Well…it was a long day yesterday and I am surprised that I watched football games that I’m not interested in…probably from boredom or from T being interested in them…who knows? Didn’t really do much all day but just hang out here…it did snow last night but it doesn’t look like as much as predicted…I will have to clean off the car and let it warm up, though, since it is cold and that looks like the pattern for the week….not much to do today..as of this point, I can’t think of one thing other than getting the papers and having coffee…and working out…but that gets me done with everything by 10…oh, well…

Snyder and the repubs were wrong..again…
Well…with the overtly ideological and political passing of the right to work law here in Michigan, something that these liars said business was asking for, ole Snyder got a surprise at the Detroit auto show this week when he tried to use the RTW law as a reason for companies to move to Michigan…one little problem came up….the businesses that he talked to just didn’t care about RTW and most said it was not a major factor in business decisions. In fact, he was told by some companies that it would make them less likely to move here since it is such a divisive issue and will make labor relations more difficult…so, this whole nonsense is exposed for what it is, just naked hatred of the middle class and unions from the right paid for by the Kochs who don’t give a damn if they hurt the state, just as long as they get their agenda enacted. Geez…
January 20th
Well…not really running late since it is the weekend but I feel like I am….just finished the paper and I’m working on my second cup of coffee while I root against Chelsea and try to feel better after a cocktail night. I am so disappointed in the Wings that I think I’ll just not watch them anymore…after all, I’m already used to not seeing them so it won’t be too big of a deal…I am going to have to hibernate for a few days here with the cold weather coming along with 3-6 inches of snow overnight….it is January in Michigan so I’m pretty used to it after so many years…and, it has not been a bad winter so far so I shouldn’t bitch too much….I did sleep okay and I think it is the earplugs that I have been using….not much to do today…don’t have to cook since I did that yesterday..oh, just remembered Man U is playing in a while so that will be cool…and the weather in England is almost as bad as it is here…cold and snow…so that will be neat to watch…

Well…I have been waiting for a couple of weeks to work on this one…hoping that the whole thing would die down and be just a bad dream…but, it appears to be even worse than I expected so I need to say something about it. As you know, the repubs lost big in the last election even with all of their efforts to suppress the votes across the country….and since the voter id crap and restricting voting hours didn’t work, we now have the Koch brothers pet organization, ALEC, you know, the guys behind the stand your ground laws that make it legal to murder, figuring out ways to make sure that repubs can win in the electoral college by rigging how the votes are apportioned…going from winner takes all in most states to proportional awarding of the votes…by some formula that would always favor the repubs. In fact, here in Michigan, with the new way of dividing the votes would have given 9 of the 16 votes to Romney where Obama won the state by almost 9 points. That’s the repubs idea of democracy in action…they can’t compete on ideas since the country has moved on past them, but their thirst for power has them willing to subvert the very democracy they say they revere…but that is the repubs…no honor, no honesty, and no intelligence…geez…
January 19th
Well…it was a day yesterday…not much else to say for it but I guess it’s okay…I am sore from walking the bike back when it died on me and I think it’s weird that walking just two miles did such a number on my legs…didn’t sleep well at all last night and I may have to use the last melatonin tonight just to try to sleep a little…and I am running late today as always, and I’m not going to apologize for it this time…it’s normal for a cocktail night….I am a little out of sorts today since there was only one paper to buy and that is just not enough for me to get the brain running…so I guess I’ll have to read the online papers early…I am a little excited that the Wings are starting tonight and I have to get my Hank shirt out to make it official….okay…need to read more papers so I can get the cobwebs out….

