Well…it was an okay day yesterday but the string of not getting anything done has added another day…slept okay last night but no dreams to speak of…again….but I’m used to it now….I know that I have a bug now since I have been coughing and warm with a slight sore throat but I don’t feel that bad…still going to work out and get a bike ride in this morning and try to burn it out…that works sometimes and I hope it does this time….have been sore and creaky over the past few days and I wonder if it has something to do with the bug….and my back has been really stiff but no pain so that is something…not much to do today…going to make some cash this morning but then nothing much for the rest of the day….maybe some cleaning but I really don’t have the energy for that right now….need more coffee….more later…

Christian Taliban….
Well…reading today’s news, I came upon a story that made me think that the RW “Christians” in this country are really very little different from radicals in any other faith…they hate the same people…the gays…and will do anything they can to make sure the bible is used to punish people instead of the uplifting book of love that it is supposed to be. Now, you know I’m an atheist, but I have no problem with people of faith who use that faith to make the world a better place…but, in this country, christians more and more look like the Taliban….oh, the article…there is a “Christian” school in Wichita, Kansas called Trinity Academy that now has a policy in place that allows them to expel any student that has a LGBT family member or whose household promotes or is okay with LGBT rights…basing it on the school’s understanding of a “biblical lifestyle” and that the bible is infallible and the literal truth. Wow….transplant this article to Afghanistan and I could understand it, but in 2016 in the US? I sure hope that everyone just quits the school and lets the idiots that run it go broke instead of being paid to push their homophobic crap on these poor kids…geez…

Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I didn’t get anything done for the umpteenth day….I think I’m going to start feeling guilty about that soon but I’m not sure when…slept okay last night and feel kind of slow this morning and I know part of it is that bug I thought I had a few days back…have been coughing like crazy all morning and I feel warm so I guess I’ve got a cold of some sort…don’t feel too bad so there will be a bike ride this morning…it was a pretty cool sports day yesterday and today is about half of that but there will be pole day at Indy and that will be cool….not too sore this morning but just stiff and I’m not sure what that is about…just old, I guess….not much to do today…need more coffee and then out on the bike but that is about it…more later….
Congrats Manchester United….
Well…you’ve heard me talk of my frustration with the season that Manchester United had this year…not knowing what team was going to show up on any given day. Today, the right one showed up and Man U won the FA Cup…the tournament that starts with all of the teams that play in Great Britain. It took them overtime, though, and playing through Smalling getting ejected and down to just 10 men…but the winner was just a gorgeous strike by Jesse Lingard that bailed the Red Devils out….and made my day….and now soccer is done until the fall and I’ll have to find new things to keep me amused on Saturday and Sunday mornings…congrats Man U!
May 21st
Well…it was an okay day and I won at pool so that is cool….slept okay last night but feel a little crappy today and I hope that will go away after the bike ride…still somewhat sore everywhere and I’m not sure if it is just age or what….haven’t take anything for it for the past two days but I am going to before the bike ride…my triceps have been hurting on the bike and that is really annoying….just want a good ride where I can think about something other than the pain….need to check the shifter on the bike again since the upshifts are a little slow…might just have to lube it again or the pins have worked out again….it has been working quite well lately and I want that to continue….not much to do today…lots of sports with Man U, Indycar, Nascar, and horse racing so I will have plenty of stuff to nap to…more later….
May 20th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get anything done…slept okay last night but feel a little slow this morning with it being a cocktail night last night…I think I may have a bug, too, and that is compounding it somewhat….have been coughing quite a bit since last night and I feel a little warm today….not bad but just a little warm so we’ll see how that goes…not too sore today but I am going to take ibuprofen before I get on the bike since the cramps in my hands were quite bad yesterday….I am a little stiff all over today and I’m not sure what that is about…but, I am going to stop bitching about any of that…after all, I should be sore after a long, hard ride….not much to do today….pool, of course, but not much else…I should wash the car and might…the damn birds have covered the sidewalks here along with my car and I’m not sure what the deal is….more later….
A little trail weirdness…
Well…I know I haven’t done one of these in a long time but, in my defense, there really hasn’t been anything weird on the trail lately…and, I’m not sure if this is weird or not but just funny…when I was about half way through my ride today and stopped for a water stop, in my peripheral vision was a little yellow caterpillar hanging from a web off the side of my hat…didn’t think anything of it after I got started again since I thought it just blew off so I went about my ride and when I got to my next stop, here comes the caterpillar that was blowing back over my shoulder to just hang from the side of the hat again…this continued almost all the way through the last 6 miles and a felt a little bad when I got to the last stop and he wasn’t there anymore….just one of those strange things you can see if you just open your eyes and observe at times….
May 19th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get much done but a few things around here….slept reasonably last night and feel okay this morning but I was sore walking around Meijers this morning and I’m not sure why….might have to take ibuprofen this morning before I get on the bike…I did make the pork loin that I marinaded overnight and it came out pretty good…this one will make it into the normal rotation since it actually gave the pork flavor that I haven’t been able to achieve until now….even bought another one to freeze and make Sunday….the damn birds are starting to irritate the hell out of me with the car being covered again this morning…might have to buy a pellet gun and just shoot the damn things…or buy a cover for the car…but, I don’t want to spend the money….not much to do today…just the normal stuff…but I will do a long bike ride today and then come back here and clean a bunch….more later….
Surprise, surprise…
Well…with the announcement of a 480 million dollar shortfall in tax revenues here in Michigan, all I can say sarcastically is surprise, surprise….I just wonder why tax cuts for the rich and business didn’t do what the repubs here had faith it would do…result in more revenue for the state. It isn’t as if they had any examples of the same tax cut nonsense not working in other states….oh, yes they do….look at any state where the repubs are in control and they used faith-based economics…like Arizona, Kansas, Louisiana or Texas where they used the fully discredited theories of Arthur Laffer and his supply side economic nonsense and the same damn thing happened…tax revenues fell drastically putting the budgets of all of those states in free fall so they have all had to decimate even basic services that people pay for….and now we see the same damn thing in Michigan and the repubs here are acting all surprised like there is just no way they could have forseen this happening. But, will they learn from this and rescind the tax cuts for business here that have led to no job creation for the 1.8 billion dollar giveaway to business? Of course not…the repubs are the anti science party after all and economics is a science….I just don’t understand why people keep voting for these idiots when they lay waste to every state they control….I’m shaking my head over that one…geez…
May 18th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get much done…again…did have a nice lunch with T and she is looking much better after all the health problems she has had over the past few months…slept a little crappy but still feel okay after being good for the second night and that will continue tonight…the pain that I felt in my right forearm is gone today and there is no pain anywhere else so I guess I’ll take that….had a good bike ride yesterday but when is it ever going to get warm enough to go out without a sweatshirt? I have a pork loin sitting in a new marinade that I can’t wait to try later today after I run some errands and make a little cash….not much to do today…I have to wash the car again since it looks like I was parked under a tree full of birds in the Sahara desert and I can’t see through the windows…going to do that right now before I start working out or ride the bike…more later….
