Well…if you were ever wondering what the ultimate result would be of trump’s demonizing of the media and calling for them to be beaten or murdered if they wrote things he didn’t like, we saw that in the past day when a reporter that worked for the Washington Post was kidnapped and murdered by the Saudi Arabian government…and trump’s only reaction is that we have an arms deal with them that is more important than a reporter…imagine just for a moment what would have happened if any other president had reacted that way…there would have been congressional hearings and every damn senator from both parties would be sponsoring legislation that would prevent any more arms sales to the murderers…but what did trump say? This: “what about the people who have jobs making these weapons?” Yep, the only thing he cares about is the businesses who make weapons and his cronies that run them…and don’t believe for one minute he gives a damn about any worker…just look at the 40,000 people that are losing their jobs at Ford from the idiot boy’s tariffs. This murder is direct result of trump’s rhetoric about reporters and news organizations and the constant hate that he spews at his “rallies”…and the fact that he talks this way gives all of the autocrats in the world a green light to murder anyone they choose since they know trump is going to give them a pass on it if they can bribe him or his kids with business deals….but, he is still responsible…and the repubs will again do nothing…impeach…

An update….
Well…nothing earth shattering in this update…just sitting here waiting for the temp to come up and the rain shower to stop so I can get on the bike so I thought I’d come here as I have my last cup of coffee for the morning…it did rain last night but the water int he tops is no worse than after I drained some of it yesterday so it appears that the top repairs are almost successful so far…now, I just need to have it dry out so I can finish the repairs…I did go over to Meijers to get the turkey breast but they were out of them…grrr….but, one of the people who work in the meat department subbed another brand so I got a better one for the same price and that was cool…and I just checked and I can brine it in the instant pot pot and don’t have to drag out the huge roaster that I use for whole turkeys…and this one is over 7 pounds and still fits fine in the cooker so I can’t wait to cook it tomorrow…hope it thaws in the brine overnight….more later…
October 12th
Well…up early again today with getting out of bed at 5:40…got a text from T around then but that is not what woke me up…was already doing my final flop of the day to try to sleep some more but knew it wasn’t going to happen so I just gave up and got up…slept okay last night even with flipping all night but I feel a little odd today…think it may be another instance of not eating enough yesterday and that normally happens when I have fish for a meal and overestimate the calorie content…I did find a leak in the top on the car yesterday and spent part of the day figuring out where it came from and trying to do some repairs…will have to wait for a few days for it to dry out to complete them but it is not supposed to rain so that should work out…although it is raining right now…I hope the start of the repairs will keep out any additional water….now that I think of it, I think the leak was there most of the summer but it just didn’t dawn on me…oh, well….I do have an errand to run this morning…Meijers has turkey breast on sale for 99 cents a pound and I need to get one small enough to cook in the instant pot…but that will still be about 6 pounds…need to brine it overnight and I hope that thaws it…and I need to get my Mega tickets for tonight since the jackpot is almost 600 million….not much to do today…I do need to dig out the cold weather clothes for the bike today since the high is only going to be 43…and it was cold and brutal on the bike yesterday…more later….
Knock off another 600 points…
Well…when I posted about the Dow this morning, it was only down about 100 points and I thought there may be a recovery in the offing…but, I was wrong…it’s down another 600 points today and that makes almost 1500 points in two days..or, almost 6% down…so if you had 100,000 dollars in your IRA yesterday, you only have 94,000 dollars left…tired of all the winning yet? This is what you get when you have an economic ignoramus surrounded by idiots who are setting policy in this country…I feel kind of okay that I had to burn through my IRA over the past 10 years to stay alive…no stress for me…
First red meat in a month…
Well…as part of trying to get my cholesterol down some, I have cut red meat out of my diet…and that includes both beef and pork…that is, until today…I found a couple of pork chops in the freezer that needed to be used so I made one of them for lunch today…not sure if I feel guilty about it or not but I still have another one in the fridge that I’ll have to make tomorrow…one of the problems with not eating pork anymore is the fact that it is so cheap…they have pork loins on sale for 1.15 a pound tomorrow and I am getting tired of chicken…but, they also have turkey breast on sale for 99 cents a pound so I guess I can live with that….I mean, 6 pounds of turkey for 6 bucks? Can’t really pass that up…oh, and I did have red meat a couple of weeks ago…but, it was venison and it’s so lean that I’m not going to count it as red meat….I DO get to make the rules after all…
How’s the IRA looking today, trump voters?
