off after it…well…the damn glue that I used to hold them together let go and the front of the sole came loose and I tripped and went down hard on my right side….now, I’ve had broken ribs before and this is not nearly that painful so I guess I’m only bruised…but it still hurts like crazy and I know I’m going to be black and blue in the morning and it will probably hurt more…so this is a really good compliment for my right foot still having swelling and pain…cripes, I’m getting old…probably shouldn’t chase squirrels at my age, huh?
So far, so good…
Well….you know, I really do need to take a day off sometime…have already gotten a bike ride in and have fixed the spring bracket on the garage door that had pulled loose….and watered the gardens…and, so far, so good…at least from the bike ride…no shortness of breath but my right knee is still hurting from wedging it against the ladder Friday…that DID hurt on the bike but I’m hoping the ibuprofen I took will help that before the second ride…and yeah, I am going to take a second ride as soon as I make lunch and that should be interesting…even went out with only one cup of coffee at 8 so I need to finish that up first…then I think I’ll take the afternoon off…ha,ha,ha…yeah, I laughed at that one, too….I need to do the floors around here and should try to clean up the copper on the front of the house….see…I just can’t do it…
May 24th
Well…yeah, running late again today…it is Sunday after all and I’m always late on Sundays….slept okay last night but feel pretty crappy today with the pain from painting the front trim finally hitting my mid back and everywhere else…even my damn thumb hurts this morning and my foot is still puffy and I need to figure out how to get my back to crack to help that…I am little depressed that today is normally my big race day of the year with Monaco, Indy, and the coke 600 on and now there is only the coke 600 to watch later…it was a great excuse to do nothing for an entire day and now that’s gone…I had problems on the second ride on the bike yesterday where I couldn’t catch my breath coming back and, while that happens sometimes, not to that degree and I was really concerned…but I think part of it was the acid reflux I was having…water helped that but I still had concerns that I was going to be able to get back here…..we’ll see how it is here in a few minutes when I take the bike out this morning….cripes, it sucks getting old…not much to do today….not going to do any work other than on the garden and that will just be screwing around…well, I might try some cleaning on the copper on the front of the house but that will aggravate my foot so I’m not sure about that….and I’m not sure about two rides today but that will hinge on how the first one goes….more later….
Eleventy dimension chess…
Well…donald trump, super genius, is at it again…playing his eleventy dimension chess here in Michigan by attacking the women who hold the top three offices in the state. In a state that he won by around 10,000 votes 4 years ago, and that he needs for any hope of re-election, attacking a popular governor, secretary of state and attorney general is something that I guess no one but the super genius understands….or maybe his “gut” understands it but no one else does….and there is nothing that will unite us here in Michigan like some moronic outsider trying to screw with our state…but as the super genius tries to extort the SoS by withholding funds from Michigan for following our constitution which allows for absentee voting and voters need no reason to request a ballot…which is trump breaking the law…again…our repubs stay silent on the extortion and instead focus on trying to “open” the state while there are still pandemic levels of virus infections and it will kill thousands more of us. I just can’t see the strategery here….do they think bots vote? After all, more than 50% of the twitter support for “opening” is Russian bots doing just what they did in 2016 to install trump…and these folks salute and fall into line with the Russians again….and polls show that almost 70% of Americans want the isolation to continue until the scientists say it’s safe….not some damn failed game show host who is dumber than a box of rocks….

Well…cripes, my allergies are just terrible this morning after not taking anything for them last night and I am miserable…but I think I’ll tough it out today and wait until later to take anything for it…I think I’m going to take the day off from painting today since climbing up and down the ladder yesterday really flared my gout in the right foot and it was really swollen and hurting last night…it’s better this morning but I do need to take care of it by keeping it elevated and drinking way too much water today…I am going to get out on the bike today but only for one ride…it looks like the 5K goal for the year is gone since I can’t do the 30 miles a day that I need to do to get there….oh, well…and the trail is so flooded that I can’t get 15 in anyway….and that is going to get worse with the rain that is forecast for the next few days….and it’s going to be in the upper 80′s Monday and Tuesday and I am looking forward to that…I really like the hot weather….and I’ll be sitting on the front porch watching the storms when they come in….not much to do today…going to listen to Joe Walsh on the radio today when he does a radio show for a public radio station in California at 6 tonight…well…on the internet since I don’t think the radio will carry all the way from Cali….should be a hoot…but I’m not going to do much more…need a day off to rest the foot and take care of myself….just wearing out and I don’t like it….more later…

Well….I do want to do a political one today but I don’t want to talk about the idiot boy…so, I won’t….I do want to talk about other things…like our governor here in Michigan who I think is doing a great job during this crisis…but I have one little bitch about coverage of the gradual re-opening of businesses here that starts today….the media always pairs it with the moronic protests that the rw assholes have been doing here and that needs to stop since every damn one of them imply that it is the protests that started the opening process and not the measured, logical response of Governor Whitmer….who is just doing what she said she was going to do when the science allowed it…and not because some yahoos carrying confederate flags and trump posters forced her to….so media…stop that crap…I know headlines like those are clickbait to goose traffic to your sites but attacking a woman to make her look weak when she is doing her difficult job well is just the worst kind of misogyny and wouldn’t happen if she were a man….cripes it’s 2020…not 1920….

Well…running late this morning and today I have an excuse…my internet was down until just now and I haven’t even read the news yet…slept okay last night but feel pretty crappy this morning with it being a cocktail night last night and not having my coffee…or enough coffee…so this one is going to be a little disjointed….and my foot hurts after the abuse of climbing on the ladder yesterday…I do need to get the prescription for the gout refilled since my foot is all red and looks just like it did the last time….damn….drank so damn much water yesterday I was floating but I guess I’ll have to keep that up today…and I need to get at the rest of the trim on the front of the house today but I’m not going to paint today….just need to get the wire bush out and get it ready….don’t think I have enough paint to do the rest of it so I’ll have to get out for another gallon Tuesday…I can’t believe it’s already Memorial day and I don’t have my one race day of the year…normally, there is F1, Indy, and then the 600 to watch this Sunday and it gave me an excuse to just veg the entire day…but this year there is only the 600 Sunday night and I guess that will have to do…not much to do today…need to get out on the bike in a few minutes but I need coffee first….not sure if I’m going to do two rides today but I should…we’ll see…more later….
