Well…in another scam that has been deployed by ALEC…the group that gave us the stand your ground laws and others….we have repub owned companies that are now stealing education money through the scam of “cyber academies” that have been popping up around the country. One of the most egregious thieves is a company called K12…I’m sure you’ve see their ads on tv, whose former teachers have just come forward to reveal the scam. Aided by laws that have been bought from repubs by ALEC, this company has charged the states where they operate hundreds of million of dollars for students that never once signed on to the so called “academy”, who never once did any homework, or answered any e-mails, etc….as you know, these “academies” are just the last, blatant attempt to destroy education here in the US…or, more to the point, to destroy the teacher’s unions as they have gone after every other union in the headlong rush to the destruction of the middle class. These hypocrites rail and rail against government unless they can steal more and more and more from the American people through these scams…we need to put a stop to it….geez…

More ALEC nonsense…
Well…as the days go by, the repubs and their buddies at ALEC continue to dream up more mischief to inflict upon this country and I am getting damn tired of it….the latest is the raft of so-called “conscience” laws that are being proposed in Washington state and here in Michigan….in case you haven’t heard, these laws would allow anyone to discriminate against anyone they don’t like if it is a “deeply held religious belief”….but you know the true purpose behind it is to allow them to discriminate against gays….but, how much further could it go? How about your religion doesn’t allow mixed race marriages so any mixed race couple that comes into your shop or restaurant can be turned away….or your religion doesn’t allow women to drive so you can refuse to sell them gas? It is just another nightmare coming out of the supposed party of “freedom”…they can’t pass anything that would get the economy moving but they have all of the time in the world to try to take away hard fought rights….I just can’t believe this crap….geez…
Dark days in Michigan…
Well…it is a dark day in Michigan as the Koch brothers and the Chamber of Commerce, along with the DeVos family have bought themselves a right to work law that will go a long way to gutting organized labor…the House has just passed the bill in this lame duck session with no debate allowed by the repubs. One thing everyone has to understand is that this bill was written by ALEC…the extreme right wing organization that is behind the “stand your ground” laws that have resulted in murderers getting away with murder in the states where they have been enacted, and it is wholly funded byt the Kochs and the Chamber…the most anti-American worker organizations in this country. The bitch about this whole thing is that the Koch’s ideas and candidates were rejected at the ballot box in the last election but they still found a way to hurt the American economy by this new law…what do you think will happen when people have 1,500 dollars less in their pockets? They are going to spend less and the economy will head back into recession…just what the repubs want….so they can say it is the failed policies of Obama that did it…what a cynical, terrible group of people…geez…
