Well…keeping with my obsession with the Hammond B-3 organ…am watching a concert on AXS tv right now with the jam band from Colorado, the String Cheese Incident…it it raining so hard that they have the instruments covered but there is no mistaking a B-3 when you hear it…so, let’s add another one to the B-3 count…
Okay, they just uncovered the organ and it IS a B-3….
Well…I think it is a conscious plan for the right to make up lots of fake scandals so when a real one comes along, no one will notice. Luckily, someone did notice this one…a real one, and did a story on it last week. As you know, the right would love a country where companies can pollute as much as they want and push the cost on to the taxpayers when cleanup time comes…and that any environmental regulation is a “job killer” that has to be stopped by any means possible. To the repubs, that means suing the government any time we try to do anything to improve the environment…but this time the suits against the new carbon regulations have a buried little scandal that no one is talking about….before any repub state AG filed any suits against the new regulations, they met with all of the usual suspects to plan strategy…and that means coal companies, oil companies and every other one that poisons the people for profit. It was also revealed that these AG’s received millions of dollars in political contributions….and, of course, this didn’t have any bearing on whether the suits were brought (snark)….but, the worst part is since these repub state AG’s are bringing the suit, you and I are paying for it…yep, our taxes are paying to sue our own government to allow companies to poison us…and the companies walk away with their only cost being the donations to the repubs, not the true costs of the suits which would be hundreds of times more cost to them. Pretty normal for the repubs…use government to reward their buddies while we pick up the tab…geez…
Well…I am so damn tired of the media these days when they ignore the slush fund that is the Trump foundation that has been used illegally to make political donations and to secretly fund lawsuits against AG’s who sued the fake Trump University…and what do they focus on? Hillary has pneumonia…every network, every news show…wall to wall today about a common sickness and the effects she showed from it. Of course, the right wing slant in the media is that having pneumonia disqualifies her from the presidency…and that has already morphed into: “what is she hiding about her health”….now, I’ve had pneumonia and the symptoms I had mirrored what Hillary had…the long term cough that drags on and then the rest manifests in quickly declining…it put me in the hospital in the course of one night after walking around with it for a couple of weeks…and yes, you do feel weak…I hit the floor after getting off the bed getting ready to go to the hospital….the really sick part is that there is no sympathy for her feeling bad…just the normal Clinton conspiracy crap that is constantly floated by the right….while Trump continues to lie, cheat, and steal and not a word about it in the press….I fear for this country if the media continues on this path….geez…
Well…got up this morning and I feel a little off…not sure what it is but I don’t like it…I did get the chicken roasted yesterday and it came out so darn good…very juicy and flavorful with the rosemary butter that I put under the skin….my thigh is just killing me this morning and that is almost a week now and I wonder what I did to hurt it…have done nothing out of the ordinary so it is a little confusing…so, it’s back to the ibuprofen again today….maybe it’s my hip…have had problems with them in the past…since I was a kid, really, but I hope it’s not something chronic….need to run some errands today but I just can’t get motivated to get going yet…as I said, just feeling off today and just want to go back to the couch and finish my coffee…so I will…more later….
Well…out on the ride today I had a thought…there seems to be lots of hawks out there now…every day I see at least one and sometimes up to five of them and that never happened when I was young….I remember that when we sighted one then, it was something of a special event…the same goes for turkeys and geese…I never remember seeing any turkeys when I was a kid and we spent lots of time in the woods back then….the only geese we saw were in the sky, not in the crowds of them everywhere we see now…I wonder what the change was? Is it the cleaner environment or that we are encroaching into their habitats? Just musing a little…..
Well…yeah, I know what day this is but I’m not going to talk about that today…it’s been done too much…I had a pretty productive day yesterday with getting the cobwebs taken care of, doing laundry, and vacuuming…the place looks pretty clean now and that is cool…got sucked into the Star Trek marathon again last night and that was okay…just have gotten bored with races….I did get the chicken brined but had a huge leak in the first gallon bag I put it in….brand new and the damn thing leaked….it was nice to have the humidity go away last night…I am really tired to be damp all the time and not being able to sleep…okay….the Moto GP race is on so I’m going back to the couch to have more coffee…more later…..
Well…with all of the delusional stuff on the internet, it is not often that something fresh comes up that make you shake your head and laugh…but today is one of those days. Just read an article about a video out there called “There are no trees” that posits that the forests we see on earth now are not really forests and don’t contain “real trees” just small versions of the real trees that used to exist and towered hundreds of kilometers high carrying it’s own ecosystem. For proof, the makers cite Devil’s Tower as being the stump of one of the real trees and then goes on to say that other geological formations are more stumps. Now, you just have to hand it to the flat Earth folks…doing all the work to invent a brand new delusion for people to embrace…and the internet fringes have with over a hundred thousand views of the video…I haven’t seen it…not going to waste and hour and a half of my life on someone else’s delusions when mine work perfectly fine….oh, one last thing…these “real trees” sound suspiciously like the “Integral Trees” of the novel of the same name by Larry Niven…that was a pretty good story…but, just a story…
Well…didn’t shoot pool yesterday so I didn’t win or lose…I did have to go out late in the aft and the traffic around here is starting to look like Chicago….took me 45 minutes to get from here to the north end and that is a pain….my right thigh is just killing me this morning and this is a pain that has been been around for a while now…hurts like crazy on the bike and I’m not sure how I hurt it….didn’t get a lot done yesterday and, with all of the sports on, today looks like the same….I was watching the Manchester derby but Man U looks so bad I went back to the Star Trek marathon…and, sine the game started early, I am running early here today…which is a good thing since there is rain coming and I need to get out on the bike before it gets here…no cooking today with all of the leftovers I have in the fridge so the chicken will have to wait until tomorrow…I do have to brine it today but that only takes a few minutes…okay…going to check on the match and finish my coffee….more later…..
Well…what a wasted day yesterday….I did get the grocery run done but little else…not sure if that should bother me or not…after all, I really don’t have a lot to do….I am really tired of the humidity but I don’t want fall to come just yet…it was cool going out in the fog this morning and seeing the clouds blowing past….I think I have enough food now that I can hunker down for a month or so and not spend any more money….and I think I’ll try that…going to be a little lean for a while….haven’t been sleeping much lately and I am starting to feel it…just dragging this morning and I hope it doesn’t continue all day…there is a Star Trek marathon going on on BBC this morning so I think I’ll go back to the couch and watch that…more later….
Well…not sure if you watched the debacle of the commander in chief forum last night, I did watch part of it and all I have to say is shame on you Matt Lauer. What a poor excuse for moderating this idiot did…the difference in how he treated Hillary vs. Trump was just stunning…going on for almost half of Hillary’s time about the stupid e-mail “controversy” that has been ginned up by Fox news with Matt interrupting Hillary constantly and showing her no respect at all…but when ole Trump came on, it was an ass kissing festival where Lauer let Trump lie and lie and lie and never called him on any of them…even the easily proven lies; never interrupting Trump once…just letting him go on and on spewing his ignorant nonsense and basically kissing Putin’s ass through the whole thing…lavishing praise on his “leadership”…when his “leadership” meant the murder of thousands and causing a war in the Ukraine. The ironic thing here is that he treated Hillary like some kind of criminal when she has never been charged or convicted of anything but completely ignoring the bribes, bankruptcies, and cheating that Trump does on a regular basis…along with the scam school of Trump U whose only purpose was to steal money from the rubes. I have lost all respect for Matt Lauer and think he should just go back to fluff pieces on Today…he has shown that he doesn’t have what it takes for serious political journalism…shame on you Matt Lauer…geez…
