Well…with the first and only ride in this morning, I hit the goal of riding 100 miles for each year of my age…7,105 miles so far and I still have almost 4 more months to ride…still have the goal of riding every day to meet and if I can get 1,500 more miles in, I will have ridden 20,000 miles in the last three years…lots more than I’ve driven my car…I’ll come back later for some stats on the year but I need to make lunch and go to the beach…more later…

September 5th
Well…damn, running late this morning with not getting out of bed til almost 7…have been sleeping pretty well…for me…and that is just so unusual I’ve been trying to figure out what the heck has changed to allow me to do that…it’s been 30 years since I’ve slept well and I wonder if it has something to do with the weight I’ve lost? Whatever it is, I still feel worn out today and it’s going to take a while to get moving….have a lot to do today even with just doing one ride to get to the goal today…can’t figure out why I’m sore from head to toe with a dull aching pain that is punctuated with sharp ones from my knees and elbows….just old, I guess…need to get on the bike in 30 minutes or so but I’ll be juggling time to get everything done today…I do want to hit the beach for the last time this summer but need to go to the library, city hall, depot, and Kohls so I’ll be pretty busy…and I do need to cook today but I’m not sure what that will be…want to make some more pasta salad and I took the last of the burger out of the freezer to make tacos but that won’t be til tomorrow…it’s going to be cold starting tomorrow with highs in the 60′s and lows in the 40′s but then it will warm up again….summer is winding down and I wonder where it went…more later…
Almost there…
Well…after doing three rides today, I only have a little under 8 miles to ride to get to the goal of 7,100 miles…and I still have almost 4 months to continue to add miles so it’s easy to say that this will be the record year that I will never attain again…it has been a heck of a lot of work to get to this point and I am so darn sore today since I only came back here to refill the water bottle and then right back on the bike…and I went pretty hard the whole way…I do need a light day with how badly I hurt everywhere so I’m thinking I may just do one ride tomorrow since I have a lot of things I need to get done…have to hit the library, pay the water bill and taxes at city hall, and I want to go out to Kohls to look for end of summer clearance sales since I do need some new shirts and maybe a pair of shorts that actually fit me…and the soles my riding shoes are worn down to flat so they won’t grip the pedals anymore so I’ll take a look and see if I can find a new pair of those, too…
Trying to find a topic…
Well…have been so darn busy today with doing the grocery run and then getting three rides in that I haven’t been able to find a topic…yet…okay, here’s one…I am a little confused why Kamala Harris is only up by 13 points with women…who are the women who would vote for a rapist who ended Roe? With the idiot trump’s running mate spouting off ever day about women and how they should be put in their place and not even be allowed to vote…please show me the woman who wants that? I wonder if they are asking the right questions in the polls…like “would you vote for a candidate who wants to take away your right to vote like he did Roe? I know being up 13 points is historically a lot but it should be 23 or 100…it’s still a close race and it shouldn’t be…and I’m going to be nervous until the day after the election…geez…
September 4th
Well…damn, I’m sore this morning and I could barely pour coffee my right elbow hurts so much…I should be on the indoor bike right now but I think I’m going to skip it today…I’ll still hit the goal this week but need some healing time by only doing two rides today….I need to do the grocery run this morning but only two stores since DD doesn’t have any bargains I want…it’s only 50 degrees out there so I wonder if I’ll put the top down on the car? Of course…don’t have a lot to do today but I want to make pasta salad again so I’ll have a side for whatever I cook…I think I’m going to make tacos with the pound of burger I have in the freezer and use up the tortillas I have in the fridge…don’t have a lot of stuff to do today after getting the lawn mowed yesterday but I really should clean the bathroom and kitchen and I just might…it’s going to be weird to just sit here and have coffee until I need to do the grocery run but I’m so damn tired that I need it….and that’s even with sleeping okay…oh, well…more later…
It shouldn’t be this close…
Well…I am starting to get a little pissed off at my fellow Americans who are still supporting the idiot trump even after his clear deterioration that is all over the tv every day…and the polls show that Harris/Walz is only up about 5 points int he latest polls and it shouldn’t be that close…I guess I’m frustrated by the stupidity of 43% of Americans who still think idiot boy is qualified when he showed in his term that he is anything but…and he is being sentenced for 34 felonies in two weeks but that’s okay with 43% of Americans, too…and by the way, where the hell is trump/vance? Not one event for them over labor day and that just shows they don’t give a damn about workers…and Harris/Walz were everywhere doing three rallies Labor day alone and at least one a day for the rest of the week while idiot boy has nothing scheduled until Saturday…I wonder if his campaign has realized that the less people see of him, the more they like him? Whatever it is, even though we are up we still need to do the work and get out the vote…my ballot is coming by the end of the month so I’ll get in in two months early…vote!
