Well…it was an okay day yesterday but no go on the sleep last night….and that is really frustrating…so tired so far today and that is not going to be fun….at least the bike appears to be fixed with almost two weeks on the new repair with no cracking so that is something…and, I think I may make another beach run this morning since it is supposed to be warm again…I can take my coffee and papers to the beach I guess…give me something to do…I can ride the bike when I get back….other than that, not much to do today…and that is the truth this time….
One of the stupidest things I’ve heard…
Well…listening and reading about the commemoration of the 1963 march on Washington, I heard one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard from one of the commentators on the right…their contention was that the only reason there is still racism in the US (and these folks are not sure there is any) is the fact that the agitators on the left keep talking about it…it’s not that most of the people stopped and frisked in NY are minorities, it’s not that you can murder a young black man in cold blood and get acquitted, it’s not that the repubs are doing their best to make sure minorities can’t vote, and it’s not that the right hates the first African-American president with a rabid fervor that has no other explanation but racism….it’s that the president and the rest of the left keep talking about it. Yeah, right….it’s just another instance on the right that if it doesn’t affect the (mostly white) repubs, it doesn’t exist…just like discrimination against gays doesn’t exist unless it affects a member of their own family…and the other arguments the right puts up why there is no racism are the same ones they spouted in 1963….I think they are getting really scared that the demographic tide is going to wash over them and make them the little, regional party they deserve to be…the people have rejected their platform and ideas for the past two presidential elections and the only way they cling to power is to lie, cheat, and steal elections…and that can’t work forever…geez…
August 28th
Well…it was an interesting day yesterday….had lots of things going on and then went out to have a couple with G….and I slept quite well and had some really, really weird dreams with Patrick Stewart, bikes, X-1/9 Fiats, G, old and new houses…yep, really weird and the first ones in such a long time…even after having a cocktail or two, I still woke up refreshed….nice to get into REM for a change and not toss and turn….it is humid this morning and it looks like the bike ride will be like riding in liquid as yesterday…came back from that one with no dry spots on any of my clothes and could wring out my shirt….but, I felt okay out on the bike so that was good…oh, forgot to say running early today…which I am…not much to do today…doing the grocery run and then the normal stuff….I kind of like this kind of cloudy morning…but it is going to be hot later when the haze burns off….more later…
The thugs are in charge in Wisconsin…
Well…take a good look at what is happening in Wisconsin if you want to get the true picture of what repubs think about citizen’s rights….a few days ago, an unarmed man was attacked by the police as he stood filming his brother getting arrested for protesting in the capitol…and this man was doing nothing but what is his right as a citizen…his right to free assembly…but the repubs just hate it so much when they are called out for their thuggery and illegal behavior that three of them jumped on the unarmed man with his hands in the air that they now say was resiting arrest and committed a felony assault because one of the thugs that jumped on him got hurt when they fell on top of him. This is the picture of repug administrations across the US…wave the constitution with one hand while they are beating citizens with the other….I really hope the ACLU gets involved here and there are suspensions and fines all round for these thugs…the one thing these pricks don’t understand is that they were caught on video doing this crap…and they have 15 witnesses who say there was no resisting arrest…there was no reason for the thugs to do anything to this man except treat him as a citizen…something the militarized cops of this day and age just don’t understand….geez…
No more war…
Well…here we go again….more and more and more war and now here we go into Syria…haven’t we had enough of this crap? When did it become our responsibility to police every country in the world? And, what benefit is it to the world or to us? Governments have been killing their own citizens since there were countries, even before, so why now? What is the difference between Syria and Rwanda where almost a million people were killed? We did nothing in Rwanda, what makes Syria different? The sick thing here is that we have the same people who advocated going into Iraq cheerleading attacking Syria; the same old group of chicken hawks who think that it an affront to the US if every country in the world doesn’t do what we say…and then spout “democracy” out of the other side of their mouths. I have had enough of spending trillions for this nonsense while people go hungry here and the country crumbles as we spend more, and more, and more on the military. One last thing, what made chemical weapons the bright line trigger point? The Syrian government has killed almost 40,000 of it’s citizens in this civil war and many, many thousands more in its secret prisons and we continued to give them aid until last year…how do you justify this hypocrisy? I am tired…just so tired of this continual war and the war profiteers that fan the flames with their lobbyists…when does it end?
