Well…if you’re like me, you feel that the wheels of justice are turning way too slowly in holding the idiot trump and his cronies responsible for trying to overturn the 2020 election….but just yesterday, there was some movement when an appeals court ruled that Lindsey Graham has to testify to the grand jury concerning his role in trying to throw out predominately black votes in Georgia…ole Lindsey was trying to use some arcane law that says that reps can’t be questioned in regard to their legislative actions to get a get out of jail free card for anything he does…but calling on the SoS of Georgia to throw out votes is not part of his job and was not done during a legislative session so the appeals court ruled unanimously that his claims were bullshit and told him he has to testify…and now that sets ole Lindsey up for one of two outcomes…either he will testify truthfully under oath which will show that he broke Georgia’s laws against election tampering, or he will take the fifth, essentially admitting that he is guilty of multiple felonies…finally, I hope these maga assholes get what they deserve…at least out of the government but they should go to jail for this attack on democracy in service of the idiot trump…do trump next…geez…

October 21st
Well…damn, can’t get started today and all I want to do is sit her for the whole day….but I won’t…need to get an indoor ride in soon and then make a run out to get food for Monday and some chicken broth that will be my only food Sunday and Monday….not really apprehensive about the procedure but just want it over with so I can get on with my life….slept pretty well last night but it’s only from self medicating and I need to stop that after Monday night and get back to healthy habits….it does look like I’ll be out on the bike later in shorts and a t-shirt if I wait til the afternoon with the high getting to 64 today…need to convert the mower to bag the leaves today and run it over the lawn to start the clean up process…I did get my water bill yesterday and I’m almost back to the normal cost after paying a hundred bucks a month to water the lawn…not sure what I’m going to do next summer when it’s dry…I did so much work to make a lawn that it would be a shame to lose it but maybe I should think outside the box to figure out a new way to handle that…I only have 10 minutes before I need to get on the bike and I’m feeling rushed this morning….that’s pretty weird when I’m retired and really don’t need to anything I don’t want to do….not much to do today…need to get moving and once I start, I’ll be able to muddle through the day and get things done…but it’s going to be a long one….and I just want to sit here…oh, well…more later…
I did it again…
Well…after I went on and on about how stupid it was to go out on the bike in the big wind yesterday and that I’d never do it again it was so brutal…well…I got tempted to do it again today for exactly the same reason as yesterday…I looked out the window and it was sunny and the wind didn’t look that bad up here…but today the wind wasn’t as bad as yesterday…and yep, that means I went out to do an outdoor ride today…and in shorts since it was 50 or so around 2pm…and this time, I was right about the wind…I looked at the weather channel on the tablet and it said that the wind was out of the NW at 8 and I go out in winds that strong all the time with the wind always blowing out here…when I hit the point, it was blowing more than that but I was able to come across it with the bike in 5th on the rear sprockets which is pretty normal and not the brutal 2nd gear pedaling from yesterday…and the rest of the ride was okay going out and fun coming back with the wind at my back the whole way…it was nice to get two rides in today with knowing I am going to have to take Sunday and Monday off prepping for the scope on Monday….and tomorrow is going to be in the 60′s and I may have to mow the lawn to start picking up the leaves…I’m still going to do a downstairs ride since that gets me one ride in before it gets light but I’ll work at doing an outside one, too…and I need to run to Aldis to get a self rising pizza to have after the scope Monday since there is no way I’m going to want to cook….okay, that’s enough for the day…need to get ready for a cocktail and some tv….
Are all of them working for the Russians?
