Well….just got the coffee working and wanted to do a short one on an article that I just read on Huff post….the company Switch is putting in a new 1GW solar installation in Arizona that will produce electricity at 4.9 cents a kilowatt hour including the cost of the installation….if you’re not sure if this is good or not, you have to just look at the average cost of electricity from various other sources in Arizona…including coal and gas fired plants that cost consumers there almost 13 cents a KW hour. Now, the repubs and the idiot trump continually bleat that the “free market” is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened but don’t really mean it…doing everything in their power to continue to support the more expensive, dirty forms of energy since they get so much of their political funding from coal and oil companies…but, with people waking up to the cost saving that are available by using solar power, nothing they can do can stop companies from looking at the bottom line and saving their companies money by buying solar power. Coal is going to die no matter what idiot by does…he may be able to delay it some but it is inevitable….

Well…feeling a little crappy today…just worn out and have no energy and I’m not sure why that would be…and I’m tired of talking about that so I won’t anymore….okay, just a bit more….went to bed early last night and that didn’t help…I think all this is from not being on the bike and not getting enough exercise….this is normal for this time of the year….but that’s not saying I like it….only 3 weeks til March…had an okay day yesterday and went out to have a couple with G and that was fun…but started my night way too early and that may be part of why I feel so crappy today…didn’t get a lot done yesterday and I should feel worse about that than I do…I may try to do some cleaning today and I need to get out to run some errands but there is another 4 inches of snow on the car and I just can’t do that yet….not much to do today….just need to ease into it and have more coffee so I think I’ll do that right now…more later….
Defending an abuser…
Well….the repub party continues to sink to new lows after trying to defend the child molester Roy Moore in the Alabama senate election, and now that continues with the full throated defense of Rob Porter, a senior WH adviser who resigned yesterday after revelations of domestic abuse surfaced from both of his ex-wives. This is the party of family values, folks…the party that has beaten the dems over the head with their holier than thou attitudes for the past 30 years but now we see the reality…that they are perfectly fine with hiring abusers just as long as no one finds out about it…and even when it is found out, they continue to support these folks, with Orrin Hatch saying he would hire “as many Rob Porters as he could” and that he is a “fine man”…yeah, no, no man can be a “fine man” if he verbally and physically abuses his wife or significant other…and this is just not up for debate…any incidence of this and that disqualifies you period….and the sick thing is that trump and his cronies knew about Porter’s abuse of both of his exes before they hired him…with this latest expose of how the repubs really feel about women, they have no damn right to lecture anyone on “family values” or morality…they sacrificed that when they elected a serial sexual abuser to the WH and are perfectly fine with it…impeach….
February 8th
Well….running a little late today and that may become a pattern over the next couple of weeks with the Olympics starting this morning with mixed doubles curling at 6….I did get the grocery run in today but I am getting frustrated with both Meijers and FF…I mean, how hard is it to stock stir fry veggies and vermouth? Had to stop at both stores today and that is just damn annoying…I did sleep okay last night and I feel pretty good today but my heel cracks have gotten worse and I have been limping around for the past couple of days…and I think that has affected my back since that is not cracking either…we’ll see what happens later today….didn’t get a lot done yesterday but I think I’ll clean some today and I am going to make some stir fry chicken for lunch….don’t think I’ll do 7 of these again today but you never know….I think I may have covered most everything yesterday….more later….

