Well…with the big spending bell getting passed through the senate today, all I can say is Biden did it again…and two things that got included were the Pregnant workers act that prohibits discrimination against pregnant women on the job and the electoral count act that adds to the language of how electoral votes are counted so the repubs can’t try to steal the election again like they did in 2020. I wonder how the right is going to spin this one with their continuing efforts to paint Biden as a doddering old fool? Sure seems to get a lot done for an old fool but those of us here on the left don’t think that of him at all…yep, he’s old but it would take many pages to list the achievements of his administration and he really is trying to make this country a better place for everyone…and in the atmosphere in DC, I think he’s doing a pretty damn good job…geez…
Ready as I can be…
Well…just filled the bird feeders and put the trash out and I guess I’m as ready as I can be for the storm…really don’t have to go anywhere for a week or so with the supplies I’ve gotten so I’m just going to relax and plan on not going anywhere until late next week…I did finally get the living room and my bedroom cleaned but I am coughing like crazy from all of the dust…I think I’ll make cleaning the thing for my time in and get started on the trim in the dining room along with that….I wonder how they are going to cope with the snow out here? They never plow the residential streets so I hope there is some traffic to pack the snow down so I can get to the main streets that they do take care of…but I’m not going to worry about that now….City and Liverpool are playing in 20 mins so I’m going to shut this thing off and just watch….
What a bunch of asses…
Well…with the visit of Ukrainian president Zelenskyy to the US yesterday, and the repub response to it, we again had it confirmed that the repubs are a bunch of assholes and that they truly are traitors who support Putin more than Ukraine. When Z spoke in front of the congress, most of the repub caucus didn’t even show up and the ones who did disrespected Z by talking, playing with their phones and sitting on their hands when the House rose for a standing ovation…and the new meme that the right and it’s Putin apologists is using today is that Ukraine is a “welfare queen” and we can’t afford to support them anymore and they are repub house members are trying to get the additional funding for Ukraine ripped out of the spending bill being worked on as they poured money on the US military to the tune of 860 billion dollars just last week. Let’s remember what Ukraine is doing for the world…since Russia invaded, they have lost half of their military strength…hundreds of thousands of their soldiers dead and essentially a gutted economy exposing the hollowed out military that no one is afraid of anymore…just that much would be more than we should have expected…and Ukraine deserves whatever they need from us as they continue and until they win…which they will give enough support….geez…
December 22nd
Well…when I got up this morning and we didn’t get any snow last night, I decided to head out to Meijers to try to get the ingredients I need to make ham soup and the store was still nuts…nothing on the shelves and long lines to check out…but I did get what I needed so I am ready to start hibernating and get ready to start shoveling snow later today….didn’t get much done yesterday and I’m not planning on doing much but clean a little later but I need to get on the bike first…only had one meal yesterday and I’m feeling it today…pretty worn out and feeling a little old….I had to buy 1% milk instead of non fat this morning since they were out of what I normally buy….maybe that will be good to put on the cheerios I’ve had in the cupboard for months….man, doing all the work of going out was really hard this morning and all I want to do is sit here and do nothing…but I won’t…need 75 more miles to hit my goal and it’s in sight….but it’s cold downstairs and I am not looking forward to it….not much to do today…going to clean the living room so I can hibernate in peace and not look at the mess…okay, not a mess but I do have books piled on the coffee table I need to put away…and I need to dust everything in here since it is bugging the heck out of me….and I need to rotate the couch cushions and dust it, too….more later….
One good thing…
Well…one good thing about the aborted afternoon Meijers run…when I was leaving, a guy walked up to me to ask about my Miata and I found out he used to own one…then we got talking about mountain bikes and trails to ride around here and I found out he lives right next to the trail I ride outside every day…we stood outside in the cold for 45 minutes…these are the kind of things that make me smile after not talking much for a week….
I gave up….
Well…when I forgot to get a couple of things this morning to make ham soup, I decided to make a quick run out to Meijers to get the veggies and containers I needed and that was a mistake…starting with getting virtually the last parking spot in the lot, I walked in the door and the lines for the cash registers were all the way across the entire store and even the self checkouts had a line that snaked all the way through the produce area and would take a good half hour to 45 minutes just to get to the checkout…so I just gave up an turned around and walked out…I guess I can make soup next week…glad I got the big stuff in the morning but even then I had to wait in line for the self checkouts….it’s just nuts out there….
Trump’s taxes…
Well…the House ways and means committee released the idiot trump’s taxes yesterday and, as expected, there are dozens of shady real estate deals and the fact that he doesn’t pay taxes…offsetting any income with “charitable deductions” that are shady, too…using nonexistent property that he “donated” to save himself from paying millions in taxes….and there are lots of missing documentation where he is just making things up to lower his tax bill…like writing off two million dollars in property taxes in NY when the limit for those deductions is 10K….and all of this has been discovered in the few hours the returns have been public…what will they find once a forensic accountant goes to work…it’s pretty clear why idiot boy didn’t want anyone to see these returns….they are filled with fraud of the same sort he has pulled his entire life, changing evaluation of property depending on whether he was getting a loan or paying taxes….now I wonder if they will charge him with tax fraud? After all, they have already convicted his company of fraud so you can bet the same things are being done in his returns…get after it IRS…geez…
December 21st
Well…running about on time this morning with getting out of bed around 6:30 but I’m not getting started and I need to…only have a few minutes until I need to get on the bike so I can start the prep day for the big storm that is coming…it is going to get ugly tomorrow and I want to be ready to hibernate for a week or so…and that means hitting three stores after the bike ride…didn’t get much done yesterday but laundry and I do need to clean with all of the dust in here that is coating everything even with not working on the house…I may even head out to DD to get some ham…yeah, do I need more ham? They have it for 99 cents for a half pound and I could use some for the freezer…we’ll see….my back didn’t hurt at all yesterday for the first time in months and I wonder how that happened….I did heat it once even without pain but I am going to put the heating pad away today if it holds up…damn, this is going to be a busy morning and I’m not looking forward to it…just frickin worn out and I’m having a hard time getting started….oh, goody…now my computer is flashing a winter storm warning at me…2 feet of snow is coming and I have to deal with that….not much to do today…just the grocery runs and then the second bike ride and I really can’t wait til it’s over…more later….
Need a new furnace filter…
Well….don’t know why I did it but I just remembered to check my furnace filter and I just had to laugh…with all of the filling, sanding and dust in this house since I moved in, the filter has about a quarter of an inch of dust on it and it must have barely flowed any air….so I just took it out and will have to get a new one tomorrow during the grocery run…I need another bag of melting salt anyway with the big storm coming an now it looks like we are going to get almost two feet of snow starting Thursday through Saturday with high winds that will make for blowing and drifting and lots of damn shoveling…oh, well…

Well…with all of the threats the repubs in the house have been leveling for investigations on everyone for everything, the only thing I have to say is bring it on…the one thing our side does is follow the rules and I don’t think the public really wants the repub bullshit anymore…they are admitting that they are not going to govern but just take revenge on the dems for doing their jobs and helping Americans and the world…I am getting pretty damn tired of the projection that these asses perform every day…since the repubs are so corrupt, they think everyone is but look what happened the last time they controlled the house…8 investigations of Benghazi and Hillary sitting in front of a committee for 11 hours and what did they get out of it…yep, nothing…they found no wrongdoing of any sort and that is what they are going to find this time no matter what the crazies like jordan think….I mean how do you investigate a conspiracy theory? That is all the supposed wrongdoing by dems is and I think it’s going to expose the repubs for who they are….lunatics…geez…
