Well…darn, I wish I could figure out this 3:40 waking up every night…I guess it’s not so bad when I did get back to sleep for a couple of hours…and I know I’m having dreams but I don’t remember them much lately…I wonder if it’s from being good all week? Yeah, 4 days in a row of no cocktails and I think I’ve earned a couple tonight…feel a lot better but I’m still pretty tired this morning and that’s without getting out on the bike yesterday…the wind was just howling out here all day, blowing from 20-30 mph and that is just a bit much to go out…but today looks better but it’s still cold so the ride is going to wait until afternoon….I did get some work done on the yard yesterday…went out to depot and got some topsoil to fill the holes that were in the yard but I only bought 3 bags at 40 pounds each since the Miata is not a truck and it was sagging with that weight so there will be a few trips to fill the holes in the entrance to the back yard and get the prep work done for the garden…going to use potting soil and manure to get that done but I have a month or so before I can plant outside…and I still have seeds from last year that I am going to try to use that I will get started in a couple of weeks…going to plant sunflowers again, too, since I like them and I have a perfect spot for them along the back of the house….I really can’t do much more on the yard for a few weeks since they don’t start picking up yard waste until the middle of April and I don’t really want to store it in the garage until then since the paper bags will degrade in the rain that is going to come if I leave them outside…more later….

This is what happens…
Well…damn, another mass murder, this time against Asian women in Georgia…this is what happens when you have the asshole trump going on and on about the “China virus” Kung flu” and the many many other racial slurs his filthy hole spouted over 4 years that were amplified by every damn part of the right wing media cesspool…6 Asian women are dead because some white asshole decided they weren’t paying enough attention to him so he’d get even by killing as many as he could find…and this goes along with the daily attacks on Asian Americans across this country that are up over 150% in the past year…and the worst part of it is the right wing Georgia sherriff who does a press conference and says that the murderer had a “bad day”….yeah nowhere near as bad as the dead you asshole…god, I just hate these goobers that are part of the good old boy networks that will do their best to excuse any action that is done by a white guy…it’s just a “bad day” that made him murder 6 Asian women…and it’s been revealed that this sheriff has been part of this Asian hatred, liking t-shirts that denigrated Asians and making a joke about it. I’ve had damn enough of these assholes who think just because their life hasn’t worked out to the delusions they have it’s an excuse to take it out on other people…if your life isn’t what you wanted, do something about it…get off OANN and Newsmax and do something about it…I guess it’s easier to just play the victim all the time just as all the damn repubs do than it is to make something of yourself…I’m a non-vioIent person but I hope they fry this asshole…and every damn other one who pops his ugly loser head out from under their rock….geez…
March 18th
Well…another 4:21 wake up but I was able to get back to sleep until almost 6:30 so that was okay…and I feel pretty good today even without getting to the coffee yet….and I don’t hurt as much as I should after all of the beating my hands and elbow took chopping out the vines in the back yard…I guess the ibuprofen worked…I did get a nice ride in yesterday but I am still looking for the trail that goes over to Ravenna since it is not marked or mapped…I know it’s there but I just haven’t found it yet….it looks like I won’t get out on the bike today since there is a gale warning out here in Muskegon with steady winds of 30+ mph and gusts up to 40 and that is way too much to ride through…so, I’m going to hit depot this morning and get yard bags and some topsoil to keep working on the yard…going to have to hit HF in the next few days to get another 100 foot extension cord so I can reach the entire yard and run the string trimmer around the house and fence….that will take a lot of string but I have a lot and will have to load the trimmer a few times to finish the job….so, that’s what I have to do today…but first, I’m going to have coffee and read the news before I get going…have to remember that I don’t have to rush…I have time to do the things I want to and can just putter around here…the yard already looks better than it did and it will continue to get better as I work…more later…
Finally got started on the lawn…
Well…finally, it got warm enough to get started on the lawn today after I got the grocery run finished…one of the big trees in the back by the garage was covered in vines that had woven into the fence and looked like hell…so I got my hatchet and axe out and tore into it and when I was done with the chopping and chopping, I had freed up a piece of chicken wire that I think they were using as a gate across the open part of the back by the garage and had removed all of the vine sprouts so they won’t grow anymore….and then I got started on the leaves but gave up after it got to be after 1 and I wanted to get on the bike for a ride before the rain comes in….now I need to get some lawn waste bags so I can put the vines out and then use my side cutters to cut up the chicken wire so I can put that out with the trash next week….my hands and elbow are sore so I am going to take something for it later but getting progress started made me feel good…I do need a shovel to dig out the broken off fence posts so I will have room to put in a gate later this summer…but that is going to wait a while…need to not push it too much since I am just now getting my back to heal from all of the moving….
A scorched Earth threat?