Well…this is just going to be a short one on the crash in the stock market over the past two days…or should I say bloodbath in the stock market? In just the past two days, the Dow is off almost 1,000 points with all of the other major indexes following suit…almost 6% loss in two days and my question is: how’s the IRA or 401K looking today, trump voters? Had enough winning yet?” It appears that the people who know are bailing out of the trump economy since they know that the huge tax cuts for the rich are not sustainable and killing 40,000 Americans a year by deregulation isn’t either…if you ask any credible economist…no, not Arthur Laffer, no one in the WH knows anything about how the economy works or even asked what their bull in a china shop tariffs would do…because they just don’t care…trump just wanted to look tough on trade and didn’t and doesn’t care who it hurts. The really scary thing is that if this is the full blown crisis that has been predicted, who the hell is going to fix it? Nothing but clowns in the WH so this one is going to hurt the people who voted for trump..and I am laughing about it..other than the collateral damage it is going to do to the sane people, it couldn’t happen to a dumber group…impeach…
October 11th
Well…up too damn early again today so that puts me out of synch with the normal Thursday schedule where I don’t come here until after I do the grocery run…but, not today…have an hour before I can head out so I thought I’d get this done first…back to the iffy sleep that I have had for years and that just shouldn’t be with doing 46 miles on the bike yesterday…oh, well…won’t bitch any more about that…had an okay day yesterday but didn’t get much done other than cook some fish and look for houses with no luck…again….but, I will keep it up again today…and clean some…it looks like it’s going to be an iffy couple of days with the weather and I am not ready for that yet…so, I may have a few days off the bike and I could use one or two to repair the damage to my legs from yesterday…just have a dull ache that I may have to take something for but it’s less pain than I expected…not much to do today…I am going to clean after the bike ride but that is about it…the wind is already blowing over 20 so it may be a little brutal on the bike but at least it’s out of the West which will help on the first leg out…more later….

Well…another day, another one of the “best people” in the idiot trump’s administration resigns…just the other day, Nikki Haley, the ambassador to the UN decided to call it quits for some reason that the pundit class is spending way too much time trying to figure out…it’s actually quite simple…there are two things that spurred this decision in my opinion…one, there is now an ethics investigation into Haley for using donors private planes for government travel…as an aside, is there one damn person that trump has hired that isn’t under an ethics investigation? That’s an easy one…nope. Now number two…with the election coming in fast and the probability that the dems take at least the house, the grifter window is fast closing and Haley needs to grab some of that sweet, sweet wingnut welfare that failed members of trump’s “administration” are lapping up around her..before the investigations start that will fatally tarnish anyone who is still around after the election..and that dovetails nicely with the reporting that Haley is in debt of up to a million dollars and she really can’t pay that back on an ambassador’s salary…even with the government picking up her 47,000 dollar a month apartment rental in NYC. So, don’t believe a word when trump says that her reason for resigning is “private”…it’s clear as a bell to anyone who can think just a little bit…and it looks like I still can…yay! Impeach….
46 miles on the bike today…
Well…have been working on a topic for this afternoon but nothing has seemed worth the effort…I think I’m experiencing news overload again and that is hampering my ability to make sense of anything today…so, I’ll put that on the back burner for now and go back to something that I do understand…with the weather being so nice today, and probably for the last time this year, I got out on the bike early…and with taking some ibuprofen before I left, I really had no pain through the first 20 miles and felt so good that I thought I’d turn around and run the route backwards to add another 20 to the total…and then I took a few side trips on trails that I normally don’t ride and that added up to a total of 46 miles for the day….by the end, my legs had started to hurt some and it took a lot of energy out of me so I am now just taking it easy to rest a little…and it just dawned on me that I can eat an extra 600 calories today with the added mileage…so, I think I’ll have an apple right now while I continue to think of a topic…and I might be back later for another one if I do…
October 10th
Well…running early again today and this getting up at 5:30 is getting really, really old….and I am feeling really old today with all of the low level soreness that I have had the past few days…going to take some ibuprofen before the bike today to try to get the kink out of my neck and get the soreness out of my legs…I did get a few things done yesterday and finally got the top on the car repaired just in time since it is going to rain all day today starting around noon or so and then the temp is going to crash into the 40’s for highs…looks like I’ll have to get my long riding pants out for this weekend and into next week…not looking forward to that….but, it is October so I guess I’ll get used to it…it looks like another day of leftovers today but I do have some fish and two pork chops that I found in the freezer marinating for later today or tomorrow…yeah, I know…pork chops are red meat and I shouldn’t be eating it but I am not going to throw food away…it may be a good day to clean some around here when it’s raining and it is bathroom time again so I’ll probably do that…oh, and I didn’t win the Mega last night but no one else did either…so it’s 548 million for Friday and there is still hope…more later…
