Well…it was a long night and I am feeling like crap from another bug…or the same one I’ve had for a couple of weeks…not sure yet but it’s one of those…sweating like crazy and coughing again…I tried to stay up for the end of the Tiger’s game but Valverde was up to his crap of giving the game away again and I got so disgusted that I went to bed…they did win in 12, though, but Leyland should stop using him…oh, well, that’s one for sports…I’ve already updated on the soup from yesterday so that’s not a topic….hmmmmm….skipped the bike ride yesterday with it raining all day and I would like to get one in this morning but it is still raining so I guess I’ll just have to wait and see…it’s already 65 degrees and it would be nice to get out in just a t shirt…I guess I’ll just get another cup of coffee and read the online papers while I wait for the radar to clear….more later…

Paul Ryan is still a hypocrite…
Well…I just had to comment on the revelations of how much a hypocrite ole Ryan is when it comes to the favorite talking point of the repubs, the supposed “failure” of the stimulus that he has hyped and hyped on the campaign trail…and, I know I point this out all the time, but Ryan and the rest of the repubs are so two faced about this subject that it is breathtaking…loving stimulus and government spending to create jobs when ole GW was in office, but calling it a socialist plot when a dem president proposes it. To even top that, though, ole Ryan was at the head of the line to ask for stimulus money when the bill passed the dem controlled congress and he now says he was just doing his job when he asked for the money. How much more hypocritical can these guys get? I guess we’ll find out the next time they open their mouths…the shame is that Americans don’t seem to care that the whole repub campaign is based on mendacity…one of my favorite words from “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”…..geez…
Just an update…
Well..just haven’t been feeling it with politics lately so I think I’ll just start writing and see what happens…it has been an okay day today with Michigan blowing out Illinois and the ham soup I made coming out much better than I expected with an almost minestrone like taste….the last batch I made was primarily a bean soup with ham and it was not good…had no taste…I am getting excited about the night that is going to start in a few minutes with a race and the Tigers starting the ALCS against the Yankees…and the Yanks are easy to hate so it should make for a fun night…I think I have another bug, though, with a sore throat and coughing again and I don’t like it at all….oh, well…I’ll probably survive it…it’s cocktail time so I am going to watch the rest of the ND game and then make one…I will try to get more political tomorrow but I can’t promise anything…
October 13th
Well…it was a day yesterday and I really don’t remember much of it other than getting the chance to go out for a while and see K and J…it was almost 3 weeks since I’ve seen them and I think I’m getting to be too much of a hermit…and some of that is driven by being broke but I think most of it is just inertia…it’s just easier to hang out here than it is to go out…and cheaper, too. I do have things to do today…but, again, they are all here at my place…making ham bone soup today with the leftovers from the last three hams I bought and I can’t wait to see how it comes out…the last try was not good but this one is more like the turkey and chicken soup that I make so it has a better chance at being edible…and then there are the sports that are on today…we have Michigan, the Tigers and a race to watch later so it looks like a total veg day…I will be back for another one later since I am one behind for the month and I may even have something to say…
A Biden knockout…
Well…I just had to comment on the vp debate that was held last night since it was just so damn much fun to watch ole Ryan get called out on his lies and reveal himself to be the hard right hack that he is…from where I was watching, Biden torched him all night…I could have done with a little less laughing from the VP but I think it was an appropriate response to the talking point lies that Ryan was spewing and I applaud the moderator trying to get him to explain the budget numbers that just don’t add up…I would have laughed and smiled, and rolled my eyes, too, after hearing that nonsense. One of the funniest lines of the night didn’t come from the debate but from Bill Maher’s twitter feed…”someone call 911…there’s an old guy beating up on a kid on tv..” I laughed my butt off about that one…and the fact that 51% of the people in the CBS poll thought Biden won…go get ’em Joe…
October 12th