Well…As talk increases on what to do to reform the filibuster in the Senate to keep moscow mitch from killing all the legislation that country needs to move forward, he has started to threaten the dems with a “Scorched earth” policy that he will use to pass all the things the dems don’t want like militarization of the Southern border, outlawing all abortions and taking voting rights away from everyone the repubs don’t think should vote…you notice that there is not one thing in that list that does anything to move the country forward or help anyone? After the threat was made, the majority whip, Dick Durbin, basically replied with “bring it” and then asked mitch why that is any different from what he did with Merrick Garland’s nomination to the supreme court and mitch calling himself the grim reaper; making sure that popular legislation passed in the house died in the senate when he controlled it. I am happy to see that the dems are still showing a backbone and are meeting threats with promises and action that helps most of the country…and that means reforming the filibuster but doing away with it or, at the very least, making the repubs actually hold the floor by being there and speaking instead of phoning in their objections without doing any work. I’m glad to see the even Joe is getting on board to these changes to get the rest of his agenda passed to protect our democracy from the hundreds of bills that the repubs are pushing to make voting harder for dems especially…it’s about time…
March 17th
Well…that was strange…tossed and turned a bit but didn’t get up til 6;23 and feel pretty good right now…I could get used to being good and feeling this way…I did remember to take an ibuprofen last night and that really helps to get moving in the morning…my elbow still hurts like crazy but that is just the damn tendonitus that has settled there and the only way for that to go away is to not use it and that is not going to happen with needing to get started on the lawn and riding the bike every day…and I did get a good, long ride in yesterday and found a new part of the trail out by the lake that was pretty nice where it goes straight through a cool forest and then loops out to the beach…it was still damn cold, though, and my feet were frozen when I got back here…it is nice that I’m getting a bunch of loops of varying lengths that I can stack together to ride as far as I want every day…and I still need to do the Ravenna ride that will be a 37 mile round trip but that will wait for a while…still need to build up to riding that far after having so much time off the bike this winter…and I need to get a new back tire soon since it is wearing out and I don’t want it to fail when I’m 10 miles away….not much to do today…need to do the grocery run and get a ride in and along with doing a little more yard work to get it prepped for feeding and seeding…but it isn’t going to be warm enough for seeding for a month so I guess that can wait a little….more later….oh, Happy St. Patrick’s day!
Kavanaugh should be sweating…
Well…it looks like the lying drunk Kavanaugh just might have some problems in the future if a dem senator gets his way…just the other day, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse sent a letter to AG Merrick Garland asking him to conduct proper oversight in the FBI’s probe into Kavanaugh which Whithouse contends was “politcally constrained and perhaps fake” and the FBI did their best to make sure that no information detrimental to Kavanaugh was allowed into any report by ignoring witnesses and setting up a fake tip line that sent tips directly to the trash bin. Whithouse also wants to find out who was running the show and what political interference was done and by whom….while this may not get Kavanaugh off the court…it will forever taint his tenure there and maybe, just maybe we could get the senate to impeach the liar…with the repubs, we’d never get a conviction and removal, but then the whole world will know his seat is not legitimate and that will further destroy the legitimacy of the court…and maybe force some reform there? We can hope….
March 16th
Well…damn, woke up to snow cover on my yard and that just sucks…but, I don’t feel too bad after having the first of four nights of being good and not getting out of bed until after 6…but my left calf is stiff all the way down to my Achilles and I’m not really sure why that would be…but I am sore everywhere since I didn’t take any ibuprofen like I normally do at night…or any allergy stuff for that matter and my head is okay today…didn’t get much done yesterday but pay bills and rake some of the bare spot in the back yard to get rid of the tire tracks and prep it for seeding….and today looks like an indoor day with putting more stuff away and sorting out the clothes I want to donate….I may start washing some curtains since I am not ready to start working on windows yet and some of them are pretty dirty…and I may try to get a bike ride in this aft but the wind is going to be nuts again so it may be a short one….again….I am hoping to get the spare bedroom cleared and then try out my grinder with a flap disc to get rid of some of bad paint on the baseboards and then get out a sander to see if that will be enough to make them ready for a new coat of paint without stripping….the walls need work, too, but I’m not sure how much I’m going to repair them…they could all use a new skim coat of plaster but I know I don’t want to do that much work…not much to do today…just going to ease into it and read some news and have lots and lots of coffee….more later…
Darn weather…
Well…this is going to suck…we are now under a winter weather advisory until tomorrow morning at 10….and we are supposed to get a couple of inches of snow and ice so that means I’ll be in all day tomorrow…and I didn’t get much of a bike ride in today…it was just too damn cold and windy to stay out so I limited it to just a run over to the post office to mail some bills and then back here to do a little work on the yard and start prepping for planting grass in the bare spots…but that is going to have to wait until it gets warmer…it looks like I’m going to try to seed the dirt that is there since it looks more usable after I raked it and then I can save some cash on topsoil and only get some to fill the big hole next to the garage that people have been using to drive in the yard….not sure if I’m going to chop out the roots or not…I can get it close to usable by just filling around them and then I can stabilize it with grass after I pack it down with the car….but I do need to spend a bunch of cash this month and into next…almost 2 grand and that is not even with the new ladder I need and the garage door opener and lawnmower….oh, and a broadcast spreader to feed the lawn….so, I need to sit tight for a while and just plan when I can spend some cash….

Well…I think I may have used this topic before, but I think it bears repeating and repeating and repeating….as the relief checks and child’s tax credit along with help for damn near everyone in the country except the rich starts to roll out, not one damn repub voted for help for regular Americans…they fall all over themselves to give unneeded tax cuts for the 1%, but for you and me? Nothing…and you can see how much they care about us by their posturing and bitching and complaining….and they are really going on and on about the dems doing the relief plan on their own without “bipartisanship” but I think they are just pissed that Schumer and Biden learned something about the repubs during the fight for the ACA…that no matter how much you compromise and put repub ideas into any bill, they are still going to vote against it so why take that step? Why waste that time when people are going homeless and hungry? To me, that is the best thing they are finally realizing…that repubs don’t want to govern and don’t have any ideas that would make life better for most Americans…you just have to look at the 300+ bills that are being proposed in repub controlled state legislatures that will gut the right to vote for anyone who is not a repub…that is what they are all about…so dems, kill the filibuster and get the new voting rights act passed…that will kill all of this repub cheating and make for fair elections again…geez….
