Well…with the colonoscopy rapidly approaching Monday, and the prep that is going to put me out of commission both Sunday and Monday, I thought I’d talk about some local Michigan election issues before that…to start, get the hell out to vote Tuesday if you haven’t already….that’s the start and I don’t care if you vote for dems (okay, yeah I do) or for the cheaters on the other side, just take an hour out of your busy day and vote. Let’s start with the race for governor here in Michigan where we have Gretchen Whitmer, the dem, up against the waste of space Bill Schuette, the repub….now, if you remember a few years back when the repubs were trying to insert themselves into every woman’s health care decisions by restricting abortion care…again…and Gretchen got thrown out of the state senate by the repubs who control it for saying “vagina” on the floor of the senate…that should be enough to vote for a feisty woman who cares about fairness and truth in government…but, there are so many other reasons to vote for her that I won’t list them here but will just say that she is a true progressive who will take this state forward, not back to the 1800′s like Schuette wants and has tried to do as AG. Now, let’s remember the millions of your tax dollars that Schuette spent to try to keep our LGBT friends from getting the equality they have a right to…that they are guaranteed in the constitution…but to Schuette and his troglodyte cronies, they are less than second class citizens who need to be hated and attacked. Only one other thing you need to know about Schuette, other than he’s a trump loving right wing asshole…and that is he didn’t care when Snyder and his incompetents were poisoning the people of Flint to try to save a little money….resisting all calls for an investigation into the decisions when it is the AG’s responsibility to protect the citizens of this state from malfeasance of the government….so, it’s a pretty clear choice of who would be better for you and I and this state…vote for Gretchen and let’s put the dark days of repub control behind us…for good…

Snyder piles on…
Well…after ole Schuette wasted money and time this week appealing the equality ruling and joining the fight against ACA subsidies, we now have ole Snyder piling on the few same sex couples who got married over the weekend by instructing all state agencies to not recognize these legal marriages,…as I’ve said before, the repubs rail and rail and rail about Obama “picking and choosing” which laws to enforce, then do exactly the same thing to discriminate…at least Obama does it to enlarge rights and fight for the middle class…these idiots do nothing but try to keep their enemies down by denying them rights that everyone should have….what a bunch of crap….geez….
Schuette just hates the people of Michigan..
Well…with today’s revelation of our AG’s suit against subsidies for people getting healthcare in the state, we can see that Bill Schuette just hates the people of Michigan…going so far as to take affordable insurance away from residents just to prove that he hates Obamacare and any program that helps people who need it. Where the hell were you before Obamacare passed, Bill? Not a peep out of you for people whose insurance was canceled, not a peep for people with pre-existing conditions that couldn’t get insurance, not a peep for people who couldn’t afford insurance….but, you roar like a lion against the basic help the the ACA provides to people who need it…just like the appeal of the equality ruling, and conspiring with the extremists at Right to Life of Michigan to take away womens access to their healthcare, ole Bill just hates the people of Michigan and solving any of their problems…just make sure they are held down and don’t have the avenue to financial security or equality….this is your repub party, hate, hate, hate…geez….
Schuette is still an idiot…
Well…with the bankruptcy filing in the city of Detroit, I was extremely surprised to hear that our AG, Bill Schuette, has come out to say that the state will defend the public sector pensions of the retirees of the city. Must have been a really hard thing for this tea party idiot to say since he normally picks and chooses which laws to enforce and almost always lets his personal beliefs dictate what those laws are. The thing is, though, the courts always slap him down and tell him he is wrong, and that is a good thing….and, I am going to make a prediction in this case that his true colors and his hatred of unions and the middle class will shine through….here’s what I predict: he will present a half-hearted defense of these constitutionally protected pensions; making sure that he he screws it up just enough so that the courts will slap him down, again…then, he will call a press conference to say that it’s not his fault…that it is the big, bad federal government that is taking the pensions and he will then go on to rail about socialism, Obamacare, and the fascist in the White House…typical tea party talking points and he will get what he wants…more talking points on how bad unions are since they can’t protect your pensions so you shouldn’t trust them or join them….I may be giving him too much credit for having the smarts to pull this off but with their drive to eliminate any power for the middle class, I would not be surprised….geez…
Idiots reign here in Michigan…
Well….has the stupid in the repubs here in Michigan reached it’s peak? Nope, not yet it appears…our wonderful gov and atty general here have decided to defend the discrimination built into the protect marriage act after a federal judge has said that the law is unconstitutional and has said that a suit by a same sex trying to adopt some special needs kids can go forward. The reasons to reject the couple’s claims that these idiots are citing are the same ones that the supreme court laughed at in striking down DOMA last month…but, that doesn’t deter the haters here…with Snyder and Schuette going so far as to say that the 14th amendment doesn’t apply…in direct opposition to the specific findings of the supreme court decision. So, the government here in Michigan is going to spend millions to defend a law that even a lay person can see is unconstitutional; pandering to their quickly shrinking base who are now far in the minority here…what happened to the will of the people? Just another instance where these righties have to do everything in their power to keep people that they hate from getting the full rights as American citizens…their time is numbered and I can’t wait until it ends and we can get back the America that doesn’t hate, that doesn’t try to limits rights for political gain, and that doesn’t do everything it can to subvert our democracy…geez…oh, and if you had any doubts, the people I’m talking about are all repubs…
More lawlessness from the right…
Well…I marvel at times how the repubs became known as the “law and order” party when, here in Michigan, we have a repub AG that thinks he is the only person who determines what the law means…starting with the medical marijuana law (or I should say continuing with this law) which he opposed when it was put on the ballot a few years back, Mr. Schutte has formed a pattern of lawlessness that would make a bank robber proud. His latest nonsense came after the supreme court ruling on healthcare yesterday when he said that he would not take part in implementing the law saying that we should wait until after the election in November when he feels that the repubs will win the presidency and repeal the law. First, this man has a duty to all of the citizens of Michigan….not to just the hard right that he panders to on a daily basis and those of us that don’t have insurance would like the possibility of getting it that comes from the new law. Second, when did our constitution change to read that the AG could substitute his political decisions for the will of the people? The courts here have slapped this idiot numerous times, showing that he is not the great legal mind he thinks he is but just some overly political hack using his office to push his crazy far right agenda on the people. But, this is just the latest outrage from this man…and Governor Snyder should straighten him out today…geez….
