Well…I just can’t get the outrage machine working today so I think I’ll talk a little sports instead…first, I was just about in shock yesterday when the Lions came back to win it in the last few minutes…but, as I said earlier, they are going to give me a heart attack if they don’t stop this nonsense. I mean, if they can score two touchdowns in the last 5 minutes, where the heck were they for the first 55 minutes? I guess the only thing we can do is just go along for the ride and hope it continues. Then, we have the Wings who have been playing so hard lately that even when they lost last week, I was still pretty happy with what was going on…so darn entertaining that I hope they keep it up…especially now that they are third in the Western Conference and making a run at the top. west coast swing is going to be tough on the watching with the games starting at 9:30 at the earliest…especially after a couple of cocktails…but, it’s a bad problem to have….more later…

Well…it was a lazy day yesterday and I didn’t really do much but watch the Lions…and the had another one of those late comebacks that is going to give me a heart attack at some point….slept okay but no dreams again so that is a little disappointing but there really isn’t anything to do about it….not much to do today…oh, I do have things to do…going to get my hair cut and then out to get a rib roast that is on sale for 3.99 a pound…or some ribs that are only 99 cents per pound….okay, so I don’t have a lot to do…but, that is something…more later…
December 18th
Well…I’m running late again but that’s how it always is on Sunday so you shouldn’t be surprised…I has such a fun night last night at G’s for the annual holiday dinner but I think I may have been a little obnoxious at the end of the evening..oh, well….I don’t get out much and my social skills are a little rusty…I should feel a lot worse than I do so that is a plus, though. I did stink this place up yesterday making the dish I took and it may be quite a while and a lot of Febreeze before it gets better…there was so much smoke from a spill in the oven that I had to open the doors and windows to clear it…not much to do today…I am going to get on the bike after it gets above freezing to prevent the shifter freeze up debacle that happened last time….and then there are the Lions that might just have a chance today…maybe they can be like the Wings and their great win last night…more later..or not…who knows?
The republicans are at it again here in Michigan…
Well….if you didn’t know it, the culture wars are alive and well here in Michigan with the passage of a couple of bills that were proposed here by the repub controlled legislature….the latest nonsense comes from the supposedly business friendly Snyder and his team who are now targeting private businesses, making it illegal to offer health benefits to non married partners and same sex couples. Why are these idiots still fighting this culture war when even businesses and their owners don’t see this as a problem? It’s just another example that the Michigan Taliban (aka the republicans) are all for freedom and individual choice when it is for someone they agree with but will use the full force of their government position to punish those they don’t. How is this making Michigan more competitive? How is this creating jobs? If governor Snyder is serious about making Michigan more competitive, he should veto these bills…geez….
December 17th
Well…it was a good day yesterday with the car getting fixed and a nice lunch with T but I am still kind of puzzled how I lost yesterday’s post. Had the funniest thing happen on the bike ride yesterday…after I ran through a puddle, the shifters froze up and I had to ride it back 4 miles with it stuck in a low gear…but that wasn’t the weirdest part…when I got back here, I had been running the dryer while I was gone and there was a lot of moisture in the air, and when I got the cold bike parked ice started forming and dropping off it onto the towel I parked it on. Strangest thing I’ve seen in a while…I guess I’ll have to make sure it’s over freezing when I go out…no dreams or anything to report but I was up at 5 or so and that is starting to become a habit I don’t like too much. Not much to do today…I do have the big party at G’s at 5 that I am making shrimp fettucine for and it is always one of the most fun parties of the year with way too much wine and laughing…plus the Wings are on tonight so it should be a good day. I will have another one here in a couple of minutes…
December 16th
Well…I am trying to recreate this one from this morning since it just disappeared from the site and I can’t find it. It was a fun day yesterday with going out with Tom and shooting pool which I lost for the second week in a row. I did get out with K, too and saw some people I haven’t seen in quite a while…had a lot of fun….I did get the car fixed this morning but who knows how long that is going to last? You know…I just can’t remember what I wrote this morning so I’m just going to write this one off and go make a cocktail…

Well…it’s been another day where my outrage has died a little more and that is the major reason that the political stuff here has dwindled so much. It’s not like I haven’t been trying, but life and the mundane has been occupying my head way too much and has crowded out most other thoughts. It didn’t help that I didn’t get the papers today but I had to get the car fixed first thing in the morning when I normally would have been getting coffee and reading. And, the online papers are just not enough to get me fired up…so, I’m going to end today with the same old tired promise that I’ll get better at this and get back to the high energy, lucid stuff I used to write….I may even come back to this one later tonight after I have the first cocktail…who knows?
Okay…I did just have a tiny little flicker of outrage….the repubs are at it again…they are holding up the payroll tax cuts that would benefit working Americans and keep the recovery going just to reward their rich backers in the oil industry by betting the polluting Keystone pipeline approved. Have you ever seen a more naked grab for the rich than this? Geez….

Well…I guess I’ve never told you why I’ve stopped quoting lyrics in my daily posts here and I really want to share that with you guys….I have gotten a few e-mails from record companies telling me that I am violating their copyrights by using the lyrics…even though I make no profit from this stuff….so, I guess I’ll challenge them to come after me…I don’t really have anything left for them to take so what the hell….

Well…in case you haven’t heard, there is a new military spending bill wending it’s way through the congress that has a very troubling provision in it…in the guise of fighting terrorism, there are provisions in this bill that will essentially gut the constitution and make it no longer applicable to yours or my rights as citizens of the US. What this bill will allow the government to do is detain indefinitely, any US citizen, even caught on US soil who is even suspected of any connection with terror or terrorist support. The government would not have to present any proof that this person had committed any crime and the person held would have no recourse to challenge the detention…in direct contravention to the 4th amendment, and habeas corpus. This means that the president would have more power than King George the Third who we fought in the revolutionary war and could lock our citizens up in the equivalent of the Tower of London. The worst part of this is this is bi-partisan nonsense with even dems like Carl Levin of Michigan supporting this egregious destruction of our civil liberties. I need you folks to write to your legislators and Obama and tell them in no uncertain terms that you will not accept this destruction of what this country stands for…I have…geez….
December 15th
Well…it was a day yesterday and I never set foot out of this place…but, that won’t be the case today….it was okay, though, with the “Heroes” marathon I was on….it really helped pass the time and it is not a bad show….might even make paying for Netflix this month worth it….and with it being a no cocktail night…I feel okay and I’m looking forward to the day…not much to do today…I do need to go out for groceries in a few minutes and I skipped working out yesterday so I’ll have to do that…and I may have a couple later with K…haven’t seen her for a couple of weeks and that would be nice….it is going to be hard to spend the money for groceries today, though, since I’ll be spending money I don’t have….but, I do need to have food that is not fish…more later….
Oh, I do have another one for later….about the latest attempt to shred the constitution…and this one is bi-partisan…
