Well…how the hell can it be 28 degrees when it’s almost May? This is going to be one of those years where the is no spring and I don’t like that at all…it should be in the 70′s every day and it won’t even get into the 60′s today…got the results of the MRI on my mychart page and I think it’s more serious than my urologist is letting on…not sure how long I have but it has triggered a huge bout of depression this morning…one troubling finding is that I have a “U shaped kidney” and I don’t even know what the hell that is….it appears that the cancer has not spread but I don’t think they should put the results on the mychart page until the doctor sees it and can explain it…had an okay day yesterday but I know I didn’t eat enough but who cares? And why am I working so hard to stay in shape when it doesn’t really mean anything? I am going to cook a pizza today in the new toaster oven and figure out what I need for sausage tacos that I want to make over the weekend….I sure hope I can get to the UK trip before I start feeling the cancer….not much to do today…I have no motivation to get on the bike and it’s almost 8…maybe by 9? I am going to have to mow the lawn at some point and that might be today with the rain that is coming in for the next few days…it’s going back down into the 40′s for highs for a few days and that is even more depressing…this is not going to be a good day….more later…

I like the new oven…
Well…I’m still a little surprised that I was able to get the new air fryer toaster oven a Target today and the deal was even better than I thought…it’s normal price is 109 bucks and I got it for 59…used it to make lunch today and it got the fries crispy in only 18 minutes from frozen…and then I used it to cook a piece of the sweet Italian sausage to test it out and I really like it quite a bit and at 1.49 a pound, it is a steal…I am going to use it to make some lasagna over the weekend and I had a suggestion from one of the Mastodonians to use it to make tacos and I think it would be great in a soft taco with onions, green pepper, cheese and tomatoes…so I may go out and get those ingredients Friday and give it a try….I bet it would make a great omelet, too…it has been a busy day for me with the grocery run to 5 stores, getting a ride in, and then getting the sausage cut up and in the freezer…I love my new prep table…it was so spacious with the shelf that I could lay 10 pounds out and still had room to do the cutting and bagging on the top even with the new toy on it….so a good day and it is going to be an easy night for me and getting things back to normal…
Nothing but greed…
Well…all through the tech sector, tens of thousands of people have been laid off and we hear nothing but whining from the companies that they can’t afford to keep them on, their going broke, and lots of other bullshit…and one of the worst is google who have been cutting people hand over fist since they don’t have enough cash flow to preserve their jobs…but, maybe the would have if they wouldn’t have spent 70 billion dollars for stock buybacks that started in April of 2022 and continue to this day…and we all know who stock buybacks benefit and it sure isn’t the remaining workers…it is a clear transfer of wealth to the rich that was illegal 30 years ago but the repubs repealed that law…of course. This is nothing but pure greed from the owners of Google and I think they are doing it now since the prospect of the dems taking over the entire government in 2024 is pretty good and the dems have said they will make these upward transfers of wealth illegal again…and the rich want to steal as much as they can before that…geez…
April 26th
Well…man, I feel worn out today with all of the stress from the MRI yesterday…not sure how lying on my back for 40 minutes wears me out but it does….have a lot to do this morning but I didn’t eat enough yesterday to support it…I mean a half of a chicken breast for the whole day? I feel like I’ve lost more weight so I guess that’s something…need to have some toast before I head out and I need to order the toaster oven from Target so I can pick it up this morning…and DD has sweet Italian sausage for 1.49 a pound so I need some of that…but you need to buy 10 lbs so most of that will be for the freezer…so that will be five stops today including Menards to get some potting soil so I can plant this weekend…not sure when I’m going to get on the bike today but I would like to ride outside if it warms up enough…and the lawn is going to need to be mowed again before the weekend so that is going to be on the schedule…the garden has been under plastic for two days but it needs to be uncovered after I get the errands run today…have a bunch more seeds that need to be planted so that will be a project for the day if I can summon up the energy for it….more later…
Got through it…
Well…lying on your back inside a really loud tube for 40 minutes is not as fun as it sounds…but I survived it and the nurses who were taking care of me were very nice…they did do what everyone does when they try to draw blood or find a vein in my arms…they started with the right arm and missed the vein and I already have a bruise starting there and where they then move to my left arm to inject the dye…that left a huge bruise, too, and it bled like crazy…now all I have to do is wait 6 weeks to talk to my urologist…cocktails now…
More copays…
Well…just found out that I had to pay a 225 buck copay for the MRI today and that sucks…I think I’ve had 4 grand go out just for my health this year and I sure hope that stops soon…still doing okay on cash so I guess I shouldn’t bitch too much since most people can’t even afford the 225….I did do a recon run to find out where things are at Trinity this morning after the run to DD…got a couple of self rising pizzas for 6 bucks so that makes it about 1.50 a meal and that’s pretty cheap….have the first ride in for the day and I’m not sure if I’m doing two…it’s damn cold outside so it will be inside if I do…have to prep for the MRI at 5 and that is not going to be pleasant…oh, well…
April 25th
Well..darn…went out last night to see if there were any aurora and nope…it was even clear in patches so I could see the moon and one of the planets near it…oh, well…went to bed late and then was up at 4:04 so I’ll count that as 4 hours last night…but I did climb back into bed until almost 7 and I think that added about an hour so lets make it 5 hours….got a bunch of stuff done yesterday on the lawn but my hands hurt some from sawing and chopping so they need to be taken care of today…so it will be an easy one today as I wait for the MRI this evening…might run over to DD and pair that up with a recon ride to the hospital so I know where I’m going today….not going to eat much today but I am going to cook the big ribs I have in the fridge so I’ll have something for later if I want it…I was good last night but won’t be tonight when I get back here….it is snowing out here so it’s a good idea I covered the garden last night but most everything in it is not going so it all needs to be replaced…have the stuff to do it downstairs but I have to remember that I need to dig big holes and fill them with potting soil to give them a chance to take off….going to start the day off with an indoor ride and then think about a second one…but probably just think about it…more later….

Well…with the big solar flare that happened last night, there is a possibility that there will be some Northern Lights that will be visible here in Michigan…there was supposed to be some last night but it was cloudy here and it’s supposed to be partly cloudy tonight but I am going to go out and look up anyway…you never know when a clear patch can come over….haven’t seen any for 30 years or more…fingers crossed….

Well…not sure if you’ve heard that Bed, bath, and beyond just filed for bankruptcy the other day or if you’ve heard what the management did shortly before that filing but it is one of the worst things I have ever heard….the company had been flailing around for years as they couldn’t figure out how to make a brick and mortar store move into the present and defend itself from online retailers like Amazon…that same shitty management is the one that declared bankruptcy but not before they stole a billion dollars from the company in the form of stock buybacks and direct cash payments to management while long term employees got nothing…no notice, no severance, no health insurance, no nothing for anybody but the owners and managers. It is just plain greed that these people are allowed to gut the company and enrich themselves while their creditors and employees are left holding the bag…typical American business practices…all of the management should be in jail for theft…geez…

Well…it’s a small bit of good news but it IS good news…it was just announced the fox news has fired tucker carlson effective immediately…not sure what the reason is but I don’t care…anything that gets that asshole off the air is fine with me…and he has now been fired by every national cable company…MSNBC, CNN, and fox…and his rabid fans are reacting typically, by threatening fox with boycotts and even investors are reacting…driving the share price down by almost 20% in trading today…ha, ha, ha….787 million dollar settlement to Dominion and now another couple of billion down the drain…couldn’t happen to a worse family but I won’t be happy until the murdochs are penniless and living on the streets….geez…
