Well…that really sucked…couldn’t get to sleep so I stayed up until after 1 and still got up at the normal time so that makes it about 4 hours of sleep and I am dead this morning…and I feel so sore after being on my feet for 6 hours that I may have to take something for it before I get on the bike…I didn’t get a ride in at all yesterday and I know I didn’t eat enough, either so today looks set up to be a low energy one but I still need to go over and paint the hallway to keep on schedule…and I do need to load the car up since the move date is coming on fast and I haven’t moved enough stuff…needless to say, I didn’t get anything done around here yesterday and probably won’t today, either…I have just so much energy and that needs to be focused on getting the house done…okay, this is going to be a short one since I need coffee and to wd the shifter on the bike before I go out….more later…

Well…the condemnation has been lifted! After the two and a half months of work and getting the windows in today, the inspector came and approved of all of the work and I am now out of the clutches of the city…and the guys who did the windows did a really nice job but they backed their damn truck into one of the aluminum awnings over the windows and crushed it and now that has to be replaced and won’t match the rest of them…but I told my son and he really doesn’t care so I guess I can live with it. For the first time in the life of that house, there was a cool breeze blowing through it with the windows open and that just made it so much nicer…and the windows are pretty cool in that you can take them apart to clean them with just the push of a button. Now it’s just the detail work to do with the bills and getting the water turned on…I did get the gas bill put into my name today and am going to try to get the electric done tomorrow…and my son is working on getting the water turned on since he is the owner and the only one that the city will allow to do it….and that will take almost two weeks so I am bumping up against my deadline of mid October since I still need to clean the entire house before I start putting my stuff in…going to be a busy few weeks…but, not tonight…I am going to reward myself with some cocktails and a little rest tonight..it has been a long day…

Well…damn, up again at 5:04 and I am feeling the lack of sleep today…I think part of it may be stress, too, with having the windows put in today and having the inspector come to approve the repairs I’ve done…I have my fingers crossed that everything will pass and I’ll get the water back on next week…I did check the water heater yesterday and the pilot is still burning so I think I’ll just have to turn it on when the water is turned on and it will work…I do need to get over there by 8 this morning so no bike ride until this afternoon….didn’t get a lot done yesterday but more prep work on the hallway…didn’t want to have fresh paint on it while the installers are dragging the windows in and out so that will wait until tomorrow…can’t wait to see if the washer and dryer still work and then start getting at cleaning the place up so I can plan when the move is going to happen….no later than the second week of October but that means I need to get with Comcast and get internet service started by then…so, still lots more to do but I can see the end of the tunnel…more later…

Well…yeah, I know…I haven’t been doing much on the political front lately but I have an excuse…I have been darn busy with the house and that seems to be keeping me from reading the news enough to get outraged about it lately…I will try to do one later today but just wanted to share a little bit of good news that I just got today…no, I didn’t win the lottery but it almost seems that way to me…with the windows going in the house tomorrow, I thought is would be a while before I could get the inspector back there to approve the repairs but I contacted him today and he will be out tomorrow morning! So maybe, just maybe I’ll have the water turned on by this time next week and be out from under the city’s gaze, too. Tomorrow could be a good day…sure hope so…

Well…didn’t get up until the coffee alarm clock this morning and that made it 6:30 and that is really unusual….I think I may have had too much sleep and that make me really groggy and slow right now…but, I think it may be better later in the day…at least I hope it will…had an okay day yesterday but didn’t do much but watch sports all day but I have work to do at the house so it will be busier today…hoping to get the hallway painted today and some work in the basement done along with prep for the windows going in tomorrow…but I don’t feel like doing anything right now and I hope the coffee kicks in soon so I can get on the bike in a few minutes…one of these days I am going to take the day off of everything but that will probably have to wait until after I move….I did get some cooking done yesterday and that will make today easier since I don’t have to cook…I think there is too much chicken going on, though, and I need to change it up at some point…but not today…more later….

Well…trying to get out early to get some miles in before the F1 race, I looked down at the computer on the handlebars and it read 0 so I took the head unit off and cleaned the contacts, which worked sometimes, but not this time…no matter what I did, it read 0 so I had to come back here and put the new on one so I could make sure that I can record all the miles to get to my yearly goal. I knew it was going to fail at some point with how inconsistent it has been over the past month or so…with it even showing me going 64 mph on the flat yesterday…the only problem with the new one is that you can’t enter the mileage from the old computer but you have to start at 0 and that is a bit of a pain…so, the 3730 miles I had on the old one for the year needs to have 508 miles added on the new one to beat the yearly mileage record…I do like the bigger screen on the new one and I think I have it calibrated to within 5 feet in a quarter mile so that’s better than the old one….I will have to post a photo on facebook of the old and new readouts to prove that I actually did those miles….

Well…as you can see, I didn’t come back for another one yesterday after traveling since it takes a lot out of me…and I was falling asleep on the couch last night at 9 or so but made it to my normal bedtime of 11…and I didn’t climb out of bed until 5:50 this morning so I guess I was a little tired…and it is raining right now so it looks like I may not ride at all today with all of the rain coming in later…if that happens, I don’t think I’ll know what to do with myself today…maybe just cook to get some food prepped for the week…I did splurge and get some bacon for cheap at DD so I do need to make some blt’s but I also have a huge chicken breast marinating for chicken tacos…or bean and chicken burritos…not sure which but I do know I have two more breasts and the three of them added up to 5 pounds so I’ll be able to eat from them for most of the week…or maybe freeze one and cook it later….I do know that I have two tomatoes that need to be used soon but I can think about that later…I do need to get some  equipment set up at the house since the trip to Mt. P was successful and I need to load the car up again today to take another load over tomorrow…and I need to clean around here today but there is F1 and Man U on at the same time at 9 this morning so that comes first…but I will clean today…maybe…who knows? Well…up at 5:30 again today with pretty crappy sleep…or back to the normal pattern and that means I’m going to be exhausted later in the day…even a little right now but I’m hoping the coffee will help soon…it was a nice day yesterday with getting out to shoot pool in the morning and then taking rest of the day off and just vegging out…and only doing one bike ride has helped with the pain and it appears that I’ll only do one ride today with heading up to Mt. P after I get back from the ride this morning…need to get that done before the rain comes in since the tires on the car are getting pretty iffy in the rain and need to be replaced over the winter….the last time I ran it in the rain, it felt like I was driving on snow and the car was very nervous and moving around a lot and that is just no fun…it is nice that it is warm enough to put the top down for the run up and back and I think I’m going to take my earbuds along to actually be able to hear the music over the wind noise…going to miss the Michigan game today with all of the traveling and that is a little disappointing but maybe they will run a replay later…oh, well…more later…