Well…I have never done 7 of these in a day but the topics just keep inspiring me to comment, so here goes again. Not sure if you heard the new pronouncement from the EU that they will no longer do trade deals with any country that is not in the Paris Climate Accord…yep, the “great dealmaker” and well known idiot trump shot the US in the foot by his moronic withdrawal from the Paris accords…and now, the “great deals” he was going to make with them are gone…the possibility of any deals is gone, too…and that is just another instance where this in over their heads administration didn’t think at all about the consequences of their “America first” bullshit….and the effect of their stupidity and ignorance of how the world works has essentially given leadership on trade, that used to be ours, to China and the rest of the world. I applaud the EU for putting their money where their mouths are….never in my lifetime have I seen the US get out-maneuvered on every level from diplomacy, to trade, to innovation, and leadership in science than I have in the year that trump and his minions have been destroying this country…and it continues…what are you going to do about it, repubs? Again, nothing….impeach….
A ray of hope…
Well…as I said in the personal update this morning, I was going to have a few topics this morning but I don’t remember being this prolific in a single morning. But, there is one more thing that I wanted to talk about that gives all of us who want a functioning democracy a ray of hope….yesterday, two of the objective SC justices refused to take on a case on the egregious repub gerrymandering that has damaged our democracy and has helped them rig elections across the country. What some pundits that follow the court are speculating is that this means that the Wisconsin case that has already been argued has been decided and that it will strike down partisan gerrymandering once an for all across the country; so there is no need to take on any other cases that deal with it. If this is true, this will be the death knell of the repub party that is only in power thanks to this abuse of democracy…and it will ensure fairness and restore trust in the electoral process that has been destroyed by the repubs….I’ll have my fingers crossed….
Bitchin’ about Elon….
Well…I am constantly amazed at what people bitch about these days and how the trolls always try to turn something good into something ugly. This morning, when I got up and checked into twitter to see what was going on, there was a meme developing that was attacking
Elon Musk and SpaceX for launching Elon’s Tesla roadster into space…saying that it was a waste of money, that people are starving and Elon is an ass for launching the car. Now, I have my experience with trolls here on my site that I ignore every day, but I marvel at the ignorance of the commenters on many sites that I read every day….let’s get something straight, this launch was not just to send the car into space for a joke, it was to test a new rocket that will be essential to putting the US back in the lead in space travel and give us the capability to stop using the Russians to get to the ISS, along with the future trips to both the moon and Mars. Scientific progress is made when people support the work that goes into that progress, and to launch a car into space and to livestream it so people can be part of it give us a shared feeling of hope that we are progressing…and SpaceX has been visionary in this work…the last thing: not one dime of tax dollars went into this launch…it was a privately financed scientific experiment that immediately drove us forward…I have this to say to the haters out there…where the hell were your comments when the idiot trump spent $100 million dollars golfing…or when he proposed spending $30 million dollars just to fluff his ego? Until I hear that from you ignorant right wingers out there, just shut the hell up…geez….
Oh, and one last thing to remember…Elon is an immigrant from South Africa who, like millions of other immigrants, has made this country better…and the idiot trump tweeted his support for him Tuesday night…I wonder if that would have happened if he was a black South African? Yeah, we all can guess that one….
A military parade?
Well….with all of the outrages that have come out of the idiot and his administration, the latest has got to be the most un-American thing I have ever heard. The five time deferred, draft dodger, cadet bone spur *president wants to spend 30 million dollars of our money to have the military suck up to him by having a parade of military hardware through DC just so he can look *presidential….and show the world that he just like the rest of the tin pot dictators that he seems to love….never in the history of the country has there been such an insecure idiot sitting in the WH who needs his ego stroked everyday and then throws a hissy fit when it doesn’t happen to his liking…just like his complaint that it was “treasonous” that the dems didn’t applaud his bullshit at the state of the union. When, repubs? When are you going to think of this country just frickin once and put an end to this insanity? Never…it appears….impeach….

Well….we all know that the idiot trump doesn’t read, with daily briefings having to be kept to one page with bullet points or he loses interest…unless they put idiot boys name in every paragraph…and now, with the release of the dem response to the fake Nunes memo, the idiot’s staff is saying that the 10 page response is “too long” for him to read so they will “brief” him on it…I don’t care how long it is, or if it is done in crayon, this moron won’t understand it anyway….now, in my long lifetime, I have never seen a *president that didn’t have the capacity to read 10 frickin pages and understand them…when my kids were 8 years old they could read and understand more than that….and when I was 8 years old I was explaining nuclear war to my classmates in 3rd grade…but that was back in the day when we were proud to gain new knowledge every day, and no one made excuses for the willfully ignorant….but, this is the modern repub party, folks…a party that welcomes Steve King, Devin Nunes, Darryl Issa, and the idiot in chief…impeach…
Not clapping is treason?
Well…sitting here finishing my 3rd cup of coffee and thought I’d do a little comment on the idiot trumps assertion that not clapping for a *president amounts to treason…and again, we are reminded that the repubs still don’t know that there is video tape…as absurd as the whole idea is, that not stroking the ego of the narcissist in chief is treason, I just saw a few times…well, many, many times that the repubs didn’t clap for Obama…including the idiot boy at the white house corespondents dinner and Paul Ryan at every one of Obama’s states of the union…in every one, we see Joe Biden on his feet applauding while Ryan sits there with the “smarmy granny killer” look on his face. So, let’s just agree that it is not “un-American” to stay silent for someone who is a racist asshole and is pushing policies straight out of the gilded age…it is really every American’s duty to expose their contempt for an ignorant ass who conspired with an enemy to steal the election…impeach…