Well…if you needed another reason to not ever vote for another repub, one popped up in the news today…as you’ve probably heard, all of the repubs have been spouting off that they will end aid to the Ukrainians if they take control of congress…and that makes me wonder, are all of them working for the Russians? What is it about Ukraine and it’s people’s struggle for freedom that is so repugnant to the repubs? Starting with the idiot trump’s attempted extortion of them that got him impeached the first time and continuing to today, the repubs have been hating on Ukraine for years and the reason could be as simple as they just love them some putin and are trying to repay him for handing the election to idiot boy and are looking for more help to make sure that a dem never gets elected again….or they could just be selfish assholes who just want the power to hurt people they hate since they show that behavior here in the US every day. As a preview of what the world can expect if repubs get elected, reps of Ukraine met with repub members of congress last week and ole mccarthy assured them that they could count on the US’s continued support…then he went to the press and told the truth when he said that they would end aid to Ukraine if they are in control…it’s taken two years of Biden for the world to trust us again, and you can be sure that the repubs will blow that up if they are in control again…so, people, get out and vote…and not for any damn repub….geez…
The preparation begins…
Well…as of today, the preparation for the colonoscopy begins…have to stop eating anything that has fiber in it for the next two days, and then eat my last food Saturday so it will be two days without any food at all and I am lucky that I do periodic fasts that go a day and a half for practice…and I talked to the doctor’s office this morning to get the loose ends tied up since they sounded like they don’t have any records for me and I can’t figure that out because mychart has all of that stuff in it…hmmmm….and then I talked to my brother who is going to give me a ride there and back so everything is a go for Monday…so now I can relax a bit until the cleanse starts Sunday and continues until 8 hours before the 2:30 procedure Monday…I probably should get a self rising pizza to eat Monday evening so I don’t have to cook anything til Tuesday…so now I go into anticipation mode for the next 4 days and then survival mode for Monday…I AM having cocktails Monday night….no matter what they find…either to celebrate that I don’t have cancer or to drown my sorrows if I do….Oh, well…
October 20th
Well…I think all the effort I put in on the bike yesterday hit me last night and I slept through it…not too sore today but I do feel pretty worn out and I’m not sure if I’ll attempt an outdoor ride today…it’s going to be warmer but the wind is supposed to be about the same as yesterday and that was too brutal for me….it does look like the rain is over for a few days and I need to start thinking about mowing the lawn one last time without having the bag on it to pick up the leaves…. and I need to run the string trimmer one more time so the yard will look neat over the winter….but that can wait a bit…I think I need a day off everything and that will probably be next Tuesday after the scope….who knows, it could be found that I’m dying of colon cancer and then nothing will matter anymore….I wonder how I’ll react to that? Damn, I’ll miss the UK trip if that happens….but I’m not going to worry about that right now….I do need to start eating the right things today to prep for the procedure Monday but I have to read up on that to make sure I do it right….and I have leftovers that need to be used today so that may wait til tomorrow….not much to do today…just going to ease into it with more coffee and some news before I get on the inside bike…don’t have a lot of work that I need to do after that so it may be an easy day…and yeah, I will probably try to get an outdoor ride in, too, because I’m just not too bright…or stubborn…that’s probably a better description…more later…
You’d think I would learn…
Well…when I got up this morning, the pain in my back and legs was much better and I was able to move around quite easily so I got on the downstairs bike before I did the grocery run and got my 8 miles in…and after the run, I still didn’t have a lot of pain so after sitting here for a bit and looking outside to see the sun shining and having some lunch, I decided to give an outdoor ride a try…well…you’d think I’d learn the when the trees are whipping around up here that it is going to be even worse down by the lake…and it was..I barely made it across the point until my legs started to hurt like crazy but I kept going until the front tire started to come apart and was thumping the handlebars, so I turned around to came back here and put a new tire on it…but, when I tried a used tire that I thought was good and it wasn’t so I had to put the last new tire I had and then finally got out again around 12:30 to give it another try and the wind was even worse…but, did I turn around? Of course not…I’m an idiot, after all, so it was straight into the wind all the way out to the beach, straining the entire way just to keep moving…and let’s cap that off with rain…it started when I was almost to the beach and rained so hard I didn’t even stop for a water stop…and when the clouds came over it started to get cold again and 41 degrees in the rain is not a lot of fun…but, I survived it and might even have learned something…don’t go out when it’s cold and windy and raining…should have learned that by now…oh, well…