Well…it was a pretty good day yesterday with the Tigers finally winning the series against the A’s and Verlander looking good doing it…but, that kept me up late and one too many cocktails have me feeling a little slow this morning….and, it is a grocery run day on the day after not eating enough so that just compounds the problem….but, I guess I’ll just suck it up and get it done…I may have a lunch with T today and that is something to look forward to…more later…
Okay…I’m back while I wait for the car to melt…no lunch with T today and I am a little disappointed but I think I may live through it…I am going to meet up with K later…haven’t seen her in weeks and I can’t wait to see how big she is with the baby due in about a month….it was disappointing to see the neighbor having to scrape the ice off her car today….not ready for that crap yet…
The Republicans are the problem…
Well…I have been thinking about the erosion of faith in public institutions and, listening to and reading the news as much as I do, there is one inescapable conclusion to be drawn…the repubs are the problem. From the obstructionism in the repub controlled house that has not passed a jobs bill in the past two years but have voted to repeal Obamacare over 30 times…to the incessant questioning of statistics that don’t go their way, these folks are undermining the American way of life as much as any terrorist can….and now, today it was announced that there is going to be an investigation in the drop in the unemployment percentage that happened last week since ole Rush and his ilk “know” that the books have to be cooked since the “gut feel” of people like Jack Welch just tells them the number is wrong. How about this: instead of investigations, why don’t the repubs just look at the math and ensure that the methodology of the calculation is the same as it has always been…something I’m sure they will find is true…but no, that would be too easy and you can’t attack the president or get media coverage looking at a math problem…or maybe it is the fact that they don’t believe in math at all…after all, these are the folks that are building a faith based budget that has no basis in reality…and people are buying it…geez…
October 11th
Well…running really late today since the cleaning bug bit early today and I have been trying to get the oven to look like it hasn’t been painted brown…and that takes a toll on the skin since real men don’t use gloves and oven cleaner is really great at removing all the oil and turning hands into leather…and that follows getting the living room done yesterday…I finally have gotten rid of the spiders and cobwebs and dust so I feel good about that…I did skip riding yesterday with it being so cold but today will be different…I do need to work out here in a minute and keep up the progress in the kitchen…and today it will be scrubbing the floor with a scrub brush…so, I should get going…I am a little disappointed that the Tigers lost last night but we have Verlander tonight so it should be a good, one game playoff…more later…
A little more noodling…
Well…I have been cleaning all morning and my living room finally looks like it should and the cobwebs and dust are finally gone…so I thought I’d sit down here for a sec and see if anything comes to me….I find it funny that no one is calling ole Mitt out on the fact that he is pretending to be a moderate now and taking moderate stances on abortion and other issues that are in direct conflict with what he has been saying for the past year…as I’ve said before…this guy just has no core and has raised pandering to a whole new level…finally, I think Obama has figured out what he has to do at the next debate and that is to go after Romney and his lies….okay…not feeling it right now so I’ll come back and do a better one later…
Okay it is later and after reading a little I do have just two short ones to add…ole Mitt is at his callous best again with a talking point stump speech where he is using the death of a Navy Seal that he met once to show his support for the troops…the problem with this speech is that the mother of the Seal has specifically asked ole Mitt to stop using her son for political gain…and, of course, ole Mitt is so tone deaf that he just keeps on using this young man’s death to try to make himself seem more compassionate…what a cruel excuse for a human being….especially from a draft dodger that spent the years of Vietnam on a “mission” to convert people in France, using his dad’s political connections to get two deferments so he didn’t have to live up to his responsibilities to the country…geez….okay, that’s only one…I’ll get to the other one later in a separate post…

Well…it was a day yesterday and I won at pool again so that was okay…stayed up late to watch the Tigers lose so I am a little worn out today…so that means no out for coffee…just going to get the papers and then come back here to read them…being out with the top down on the car has left me wind burned and with the allergies in full burn today leaving me miserable this morning…so, I’m going to go get the papers and come back for some caffeine…more later…
