Well…if you had any doubt about the damage that human activities have had on the environment…beyond global warming…you just have to look at the new study that just came out over the past few days that found that populations of wildlife have declined by 56% on average over the past 40 years…more than half of the world’s wildlife is gone in just 40 years…I’m sure that the climate change deniers will say that it is just “natural variation” and that humans have nothing to do with it…but, deforestation and destruction of habitats to continue to strip mine and harvest dirty energy is a major factor in this decline….but, we won’t learn, after all who cares if there are tigers or elephants left in wild…they just get in the way of the speed of the destruction of the planet…geez…
Almost run over…
Well…it was a nice ride this morning but I do have to pass along this little tidbit…was almost run over…twice…on the ride today…one woman blew through a stop sign at 20 and then gave me a rude gesture as if it was my fault that I was existing…weird…and only one more to do today…yep, I’m cheating, but you knew I had to do that to meet the goal for the month….one more later…
September 30th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I made a little cash so that was cool…slept okay last night and had some phone dreams again so maybe I’ll break another one…who knows? Still not feeling right and that is getting old really quickly…I was good last night so maybe that will help…I know I feel a little better today so I think I’ll keep that up all week and see what happens….it was kins of nice to get a little rain last night but it’s only 49 right now and we are slowly creeping up on having to put the heat on….but, I’m going to push it as long as possible….not much to do today…may have lunch with T but that is about it…I do have some errands to run, too, but that is about it…more later…
Just some thoughts…
Well…running out of time for the month so there may just be a filler or two before wed…still feeling pretty crappy today and had some stuff to do but I didn’t do it…I did make a little cash today so I can buy groceries at least and that takes a little load off…I am a little excited that the Wings are going to be on tv tonight…it will be the first time to see them this year and hearing Ken and Mickey after listening to all the other announcers in all the other sports will be a good thing….but with Pavel and Nyquist out it will be an odd night…might be fun to see some of the youngsters that will be going down to GR and have some new names to follow….okay…that’s enough for this one…one more for today and I’ll be back on track…
September 29th
Well…running late again today and I think it’s because I slept in until 7…and just haven’t been able to get going yet…that seems to be a pattern lately and I’m not sure why that is….slept okay but with no dreams to speak of and that is strange in itself…I think I may have to take a day off and just veg this week…can’t get reset and that may be what is causing this malaise…think I’ll wait until thurs, though, since it looks like rain…not much to do today…I do need to get some stuff done around here and run a couple of errands but that is about it…more later…
A little more Tigers…and Lions
Well…it’s been a full day of sports and I wanted to just do one more short one since theTigers just won their game and are the division champions! Pretty cool game and the celebration after the last out was just outstanding….it hasn’t been an easy season for them but they kept trying and trying and got to the goal…so congrats Tigers! I am a little in shock that the Lions won again today, too…3-1 now and in the lead of the NFC north division…and they looked okay today…not going to roll out the playoff bandwagon just yet, though, I have been watching them for 55 years and they normally find a way to disappoint us fans…but, at least they have been competitive so far…I will let a tiny bit of hope squeeze in, though….more later…
Talking a little Tigers…
Well…sitting here watching the Lions and Tigers and thought I’d get a little celebratory post out…the Tigers have been in the playoffs for a couple of days now at least in one of the wild card spots…but they need to win today to win the division and that would be better…with all of the talent on the team, it should have been decided a few weeks ago and I am a little concerned about the post season with how they have been playing….I mean, losing to the Twins by 9 runs? Oh, well…I’ll watch them anyway just to see how they do…but the Wings are starting tomorrow night so my attention will be divided…more later…
Michigan circling the drain…
Well…just sitting here waiting for the Lions game to start and thought I’d talk about the debacle that is Michigan football this season…first, I think Brady Hoke is not the guy for Michigan…he has taken a once great program and turned into the mediocre mess that it is with no defense or offense to speak of and no plan to make it better…but, the last straw for me was from yesterday’s game when his quarterback was clearly suffering from concussion and he sent him back in to continue playing…even after one of his other players had to hold him up so he wouldn’t collapse on the field….Hoke is supposed to protect his players, not expose them to permanent damage just to try to win a game….Hoke should be fired…and today…
September 28th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t do much but hang out around here…I was feeling better but this morning I’m back where I was a few days back so I don’t understand it…oh, well…and today looks like more of the same other than I have to do 5 of these today to make sure I get to the numbers for the month…I do have some topics so that might not be as hard as it sounds…I do have to do some cleaning today, too, along with soccer, football, and the races so it will be a full day even with not much to do…have to get the bike ride in first, though, and I will be taking off in a few minutes to get that done….don’t have to cook today since I have leftovers and that will be good, too…don’t really have the desire to cook today….more later….
The crazy is really deep on the right these days…
Well…have been trying to get back into politics with election season coming up but it has been harder to do than I thought it would be…to get ready for it, I have been reading some of the statements and comments that come from right wing websites and it is breathtaking how deep the crazy runs on the right these days…first there is a senate candidate from one of the midwestern states…Kansas or Wyoming…somewhere who made the statement in a town hall the other day that she truly believes that the UN is going to implement something called Agenda 21 here in the US that would force everyone to move to cities and have their land taken away from them…one thing I should note is that this woman, I think here name is Ernst, has also stated that she owes her entire career to the Koch’s…and you know what that means…more pet coke piles around the US poisoning the air and water….where the hell do the repubs come up with these people? Is delusion now one of the check boxes that they have to have to run for office as a repub? It sure seems like it these days…okay, I’ll have to do the comment one later today since I really do want to continue to watch the Arsenal/Spurs match….more later…
