Where’s our progressive warrior?

Well…watching the fiscal curb nonsense that has been going on over the past month or so, a question has come to mind about Obama…”where’s our progressive warrior?” Where is the person that we elected to take the results of the election and turn it into policy? Where is the person that was supposed to protect SS and Medicare at all costs and get the revenue side of the economic equation back in balance? After all, government spending and taxation is at its lowest point in almost 50 years as a percentage of GDP and the economy is sluggish because of it…take one look at Europe and you will get the idea of what the repubs plans to continue to cut spending will do…we will certainly have a double dip recession with more people out of work and less tax revenue coming in…I have had enough of compromise with the terrorists on the right…they have changed politics from the collaborative art of compromise to one of take no prisoners…to one of winner takes all and no matter how much Obama may want it, we aren’t going back to compromise any day soon and he needs to wake up to the new political reality and be the tough warrior for the middle class that the repubs are for the rich…and he needs to do it now before this country is forfeit to the know nothings on the right…geez….

There are still some adults…

Well…I am kind of laughing today when the terrorists on the right were out maneuvered by some of the adults that are still in Washington on the fiscal curb…they have repeatedly just said no, no, no on everything that has been done to try to actually govern the country and the people that are still there and want to actually move the country forward have figured a new way to cut these idiots out of the process…and the big irony here is that they could have gotten more of what they wanted if they would have negotiated in good faith, but now there is a path that can basically ignore the tea baggers and let them continue to throw their tantrums while business gets done. The good thing is that even the repub leadership, such as it is, has gotten tired of the nonsense and has started to listen to the people…some of them have even started to use math again; something that is beyond most of the baggers, and see that if they don’t start doing the peoples work again, they will be gone. One other thing that I see that is a plus is that there will be less of these idiots on Thursday when the new congress convenes….it’s about time….geez…

A bunch of dysfunctional second graders…

Well…I have been watching the fiscal curb negotiations over the past couple of days with an ever growing disgust for the repubs in the house…I mean, after the senate voted nearly unanimously to pass a bipartisan compromise bill, the dysfunctional second graders that are the house repubs wouldn’t even let it come up for a vote with the mob of crazies blocking the bill being led by Eric Cantor who is only thinking of himself and his rich donors…everyone knows the little shit wants to be speaker and will do anything including destroying the economy to do it. The only good thing that is going to come out of this is that the approval rating of the repubs (which is at an all time low of 12% right now) is going to approach zero and they are going to pay for it in two years…but, the country can’t wait for two years to start to fix the problems we have…some adult needs come forward and put these idiots into a time out…and then we need to make sure there is a permanent dem majority that will act in the country’s best interests…not those of the damn 1% and the self interested repubs…geez…

Now we can move forward…

Well…after the debacle of Boehner’s defeat last night, now we can move forward with marginalizing the crazy assed right wingers in the House….and get a bill that the progressives can support. But, the problems there is we need to find around 20 reasonable repubs (I know, that is the ultimate oxymoron) to come with us for the good of the country…not just the 1%’ers that are still pulling the puppet strings for most of the repubs…but, one of the things we must do, or what Obama must do, is to take the SS nonsense off the table to get the dem caucus behind him…and then let Pelosi do her work to construct a bill that doesn’t compromise progressive principles. Look, you know the repubs don’t want to govern anyway when ole Boehner says “it’s up to the pres and the Senate now…” abdicating any responsibility to look after the well being of the country or its citizens…going over the cliff is going to be a fun ride….

Obama is disappointing me…

Well…with the news coming out of Washington today, all I can say is if the rumors are true, I am so disappointed in Obama that I don’t know what to say…it appears that he is going back on his promises to raise taxes on the rich and not cut benefits to the rest of us…the latest is that he has even allowed SS to be cut when it has absolutely nothing to do with the fiscal nonsense that is going on. At least Dick Durbin has come out and said that that kind of crap won’t get through the senate so at least there is one person in Washington who is looking out for the middle class and there needs to be more…I’m talking to you Harry Reid, it is in your power to make sure that Obama does not cave in to the repubs and if he doesn’t have the guts, you have to have them….geez…

The repubs are still delusional…

Well…I have been amazed over the past few days with the behavior of the repubs in congress and their response to the Obama plan to start to tame the deficit…I am particularly amazed that these guys are still so unserious that they offered the Romney plan that had no details or numbers in it other than some general numbers that it looks like they pulled out of their asses. Repubs, you lost the frickin election and if you think you have any leverage, you are certifiably crazy. Who the hell are you representing? When the majority (over 60%) of the American people looked at your plans and said HELL NO….you must be delusional that you think that anyone other than your rich masters want what you are selling. Let’s get this perfectly clear..tax cuts for the rich DO NOT LEAD to jobs….every economist, except the one the repubs listen to, Arthur Laffer, tells you the same thing and yet you want to keep doing it expecting different result…this is the definition of mental illness…and some of the repubs in the house even came out today and said that they wanted to let payroll taxes rise on the working class saying “they have to feel some pain”…I kid you not…they want to protect the rich from any “pain” in the form of higher tax rates, but they are willing to push that pain onto workers…these folks do not deserve to have anyone take them seriously…I hope the White House see it the same way…geez…

Boehner is flabbergasted….

Well…I am laughing my butt off about ole Boehner’s statement the other day that he was “flabbergasted” about the WH’s offer on the budget negotiations…and he couldn’t understand how Obama could be so tough….John, there was an election, you guys lost…and Obama is doing exactly what he campaigned on and what the American people approved….and what do we get in response from mr. flabber? We get a re-run of the Ryan budget that has been rejected twice now by the American people….and 65% of Americans want taxes raised on the rich…can’t these people move into the real world? I hope they keep it up….the only reason they still have the House is that they fixed the election in many districts….so, the order of the day is attack from our side…keep just going on putting our ideas to the American people who love them…no negotiations with these thugs…not now, not ever…geez…

More noodling…

Well…I do need to get this one in to get to the quota for the month so I thought I’d just noodle around a little and see what happens…I can’t believe how stupid the repubs have been in this whole deficit fight…last year, they wouldn’t take a deal that gave them 10 bucks of cuts for every buck of revenue increase because they really thought, in their deluded little minds, that they were going to win the presidency and the senate and then be able to do their slash and burn on medicare and Social security while given even bigger tax cuts to the rich. Guess what repubs? You lost and the dems ran on raising taxes on the rich and preserving the social programs…so why the heck are you surprised that this is what the dems are doing? Are you just stupid? You lost, and now you roll out the rejected Ryan budget as your one and only attempt to avoid the fiscal slope? I just hope you keep it up…keep showing the American people you don’t give a damn about them while we salivate about the prospects of 2014…what a bunch of idiots…geez…

Words mean something…

Well…listening to all of the talk, talk, talk that is going on about the budget negotiations, I have a piece of advice for both sides but for the dems in particular. Stop using loaded words when you talk about the negotiations….watching the news last night all I heard from the commentators on the left and in the middle was that the repubs were going to “cave” or “buckle” on tax increases on the wealthy to start to work on the deficit…and I think that these kinds of words mean something and are making any such deal even harder. I think it goes back to the Japanese concept of “face”, and it would be a good idea for the dems to think about how they can work to help the repubs save face in these negotiations and stop rubbing the fact that they got smacked in the last election in their faces. Of course, I would propose that this would only go so far as the repubs actually governing for the entire country and not their rich bosses….if they can come to the table with facts and be adults, I think it would be good for those of us on the left to help them…and go back to governing the country, not just fighting all the time…