I just don’t understand…
Well…I know I talk about polls a lot here and sometimes they are accurate and sometimes they aren’t, depending on the structure of the poll and the selection of the sample to poll…but, just the other day, one came out that I just don’t understand…in that poll, almost 70% of the Americans polled thought that our democracy is in danger but that same poll said that most people aren’t basing their votes on that…with inflation and the economy still coming out on top…and I have one thing to say to these people: if we you vote for repubs and we lose our democracy in three weeks, inflation and the economy are going to be the least of your problems…as the repubs are now saying openly, if they take back the house, they are going to hold the world hostage by defaulting on our debts unless they get enormous cuts to Social Security and Medicare along with Medicaid…and they are not stopping there…they are coming for the affordable care act that has helped over 20 million Americans afford health insurance and all of the good things that come from the inflation reduction act like 35 dollar a month insulin for seniors will be gone and they will try to pass a nationwide abortion ban that will take women’s control of their own bodies away from even the states like Michigan who have a constitutional amendment protecting women on the ballot in November….I just don’t understand how this is not a hair on fire moment for ever damn person in this country….do you think the repubs will do anything about inflation? Or the economy that they have crashed every damn time they’ve been in control? Not a frickin chance since they will be too busy investigating their enemies and impeaching Biden to do anything for normal Americans…so get your head out of your asses voters…inflation is not the most important thing on the ballot…especially since more than half of it is just price gouging by big corporations…and do you really think that the repubs will do anything about that? Nope…geez…
October 19th
Well…damn, I think all the dust that got in my eyes yesterday has done some real damage to them…they are still full of crap and blurry and I hope that clears up later today…my back is still quite stiff from it but the rest of the pain is manageable and not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be today…and I still feel good that I still have the capability to bend like I had to getting into the edges of the attic near the eaves….you are not supposed to be able to do that at my advanced age….slept okay last night but was up at a little before 5 and I really thought I’d sleep better with all the work and riding the downstairs bike yesterday….going to get back on the bike this morning before the grocery run so that needs to happen here in the next half hour or so and I’m not ready for that yet….need to get on the work for the trip today to make sure I have all of the suggestions ready for next week’s meeting and I also need to do the recon run out to Holton road for the scope on Monday today, too…but I’ve got all day to do that….have to do the grocery run today, too, but I really don’t have much to get this week since I won’t be eating two days for prep…and I need to get on mychart for the instructions on what to eat starting tomorrow…damn, I can’t wait til Monday night and having the damn thing over….but then I have more dental and doctor appointments the first week of November and I just want all of them done so I can relax a bit…I think I’m going to delay the dental work since my teeth don’t really hurt anymore and I think it’s stupid to remove teeth that are still solid and that I can still chew with….not much to do today…just the grocery and recon run and then I’m going to sit here a while and get some organization going for the trip…with working hours on the house for the past couple of days, I need to take some time to heal up a bit before I get started on the dining room….more later….
Got the insulation done….
Well….after I got back here from errands, I had my last cup of coffee and it was only 10:30 so I decided to get back to working on the insulation upstairs…and I am still marveling that the previous owners took a look at the piles of fiberglass batts that came from the underside of the roof when it was replaced and just shot cellulose blow in insulation over the tops of the piles….and they left probably 25% of the plaster bare with no insulation at all and then piles of batt and blow in that were 3 feet deep….so I dug all the batt out of the piles and stuffed in down between the joists and then spread the blow in over it and now there is not an inch of the attic floor that is not covered…and then I cleaned up all of the crap that was left from putting the roof on and the rotten old paper from the batts and dragged that out to the trash so at least it looks better than it did…and, over the winter, I’m going to tap into one of the electrical boxes up there and put some lights up with a switch next to the door so I don’t have to use a flashlight or an extension cord with my portable light…I think it’s going to take a few days to get over all the dust in my lungs and eyes and the dust mask I was using was black when I finished…and I’m sore again so I’m taking the rest of the day off….it’s 1:30 and I have been going since 7:20 this morning and that’s enough…maybe more later….