August 27th
Well…it was and okay day yesterday and I did get some stuff done…felt better, too, so that is a good thing…not sure about today, though, I think I feel okay but we’ll see in a while if that is true…I did eat a bunch yesterday but I’m not sure that is what it was…I may have had a bug but I’m not sure if there are 3 day bugs out there…still not sleeping for crap and I’m not sure what to do about it this time….maybe just live with it again and be tired all day…going out to meet up with my brothers again for breakfast this morning and then I have lunch with T so I don’t need to cook at all today…and I will be sure to get enough calories…and it looks like rain all day so I may take the day off riding unless there is a window of dry that lasts an hour….more later…
Keep attacking Obamacare repubs…
Well…as with many, many things that the repubs think are true but aren’t, we now have to add the idea that attacking Obamacare is good politics for them….and, as with many, many other polls, these folks are just reading the country all wrong. When they look at the polls that say that only 40% of the country likes Obamacare, they see a political opening; another wedge they can use to divide the country and gain an edge…but, the one thing they don’t understand, like many, many other things, is that there are 35% of the country that think that Obamacare doesn’t go far enough…there are 35% that think that the country should go to Medicare for all and cut the damn insurance companies out completely. So, if we add the 40% who like the law with the 35% who think it doesn’t go far enough…you get a true 75% that think the law is better than what we have now and want it to continue….and these morons can’t even do the math to see that…they assume that 60% of the country hate the law and that is why they are pushing against it so hard…but, with the new revelation in another poll that says that only 19% of the country identify as being repubs…all I can say is “please proceed” repubs…you’ll be gone soon…yay….
August 26th
Well…running a little late today and it is just because I feel like crap for a second day in a row…yesterday was the worst with no energy and lots of coughing so I just laid on the couch all day…and the sleep last night was just really weird…I was dreaming I has a new job but I was so tired at the job that I kept falling asleep…so, I had to keep waking myself up but I was waking myself up in real life…not good for sleeping until I changed the dream to something innocuous….weird….but, today I have to try to get some things done starting with the workout and bike ride…I’m hoping that I will be able to burn the bug out by going hard…but, it may make it worse and then it will be rest again…not much to do today…I have shifted into low gear to just try to get through the day….more later…
Impeachment, again?
Well…still feeling like crap this aft but thought I’d try to do one of these to ensure I don’t fall too far behind…and to relay my incredulity that the idiot repubs are talking impeachment for a second dem president in a row…never mind that you didn’t hear a peep out of the guys when ole GW was approving torture…committing many felonies in the process…and then having the oil companies write the laws that govern them…along with allowing the banks to crash the economy while the justice department just stood around and watched….and the thing is that the repubs can’t even say what the actual acts are that rise to the threshold of “high crimes and misdemeanors” they just “know” that he must have done something wrong since he wants to actually follow the constitution and appoint judges, or sign a laws that would help millions of people get health insurance. In the repubs crazy world…anything that the president does is an impeachable offense…if he walks his dog he should be impeached, if he breathes he should be impeached…you get my drift. I really do hope they do it…I hope the crazy-assed house does try to impeach Obama…it would be one of the final nails in the coffin of the crazy that has been ruining this country for the past 30 years….I’ve had enough of it that’s for sure…geez…
August 25th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday with going out for the Miata picnic…the turnout was pretty cool with the 17 cars that showed up…mine was the only Laguna Blue one and the members think it is the only one in the club..pretty cool…but, after I got home I decided to skip the car show on 28th since I had already spent 4 hours in the sun and I was a little worn out…the rest of the day was just a veg out…still feel a little crappy, though, but I think it’s from only having a subway sub to eat all day….nothing even sounded good…but I am going to try to remedy that today….it looks like a boring one today since the races were on last night and there is no soccer that I can get….so, maybe I’ll clean a little and get some other work done….and try to get two more out today to get caught up…will probably need to go back and re-read the paper for topics…more later…
