Well…the damn repubs are at it again, trying to steal elections in Georgia, Florida, and Arizona by suing to stop the counting of votes in each state since their candidates are ahead so far. So, now what’s next? They want to stop counting votes in any elections where their guys are ever ahead? Hell…it worked for them when GW was installed by the SC so why not try it again? This is not democracy…in a functioning democracy every damn vote is counted and the election is not over until they are…the howls that are coming from the idiot trump and his minions are the worst kind of projection when they scream that the dems are “creating” votes out of thin air…are they pissed that their voter suppression didn’t work this time? I have had enough of this crap….we did a good job this election of turning out our side but I guess now the rule is (according to the repubs) that if you don’t win in a landslide, you didn’t win…only repubs can win close elections and dems are “un-American” if they want all votes counted…Orwell would have understood these assholes and their doublespeak and lies…impeach….

I should be dancing…
Well….with the results trickling in, it appears that the dems had a pretty good night last night with taking back control of the House and Whitmer winning the governor’s race here in Michigan, I should be dancing but I’m not sure why I still feel a sense of unease about the election…part of that is the fact the the repubs gained a couple of senate seats even though the dems got 10 million more votes across the country. That is a direct result of the repubs rigging the election and that will continue until we take back the senate in 2020…an election I may not even see. Yep, kind of depressed this morning and I don’t know why…I should be dancing at the fact that Scott Walker lost in Wisconsin…I should be dancing that Dana Rohrbacher, Putin’s buddy in the house, lost and will be gone….I should be dancing that the notorious vote suppressor and racist Kris Kobach lost in Kansas…and I should be dancing that all three proposals passed here in Michigan and the 2020 re-districting will be fair and out of reach of the repub gerrymanders that have allowed them to win this state with much less of the vote than the dems got in every election since 2010. I think part of my sadness this morning is that many right wing repub assholes still got elected even though they are under indictment or investigation for things that any dem would have resigned over but the repubs treat as a badge of honor….oh, well…at least there will be no more repub nonsense here in Michigan and look forward to taking both the state senate and house when the fair maps are used in 2020…then the state can move forward again…I can hope anyway…
Get out and vote…
Well…today’s the day I have been both looking forward to and dreading for months…it’s election day here in the US and it could be the most important election in the history of this country…and that is not hyperbole…if you want to stop the country’s slide into fascism and put and end to the damage the repubs have done over the past two years….get out and vote…if you want to stop the idiot trump’s agenda…that is to say the agenda of the 1%, get out and vote….if you want to start to fix the damage that the repubs have done to Michigan, get out and vote….if you want to hold politicians accountable, get out and vote…oh, did I day get out and vote? Today is the day we can re instate the rule of law in this country but only if you vote…and vote for dems up and down the ticket….so get the hell out and vote…l will be at around 10…and I have cocktails to either celebrate starting the political repair process or to mourn the death of the US….
Might be the last election one…
Okay…have been following the election a little closer that I should be but, with a chance to end the repub nightmare both in Michigan and across the country, it is really important to know what is going on. Here in Michigan, the polling is showing some good news for those of us who are tired of the repub scams and just want the chance for our state to work for everyone, not just corporations and the rich. All three proposals are ahead with more than double digit leads that I’m hoping will hold for two more days…but I am a little concerned that the DeVos’s are pouring huge amounts of money into defeating the redistricting and making it easier to vote proposals (numbers 2 and 3) that would make their money irrelevant, or make it less relevant and prevent them from buying the government like they have since at least 2010. The ads they are running are just full of lies and decry that it could cost the state 10 million dollars every 10 years to run the commission that would draw the new district lines…but, my response is that it is a cheap price to ensure that no political party can hijack our state again and implement policies like right to work that only a small sliver of the residents want. The governor’s race is still looking good for us with Whitmer up around 8 points or so in the latest aggregate of the polls done late last week and that looks good for us to get rid of Schuette permanently…any time we can make another trump lover go away it is a good day…and another good sign is that Schuette has cancelled ad buys this past week…ensuring that he at least walks away with cash when he loses….there is a possibility of picking up some seats both in the Michigan house and senate but there is not much polling out there to comment on so I won’t…let’s just say that with a dem governor, there will be a brake on any more repub shennanigans and we should be able survive until 2020 when we will take back the entire government here with the implementation of Prop2…it can’t come too soon….