Well…I am just sitting here shaking my head about the deterioration of the repub party into one that is mesmerized by tactics that they feel are winners but that the American people don’t. The latest in this unending series of crises of their own making is the idea floated by the idiot Eric Cantor to raise the debt ceiling for only three months, thinking they can then use it again to try to extort budget cuts in the future. What I don’t understand is why they think it will work in three months when it’s not working now? Again, the definition of stupidity is continuing to do the same thing but expecting different results and that is exactly what is on display here…the abject stupidity of the repub “leadership” who think that confrontation and extortion are the same as governance…as much as I questioned the intelligence of the American people when they continue to vote for these morons, poll results giving the repubs in congress a single digit approval rating show that the people are finally recognizing that the repubs are the problem, not the solution for this country…and none too soon…geez…
January 18th
Well…it was a long day yesterday and I am running late because of it…and, it didn’t help that it was a cocktail night and the depression from spending 100 bucks yesterday just piled on the top if it….so if I’m not too lucid today I do have a pretty good excuse…I did think that karma had gotten back at me this morning when I went out to get the papers…when I stopped at the store and parked the car, a light was on on the dash that, with my just up eyes, I thought was the check engine light…but, when I got back in the car, it was just the light for the handbrake…yay for that….It would just be too much to have the car and the bike down at the same time…not much to do today…I am contemplating skipping working out this morning but I know the guilt will be too much since I’ve already gained almost 10 pounds without riding the bike…yeah, that is adding to the malaise that I am feeling but I am down to 1,000 calories a day and can’t go lower without some health effects….oh, well….
An eventful day…
Well…today has been one of those days where you just shake your head, smile, and marvel at how things work. It started out fine with getting out to get groceries and coming back here to work out…then, the sun came out and that little thing spurred me to get out on the bike to try to get some exercise…and set the rest of the day in motion. First, I get out about 2 miles and the bike starts to act a little weird and all of a sudden the chain breaks and I’m left to walk it back the two miles into a 15 mile an hour wind…when I got back, I went over and spent 21 bucks on a new chain that installed quite easily. Then, I got back out on the bike to test it and found that the broken chain (or wear) had torn the rear shifter up so it wouldn’t hold in any gear….so, I had to get online and spend another 27 bucks to buy a new one…I guess that 14,000 miles is not bad for the shifter or chain so I shouldn’t bitch too much….but, after removing the old shifter, all of the grease and dirt that had collected over the years fell off and some of it stuck to the bottom of my foot and I tracked the sticky, black, crap all over my place and had to spend an hour getting it out of the carpet and off my floors. So, after all that, I am really looking forward to a cocktail and some relaxing tonight…at least the car is running great….for now.
Oh, one last thing I forgot…while I was working on the shifter, I jabbed a spring all the way through my finger…in and out and it is still bleeding 3 hours later….but, other than that, not that bad of a day…I did get my fridge cleaned, too…
Ther right is just a scam to make money…
Well…there have been many articles over the last few weeks on how many of the PACs on the right are just money making schemes to separate the rubes from their money and line the pockets of the people running the PACS; ignoring the purpose that the PAC was supposed to fulfill. The latest revelation of this screwing of the masses on the right is the PAC that is controlled by the teabag darling Marco Rubio from Florida who states that the purpose of his PAC is to “help conservatives get elected”…but the dirty little secret that his PAC has been hiding is that, of the 1.7 million dollars they have raised, only 78,000 has been spent on elections…the rest going to “consultants” and overhead, essentially a slush fund to Rubio’s friends..or to put it another way, it is ‘welfare” for the chattering right wing political classes so they don’t have to get a real job or contribute to society in any way. With all of the talk of personal responsibility that comes ad nauseum from the right, we now know they don’t believe in any of the crap they are pushing…it is just a scam to keep the rubes in line and give them hope that just does not exist. Geez….
January 17th
Well…it was a day yesterday and I won at pool so that was okay…and I slept okay…well…it was tolerable anyway so I thought I’d get this one done before I get ready to go get some groceries…I am feeling so much like a slug with not being able to get out on the bike that I think I’ll go out today even if it’s snowing…and I think I’m going to start the new novel today…have been kicking the idea around for a while now and I need to give it a shot just to get my brain working again if for nothing else…and I do need to clean the fridge today since it is starting to look like a garage fridge and that just won’t cut it….okay…need to make the coffee and get ready to get the groceries…more later…