September 3rd
Well…damn, having a hard time getting started this morning even with not getting up til around 7…have been sleeping okay lately and even still had the covers on me and that says I didn’t toss and turn like normal or they would have been on the floor…I am happy that life is getting back to normal after the holiday and I can get back to my routine….it will be nice to know what day it is again…going to have to do an indoor ride again today with the temp only 50 again this morning…I left the front door open last night and that makes it a little cool in here right now but I can live with it after the heat and humidity….I do need to figure out what to eat this week since I only have enough leftovers for today and I do want to change it up a bit after chicken, chicken, chicken for weeks now…and there is no protein on sale again this week and the freezer hasn’t been so empty in weeks….have lots of canned goods so I’ll probably use some of those…not much to do today…need to get on the bike in 12 minutes as I wait for the temp to come up enough to ride outdoors…more later….
Car show…
Well…made it to 7,000 miles on the bike for the year today and now only have 78 left to the goal…and that should be early Thursday…I did go out to the mall today to look at the car show and it was a big one…over 1,000 cars and there had to be 5,000 people there while I was…it took me over an hour just to walk down all of the isles and see all the cars…lots of Mustangs and every other kind of car you could think of…there was a 56 Pontiac Chieftan wagon restomod that was just gorgeous and you normally see the 56 Chevys that sit on the same frame instead…not many of the Pontiacs made…I even got to park right next to the show in a parking spot that was just Miata sized and that was cool since the next spot was 200 yards away…I guess it’s an annual thing…pretty cool…
The most stupid thing I’ve ever seen…
Well…all of us who are no maga addled know that the idiot trump’s brain has been fading fast and here’s another bit of evidence that he is just not right…in an interview the other day he said this: “…the transgender thing is incredible…think of it, your kid goes to school and he comes home a few days later with an operation..the school gets to decide what happens to your child…and you knew many of these childs (yep, childs) fifteen years later say what the hell happened, who did this to me? If you can make sense of that crap, you’re doing better than me…look, there is no way that any school is making gender decisions for any kid and there are no operating theaters in and school in this country unless it’s a medical school…and the bad thing is that 40% of this country thinks he’s the “stable genius” he calls himself…I think he’s dumber than a box of rocks…and that goes for the person interviewing him who let this nonsense pass without getting up and walking out…geez…
August 2nd
Well…it’s only 49 degrees out there so that is going to force me downstairs for the first ride today but that’s okay…I can use a later start to my day for a change…only have 10 miles to do to get to 7,000 miles for the year and I’m in the countdown to 7,100…just so damn worn out this morning that all I want do to is sit here and have coffee…but, I’ll get going before 8 as I always do…had a good day yesterday but didn’t accomplish much and I’m not sure what I’ll do today…I do want to head over to the mall to see the car show but I’m not really geeked about it…I’ve seen so may of them in my lifetime that there is nothing new to see…but it’s going to be a nice day so wandering around in a parking lot might be fun….we’ll see…I really do need to cook something today and it may be another batch of pasta salad…don’t really have any protein in the freezer so maybe some pasta and garlic bread? Haven’t made that in a long time and some spaghetti sounds good…not much to do today…going to get on the bike downstairs in 25 minutes and that gives me enough time to have another cup of coffee…more later…
