Well….it was an okay day yesterday and the only thing I got done was the exhaust…but that saga was in another post so I won’t go into that here….did go out to meet G and had many more than a few to celebrate her getting an offer for a new job…and with cocktails here after that, it is going to be a challenging morning….and I forgot to eat dinner so that is going to compound it…oh, well….felt like crap when I got up but the coffee is helping…got a care package on my door this morning from Brian so I have more fish and and venison to eat…might thaw some and have it for lunch….or maybe take some to Tom…not sure yet…not much to do today…pool, of course, but that is about it…I wonder how loud the car will be when I put the top down later?….more later…

This is too funny…
Well…as you know if you have read anything about Ted Cruz, that he is one of the most hated people who has ever been elected to Congress…and this was borne out today with comments when John Boehner was asked his opinion of ole Ted…and, this is a direct quote… “Lucifer in the flesh”…”I never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life…and I have been able to get along with most everyone…” that just made me laugh out loud…I wonder how “Lucifer in the flesh…and the most miserable son of a bitch” would get along with the rest of the government if he got elected? Never mind that he would be in charge of foreign policy and dealing with the rest of the world…he can’t even get along with anyone here so why would he be any better at that? I am just laughing how ole Ted thinks that people hate him because he fights against Washington and the “establishment”…he is hated because he is a sanctimonious asshole….nothing more than that….geez…
Way too loud…
Well….got the car done and this new exhaust is way too loud for me…oh, well…out 180 bucks…I guess I can live with it for a while but I do need to find one that is much quieter…damn….
update: I found an oem super quiet system at rock auto for 130 bucks and ordered it…it comes with a 30 buck rebate so all I need to do is sell the other one for 100 bucks and I will be clear….
Update two: sent a nastygram to the people I bought the exhaust from and they agreed to take it back and return my money…and pay the shipping back….
April 28th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I made a little cash so that was cool….slept okay, too…so I have a little energy today…running early today since I have to have the car in to the shop at 8 for the new exhaust and I hope that goes off with no snags….my shoulder seems to be healing from I’m not sure what but there are still twinges of pain that I’m sure I would have aggravated if I would have tried the exhaust…and, it’s raining out there and I hate to get wet so that is a plus, too….feel okay today with being good for the fourth day now and I may make it 5 today…I am getting used to feeling okay…well…okay but for the allergies that are killing me…had to take something for it in the middle of the day yesterday and that is not normal…not much to do today….just the car and the grocery run then back here for cooking and cleaning….more later….
Dennis Hastert and “family values”…
Well…after getting the car situation straightened out, that leaves me time to come back here and do one of these today….there have been many things happen over the past couple of days that have left me both laughing and shaking my head…where to start? Oh,let’s go with Dennis Hastert getting sentenced to prison for violating banking rules to pay off one of the kids he molested while a high school teacher…yep, the “family values” repub who led the charge to impeach Clinton for his hanky panky with an adult woman has admitted that he is a serial child molester…and the really sick thing is that all of his cronies that were in the house at the time, including Tom DeLay have written to the judge saying what a good citizen he is and to plead for leniency…only in repub world is a child molester a good citizen…just another example where the repubs don’t think the law applies to them and that “family values” trump being a pedophile….not sure if I should add anything else to this…nope, I’ll let this one stand on it’s own…but I will change the title…
April 27th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I got a few things done…but, the exhaust is turning out to be a bigger job than I expected and it will be the last time I ever do it on my own…got the bolts loose but the hangers are corroded, too and I’m not sure how I’m going to get them out….will try this aft but it would be so much easier with a lift….might have to look to see if there are any places where I could rent one for an hour…..crap….other than that, I feel okay today and I am looking forward to having lunch with T…haven’t seen here in a month and that means there will be lots to talk about….this one is going to be short since I am depressed about the car…more later….
Okay…car update…decided to talk to my repair guys this morning and schedule them to hang the new exhaust…only about 50 bucks to do it and that is so worth it…and it takes a load off me….so Tom, pool Friday…
Exhaust update…
Well….had been working for the past few days trying to get the bolts out of the exhaust so I can put the new one on…just couldn’t get them loose no matter what I tried…so I had a brainstorm to take it down to the shop that used to do all the work on the MX-6 and see if they could do it….5 minutes and an impact wrench was all it took to get them both loose and now I can change it out any time I want….it is a little loud since I didn’t want them to re-tighten them so I couldn’t get them off…and, it didn’t cost me anything but I did give them 10 bucks to buy the guys donuts tomorrow…so it looks like tomorrow aft or Thurs I will be changing out the old one for the new and maybe we can shoot pool this week after all….
April 26th
Well….it was an okay day yesterday…got a few things done and my new exhaust came….it looks okay..good welds and if I could get the rusted nuts off, I could change it out here in about 15 minutes….slept okay last night but no dreams for the 2nd month in a row and that is pretty crappy…was good last night and feel good today but I hurt my shoulder working out yesterday so I need to take some ibuprofen to get the swelling in the tendon down..it is grinding and popping and catches with a nice little stab of pain every once in a while….oh, well….at least the rain last night cleaned the car up pretty well and it didn’t leak so I guess I have the top sealed right…I have been thinking about replacing my McGivered coffee maker with a new one….Target has one with a stainless carafe that I can’t break so maybe I will this week…need to get my hair cut tomorrow since the place I go is half price this week…a little early but that’s okay….not much to do today….going to hit the bolts on the exhaust with penetrating oil again and try to start loosening them and then just the normal stuff….more later….
Adding insult to injury…
Well….I know I’ve used this title before, but it fits this post so well I thought I’d use it again…after all there are only so many new titles…as you know…as everyone should know, the emergency manager that was appointed to oversee Flint and it’s water supply tried to save some money buy not spending the $100 a day to treat the acidic water and keep it from eating away the lead pipes and poisoning people. That would have resulted in a cost of about $36,000 a year to keep people safe…but that was just too much for Darnell Early, the idiot that made that decision….after all, austerity is one of the tenets of the repub religion that values money above all else. Well…ole Darnell is back after being removed as the Detroit Public Schools emergency manager…where he slithered after poisoning Flint…and now, he is adding insult to injury to the people of Flint by trying to charge them for his $750 an hour lawyer he needs to fight the criminal charges that he faces….now, you’ve heard of chutzpah before…but this guy’s face should be beside the definition in the dictionary…..and he shouldn’t get a damn dime…what other criminal gets the organization he worked for to pay for defense of his criminal actions? Not another dime out of my taxes for this idiot….geez…
Just some stuff….
Well…another day…and another problem with coming up with a topic for the day…I have done almost 4,500 of these so I guess that would begin to be a problem….I did read a little more of the David Koch interview where he is whining about the tone of the repub candidates and the party in general…laughed a bit a that one since he and his brother are basically responsible for what the repub party has become…the anti science, and anti everyone who is not straight and white party….the only thing I have to say to ole Dave is “you built that”….not really any more politics right now that interests me so I won’t write about it…..we do need to put the kibosh on the pie fight between Hillary and Bernie soon….Bernie can’t win so he needs to be gracious and start working on policy that can realistically be achieved with Hillary as president….and then we start looking for the VP candidate that would help put us over the top….I would love that to be Elizabeth Warren but I’m not sure where her talents would be better spent….she would probably bring along a lot of the Bernie supporters and we can sure use that…and then Bernie can take over pushing financial reform that she is doing now…hmmm….that could be a topic…for later….not now…
