The repubs are still delusional…

Well…I have been amazed over the past few days with the behavior of the repubs in congress and their response to the Obama plan to start to tame the deficit…I am particularly amazed that these guys are still so unserious that they offered the Romney plan that had no details or numbers in it other than some general numbers that it looks like they pulled out of their asses. Repubs, you lost the frickin election and if you think you have any leverage, you are certifiably crazy. Who the hell are you representing? When the majority (over 60%) of the American people looked at your plans and said HELL NO….you must be delusional that you think that anyone other than your rich masters want what you are selling. Let’s get this perfectly clear..tax cuts for the rich DO NOT LEAD to jobs….every economist, except the one the repubs listen to, Arthur Laffer, tells you the same thing and yet you want to keep doing it expecting different result…this is the definition of mental illness…and some of the repubs in the house even came out today and said that they wanted to let payroll taxes rise on the working class saying “they have to feel some pain”…I kid you not…they want to protect the rich from any “pain” in the form of higher tax rates, but they are willing to push that pain onto workers…these folks do not deserve to have anyone take them seriously…I hope the White House see it the same way…geez…

Boehner is still an idiot….

Well…just a little short one to comment on the jaw dropping comment that ole John made after the dustup over the extension of the middle class payroll tax cut that was resolved last week. The quote goes like this: “…we fought the good fight. Why not do the right thing for the American people even thought it’s not what we (the republicans) want? What a revaltory statement that I’m sure he didn’t want to make…he’s just not that bright but it did lay bare the repubs contempt for the American people and our country that is held by these folks….that they don’t give a damn about anyone but the party and those of the 1% that bankroll it and buy repub seats in congress. I hope Boehner’s comments are plastered across the media for the next year and Obama keeps hammering them on their lack of concern for anyone but themselves….geez…

Tax shenanigans….

Well…if it wasn’t so sad, watching the repubs try to justify not continuing the payroll tax holiday for middle class workers without getting a new pipeline for their oil company owners would be funny. But, it really isn’t…it just another example of the sad state of affairs in the modern republican party that is dominated by the tea party. One of the really sad things is that, even with the claims of Rick Perry and some of the other repub candidates that the pipeline is really a jobs program since it would create between 100,000 and a million jobs, none of that oil is even going to be used in the US since we have become a net exporter of refined oil products. So, what is this pipeline about? It’s about more and more profits for the oil companies who don’t really give a damn that the pipeline will run across one of the largest aquifers in the central US, and that independent analysts have said will create maybe 500 new jobs; if that many. This is what happens when business owns one of the two parties here in the US and will never be better until we take their money out of the equation….and get the repubs back to representing the people who voted them into office not the corporations that bought them their seats in congress…geez…

One other thing…

Well…I was going to get to a couple of topics in that last one but the flow was such that I thought it should end with just the one…so, I needed to come back with another comment on maybe a little bit of shining hope that the rational folks in this country deserve…yesterday, (or the day before), Obama came out firing against the hypocrites in the repub party for protecting the Bush tax cuts for the rich, while making sure the payroll tax cut is not renewed…one that will benefit mainly the middle class. I think this is a narrative that needs to be shouted from the rooftops…that the repubs have never met a tax cut for the rich and connected that they didn’t like, and that they have never met one that benefits the middle class that they did….and that these folk have sworn to protect Grover Norquist more than they have sworn to protect the Constitution…geez…

Do you need any other reasons?

Well…the true colors of the repubs continue to seep through their carefully crafted conservative coats….this week, another layer was peeled off of their hatred for the middle class when they refused to back the continuation of the payroll tax holiday that primarily benefits the middle class. These hypocrites are back on their same old tired mantra that any continuation of these tax breaks for workers must be paid for by additional cuts to the programs that benefit the middle class…in essence saying that workers can have tax cuts if they pay for them. But they never said that when they cut taxes for the rich or corporations, of started two wars that were not funded….when are we going to tire of this nonsense? When are we going to call these idiots out on this naked grab of middle class money that is then given to the rich in the form of tax cuts? I know, you guys are getting tired of hearing this but who else is going to hold this corruption up to the light?

Do you need any other reasons to never vote for these crooks again? Geez….

A couple of little ones…

Well….I think I’ll give ole Rick a rest for the day and just muse about a few things…first, can the repubs get any more blatant about their disdain for working people? They pledge to fight to the death to continue tax breaks for the rich and business but when it comes to the extension of the payroll tax cut for workers, they have pledged to fight it’s extension….just more evidence that they have no idea how the economy works…workers will spend that money while the rich will just bid up the prices of luxury items like paintings, Maseratis, etc. and other non-productive uses…when do we get back to the America where we think big and do big things? I was heartened to hear Warren Buffet come out and say that he knows that the super rich like him are undertaxed and he can’t understand why the repubs are lined up one and all to give him more breaks….we all know why they do it…the repubs have been bought by these people and that’s what money does…it distorts the political process and puts people into office that know they can ignore the people that vote for them and continue to steal the rest of the country for their owners….okay, that’s enough for now….I may be back later if something grabs me….
