Well…now I guess repubs all over the country are now legislating to try to outlaw the right’s favorite conspiracy theories…and just yesterday a repub rep in Oklahoma filed a bill that would outlaw kids acting like “furries” or pretending to be any animal and would remove the child from school…now this is an old one that has been running around forever being pushed by idiots like boebert and MT greene and they just “know” it’s happening all over the country…but these kids must be invisible since no one has seen it first hand…and every time someone spouts this bullshit, it gets picked up by the moron joe rogan and another cycle starts…and justin humphey is well known for the stupid bills he proposes…like the one where he introduced a bill that would force the conservation commission to establish a hunting season and issue licenses for…bigfoot…so that is all you really need to know about this moron…and Oklahoma…geez…

Shredding the constitution in Oklahoma…
Well…I am so damned tired of the repubs talking out of both sides of their mouths when it comes to the constitution…always waving copies in peoples faces and saying how much they revere it, and then going back to the legislatures they control and passing blatantly unconstitutional laws. This is happening across the country wherever repubs are in control…from NC to Mississippi and now Oklahoma where the latest these idiots have done is pass a law taking the medical licenses away from any doctor who performs an abortion…yeah, a perfectly legal procedure is being criminalized by idiots that just don’t understand that federal law trumps state law….this from a state that can’t educate it’s kids because of the tax cuts they have given to the rich and crying that there just isn’t any money left, but they have no problem spending millions to defend this blatantly illegal law. What the hell is wrong with the repubs in this country? When did they get so stupid? I just can’t understand why anyone votes for these idiots who obviously don’t have a clue how government works…I just can’t believe this crap….geez…
Political stuff….
Well…I’m really trying to think of something to write but it’s hard when when every time I move my eyes it feels like someone is sticking an ice pick into them…but, that’s the flu so what are you going to do? Haven’t done much in politics lately but most of that is because there is not much going on yet…not sure what kind of mischief the repubs are going to try for the next two years but I’m sure they are going to get a taste of the crap they have pulled since Obama got elected. There was one thing today that made my jaw drop….in Oklahoma, state lawmakers there (repubs, of course) have proposed a new law that would outlaw hoodies…yep…the most important thing on agenda is not jobs, or roads, or reining in business…it to outlaw hoodies….the last I heard a hoodie has never stolen trillions from the people of the country, have never polluted wide swaths of the country, or tortured anyone….but it is now the greatest threat to the people of Oklahoma…and SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!…..okay…the caps were to emphasize the the stupidity of those folks…and this is just the 3rd of January…can’t wait to see what comes next….geez….
A few open threads…
Well…don’t really have a big one for today but I do have a few short open threads that I do want to comment on…
First…why the hell are we talking about gutting social security and medicare when the programs are solvent until 2030? If we can get the repubs out of the way and get to historical levels of growth in the economy, that extends out another 15 years or so…so why are the repubs so adamant about cutting and cutting the things that the middle class depends on to stay above poverty? Especially since these don’t contribute one penny to the deficit…
Then we have more mischief by the repubs here in Michigan where they are going ahead with the plans to rig the electoral vote so they will win the majority of them even when they lose the state…they can’t win on ideas so lie, cheat, and steal…
Then, let’s move on to Oklahoma and the new plans to allow employers to not include birth control in their health plans since in women, it “suppresses their identity and poisons their bodies”…and they are writing this law for the entire state on the request of one quack doctor…what the hell happened to trying to put people back to work?
Okay….that’s all for now…might have a few more for later….
Oklahoma goes crazy…
Well…I’m sure you’ve heard of the constitutional amendment passed in Oklahoma on election day that forbids the use of Islamic or international law in court rulings…and that more than 70% of the voters approved it. First, if they are so concerned with religious law being used to settle disputes, why didn’t they include all religious law? But no, that would mean that they could no longer refer to the bible or other christian teachings that they just love to cite when they are restricting the rights of gays and lesbians or a woman’s right to be secure in her own body. What we had in Oklahoma was just another cynical ploy by the right to get their base out to vote…just like they used gay marriage bans to do the same in previous elections….elections where they had no new ideas to offer but they knew if they went back to the divide and conquer playbook, it might just work. And, they got a two-fer with the ruling by a federal district court to stay the implementation on constitutional grounds so now they can continue to delegitimize the role of the judiciary and trot out their tired old attacks on the “activist judges” that are more activist on the right than left.
Isn’t anyone else tired of the right’s continued efforts to divide this country? Geez…
