Not sure what to do…

Well…as you can probably tell…I have been struggling with a case of writers block or whatever it is when the ideas just don’t come…but, with over 2500 of these done, that just doesn’t make sense. I did want to comment on Syria a little bit…I do like the idea that there are some deliberations going on instead of just the knee-jerk use force reaction that has passed for foreign policy lately…not sure where it is going, though, when the WH says that they are not bound by any decision of congress…weird…why do it then?

The true nature of the repubs in Texas was clarified over the weekend when they refused to sign their LGBT National Guard up for the benefits that the Pentagon has said they qualify for after the demise of DOMA….basically saying that the bigoted hatred of gays trumps the service that these soldiers have done…so, the next time anyone on the right says they support the troops, think “they support the troops if they are heterosexual” and tell them to go to hell…okay…not feeling it right now so I am going to go and then come back later for more…I am one down already for the month…

September 2nd

Well…running late again today and it’s just because I can’t seem to get moving….but, I’m going to try..it was an okay day yesterday but it devolved into a veg day with all of the races that were on and I don’t feel guilty about it…okay, I do a little but what can you do about it? Not much, so I’m just going to get on with today and see what happens…slept okay last night but no dreams again but that is just the normal state of things now….not much to do today…I do have to go over to Tom’s later to hang out for a while and that should be fun and I just might have to wash the car today, too…but, to get there I need to get moving to work out and get the bike ride in….

September 3rd

Well…running late again today and it is because of computer problems…the thing is just acting cranky this morning and I’ve had to restart it…appears like is working okay now, though, so I can get this one out…it was an okay day yesterday but the holiday screwed up my time sense…feels like Monday to me…the races all day yesterday were cool and the dinner out at Tom’s was fun…first steak I’ve had in almost a year and it was yummy….and the ride back with the top down and the lights on was cool, too…the airflow is different with the barn doors up and it seems to deflect a lot of wind up and over the car….was a nice ride home…not much to do today….need to do the glass on the car and then just the normal stuff…I hurt everywhere again so first the ibuprofen…more later…

As you can see…the computer problems have screwed up my site and put the 3rd before the second…not sure what I can do to fix it…

Labor day and Snyder…

Well…this little thought popped into my head earlier today and I thought I’d put it down here before I forget it…if this year is anything like every year, Labor day will bring another walk by the governor across the Mackinac bridge here in Michigan…and with that, you will hear him lie and say that labor is the thing that built our country and is the most important thing that will get it moving again…just don’t believe a word of it coming from Snyder…he does not believe a word of it no matter if it’s true…this idiot is responsible for the biggest attack on organized labor in the history of the state; the right to work for less law that was rammed through the legislature in a lame duck session, and one that Snyder said during his election campaign that he did not support…just more and more lies that come out of the repubs here in Michigan…then we have the transfer of wealth from retired workers to the CEO’s of the major corporations with the huge tax cuts for them while taxes are raised on us, the workers…so, whenever you hear Snyder or any other repub talking about their respect for labor…you can tell it’s a lie if their lips are moving….geez…

September 1st

Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I got lots of stuff done…finally got to scrubbing my kitchen floor and most of the rest of the kitchen…even got the microwave cleaned…something I should have done a week ago….today is not going to be as ambitious since there are races galore on and I think it will turn it into a total veg day…after the bike ride, of course, and I don’t even have to cook today since I have leftovers that need to be used…I feel okay today which I really shouldn’t after a cocktail night but the bad sleep is catching up and I will need to take a nap later…oh, well….more later….

Oh, I forgot to recognize that I went over 2,500 of these…over 50 posts back…damn…I’ll have to pay better attention…

Good move on Syria…

Well…finally got to the last one for the month…wanted to get it done before the Michigan game comes on in a half hour…I find the president finally doing the right thing on Syria…going to congress for approval even though this congress hates him…this move will do a couple of things that I like..first, it takes away the right’s ability to criticize him for any decision he makes…either getting them on board to agree with any attack…or, Obama will be able to use their refusal for cover and not attack…either way the politics works well for him since the left really wants the government to work like it’s supposed to with the branches doing their jobs…and, if refused, he can blame the right for being wimps and not supporting the necessary use of force…whichever, it is a win/win…but I really do hope there is no attack without the UN being involved…we need to stop all this world policing to repair our standing in the world…

The cheating begins….

Well…it’s been a while since I’ve done a trail weirdness one….and I’m not sure this is going to be one..I did see one strange thing on part of the bike lane along Eastern today, though, one of the biggest snapping turtles I’ve seen in a while that had been hit by a car…it’s legs were as thick as my wrists…and, the one question that comes to mind is why? There is no water around where it was other than the retention ponds for an apartment complex…I wonder if it lived in one of those? Even if it did live there…how the heck did it get there? Oh, well…..I guess there are weirder things out there….but, I haven”t seen any in a while…

August 31st

Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I won at pool finally so that was cool…but, I didn’t accomplish anything else so I guess today is going to be cleaning and getting three of these out so I get to the goal for the month…no dreams to speak of and I can’t figure out how to make them happen like Tuesday…oh, well…I did sleep okay so that is a plus…oh, an Michigan starts their season this aft so I need to get things done early so I can see the entire game…and there are races tonight so that will give me something to do…and, since I need to do three of these today…there will be cheating…haven’t done much of that lately so I don’t feel bad about it…more later…

August 30th

Well…running late today and I really don’t care…it was an okay day yesterday with another run to the beach and a little sun and there were no screaming children around me which made it even better….didn’t sleep well for the third in a row now and I am pretty tired but still need to get on the bike in a few minutes…will take a long one today since it is about all I plan on doing except pool…going to be another hot one but that will break Monday…going to be in the 60’s so that will be strange…looks like the weekend will be pretty low key with everyone out of town so tv will be my friend with all of the races…even live drag races from Indy Sunday and Monday so I’ll at least have something to do…more later…

It’s Europe’s turn…

Well…after listening to the increasing drumbeat for war in Syria, one thing came to me that has not been mentioned much, other than on Kos…why are we so hot on attacking Syria and footing the bill for the whole thing? If you look at it with a non-neocon eye, you can see that Europe has at least as large of a GDP as the US does but even more to the point is that the conflict in Syria and the effects of the refugee crisis to come is going to affect Europe much more that it will us. I know that this has been a humanitarian crisis long before the use of chemical weapons and they are being used as an excuse for a bombing campaign, but there are many, many humanitarian crises across the globe…what makes this different? This is a question that no one has answered yet…what about the Arab league? Why can’t these folks do something? All I can say is that there are many other actors who should be involved before the US and I think it is time for them to step up and take some responsibility for their own region…let’s give our military the rest it has earned….12 years of constant war is just too much for our soldiers to bear.

What you never want to be….
