Well…I thought I’d seen it all but I guess not…with the battle over immigration policy raging in DC and the do nothing repubs frothing at the mouth that Obama is going to do their jobs for them, the latest from the senator from crazy, Tom Coburn goes way over the top to overt incitement to terrorism. Today, ole Tom came out and said that “they’re going to go nuts (talking about his supporters)…you could see instances of anarchy…you could see violence” tacitly approving that these are tactics that are perfectly appropriate as a response to a political dispute…one of the repubs own making. If I was more of a conspiracy theorist, I might think that this has been the plan all along…to gin up some reason to get his crazy assed followers to use their “second amendment remedies” to destroy what this country is all about…that political disputes are to be solved peacefully; that the transfer of power after elections is done peacefully without the crap that these folks are pushing…since they hate the fact that government needs to work to make a country work….they are doing everything in their power to ensure that it won’t work and then when their inflammatory rhetoric results in violence, they will stand back and say “see, I told you Obama is going too far” and the people agree with us…no matter that they won this last election with 19% of the vote of the people. It just like the gangster from the movies that says “gee, nice country you got there…it would be a shame if anything happens to it…” Inciting people to violence for political ends is the definition of terrorism…you should be ashamed Coburn…geez…

It’s never a liberal or an atheist…
Well…I have to wade in on a thought that has been rattling around in my mind of late and it crystallized some over the past few days…when you see the shootings, bombings, or other assorted hate that pollutes our society, it never comes from liberals or atheists…two groups that the right would have you think are the ones who are destroying our society, but from the crazed right and with the rhetoric that the right and their followers have thrown around since their loss in the election; the secession nonsense, the “second amendment” solution nonsense, and the calls for armed insurrection, what the hell did you expect? When you have crazed parents that sit with their guns and rail constantly about taking back our country, filling their children’s heads with the nonstop Fox propaganda of hate, what the hell do you expect is going to happen? When you have one of the major political parties demonizing everyone that doesn’t agree with them, what the hell do you expect? When you have major Christan groups that applaud the killing of doctors that provide abortion services, what the hell do you expect? I am going to lay the blame for the coarsening, death, and hate on the place where it belongs…the modern right and its political party, the Republicans. Geez…

Well…just reading an article that, in the weird way my head works, brought to light other small articles and congealed into something I want to talk about. I know, still burying the lead in some of these but this isn’t a newspaper and those rules don’t apply here….and, how long does it take to read a couple of sentences? So, on to the subject….the whole thing was started by an article about a guy who couldn’t figure out how to get the security to work on a new wireless router, gave up, and left the thing running overnight. Later that night, a pedophile neighbor logged on to his router and downloaded millions of child porn pictures. Of course, the police and their captive judges don’t really need probable cause anymore and issued a warrant for the guy whose only crime was that he couldn’t figure out a wireless router. But that’s not the worst part…the FBI, ICE, and local police then had to form up a swat team that kicked in his door, threw him down some stairs and held him at gunpoint until they took him in to be charged, tearing up the house and confiscating all of the electronics in the house; many of those belonged to his wife. The question I want to ask is “when did every police action in the US become one that these thugs have to abuse American citizens? What is wrong with a couple of detectives just walking up to the door, knocking politely, and asking if they can talk? What, in this man’s history, would make them think he was violent? The answer to that one is nothing….that’s right, never in trouble, no violence, no nothing. and, if the police would have done the very simple job of checking out the username that was involved…they would have seen that it was not him…but that doesn’t matter to the thugs that infest our police today.
There are too many stories like this in our country today…that the citizens are more scared of the police and government than they are of terrorists….if that is the case, then who are the terrorists? And, to those that always come back with the tired old saw “if you aren’t doing anything wrong, you have nothing to fear”…..that’s just not true anymore….if this man would have defended his home and his family, he would be dead…dead for an unprotected wireless router…is that what we’ve come to in this country?
