Well…it was a long day yesterday and with the lack of sleep, I’m feeling kind of run down today…I did try to sleep but it just didn’t work and I shouldn’t be surprised..it is normal after all. It’s raining out and I may be able to break the string of 152 straight days on the bike…I do have things to do around here and it may be a good thing…or I can wait until later in the day….who knows? I haven’t been getting to the politics lately but there is a reason for it…I am so disappointed with everything that is going on that I just haven’t been able to comment…maybe today…more later…

Well….a cold morning out on the bike but the sun felt good and I did too….I’m still amazed that I can keep this up every day…but, enough of that….the Great Blue Heron has gone missing from the ponds along M-6 but there was another sighting that more than made up for it…on one of the bridges I cross on the trail, there was some sort of raptor sitting right in the middle of the bridge and it sat there until I was about 10 feet away where I could see that it had just made a kill of a bluejay and had it in it’s talons. When I approached it, the bird took off down the trail to land about 6 feet up in a tree where it sat just watching me…tried to get the phone out to get a picture but it took off before I could….don’t know what kind of bird it was…at first thought, Peregrine Falcon popped into my head but this bird was all medium grey and the size of a large crow…maybe a Kestrel? I’ll have to go out and look it up…if I find out, I’ll update later….

Well….a normal day yesterday with a little diversion provided by going out for one with K and K at the local watering hole….that was a little cliched wasn’t it? I do like the looks that I get when the twins walk into a place and sit down with me…and the Peppino’s out here is so suburban to quote one of the K’s….then it was back here to watch the final disc of season 5 of “Dexter”…didn’t finish it but I have the rest of the day to do that….well…not really…going out to shoot pool with Tom later so that will make the rest of the day kind of a blur….might not even make it to “Breaking Bad” at 10…we’ll see. I do have one of the biggest soccer matches of the year this morning with Chelsea and Manchester United so I do need to get out on the bike in a few minutes so I can be back before 11…waiting for it to warm up a little first, though, it is a little cold when the temp is under 50…and I do have time to wait since it’s only 8:30….on that note…going to read the online papers and have one more cup of coffee…there probably won’t be more later….it is Sunday after all…

Well….I am a little irritated with the organized bike ride on the trail this morning…it’s bad enough dealing with the few rookies I see every day, but when they are out there in groups of 20 it is a real pain in the butt. I got run off the trail and into the weeds twice by people that were just not paying attention…okay, I know I have a mountain bike that is made for it….okay…not that big of a deal…but I did get a second one in for the day and Michigan is going to start here in about a half hour so I’m smiling…maybe even more later…

Well….I think I’m climbing out of the hole of sickness finally and it is really a good thing…it gets tiring to be sick for such a long time with the serial relapses that have come with it…but, even after a couple of cocktails last night, I feel okay this morning and I’m running late as usual. I needed to get the ribs in the oven and read the papers with coffee first before I got to this….it is going to be a sports day today with all kinds of college football and races to watch and one of my sons may be coming into town to hang out for a while so at least the boredom will be kept at bay…I even cleaned the kitchen yesterday and that felt good….need to do the bathroom this morning along with getting the bike ride in so I need to get going…it’s a shame that the nice weather has gone away and I have to wear a sweatshirt to ride…it’s only 49 degrees, after all…..more later…

Well… a strange night last night..I do feel a little better but not 100 percent yet….bad sleep and up early didn’t help but I do have the day to rest a little and clean….not much to do today…not sure what I’m going to cook today….I might end my year old break from fast food but probably not….and I will come back later for one or more….

Okay….did have a little argument with G last night but we have learned how to defuse arguments and it really turned out to be a nice evening…we even won some money playing Keno which never happens anymore…so, I am looking forward to next Monday out with her…

One last thing…Netflix has taken a pounding in stock price since they announced they were doubling prices a couple of months ago and I say “good”….another greedy corporation that made the mistake of thinking they were indispensable in peoples lives and now they are paying for the hubris of their leadership….what happened to good value and reasonable profits?

Well…another night and I think I may be feeling better, finally, but I won’t know that until later….but the signs are there….and I had a good night with watching disc 2 of “Dexter” to keep the boredom at bay….ever since the flat on the bike Sunday, I have been sore all over but I even think that may be going away….but the front that I put on seems to be leaking so I’ll need to take it back apart and see what the problem is…might have to buy another tube today….probably with the leak stop in it so I won’t have to worry about flats anymore….not much to do today…it is grocery day and I’ll have to wait until after lunch to ride since it is so cold out…I will have more later since I did all of the work yesterday to get caught up…..

Well….a much better night last night and I feel almost human this morning….not quite 100 percent so much better…still can feel the bug, though, with that itchy skin hot feeling that comes with it but I hope that goes away later today….I am going out to get the papers and have coffee today but there will be no more sitting outside to read them with the temps still falling the next couple of days…and frost…I do not want to get the scraper out for the car…not yet, it’s way too early. Not much to do today….I do need groceries but this week it’s going to be two stores to get what I need….I am getting close to being caught up here and I will put the push on to get ahead today…so there will be politics later…or maybe even some sports with Verlander winning another one and the Tigers running away…more later…

Well….I can’t remember such a wasted day and feeling this crappy….after I got off the bike, I didn’t do anything at all and I don’t know if that was the right thing to do…I am feeling better now with just getting off the phone with my middle son…haven’t talked to him in a couple of months and it was good to get an update from him that things are going well…I am a couple down for the month but I am making it a goal to get caught up tomorrow when I feel better…at least I hope I feel better since this bug has been hanging on for almost a week now…I don’t feel nearly as feverish and that is normally a good sign but this could be one of those that come and go for a couple of weeks…I do have to watch “Countdown” tonight to get some topic ideas but will need to write them down if I do….and I hope there will be dreams again tonight…that last one was an almost complete movie….Tom thinks it could turn into a new novel and I know I need to get writing again….more tomorrow…

Well…a fun day but I still feel like crap today…I lost at pool but it was fun so it was okay….not used to going out on Monday and having Tuesday be a recovery day but that’s what it looks like…going to skip coffee and just lick the wounds for a while….so, on that note, I’m going back to the couch for rest and ice water….more later…

Okay, I’m going to have to stop going out until I get over this bug…have felt really crappy all day today and need to get over it….so, I’m going to be good the rest of the week until I have a couple with G thursday….I did get out on the bike today and found out I really don’t like the new front tire…it slides quite easily and make the bike handle really strange…so, I’ll get another one later in the week and use this one for a spare…it was kind of weird on the trail today with swarms of grasshoppers everywhere that were banging off me as I went through them…I will try to get going and read some of the online papers to get a topic for a political one…
