Well…finally made some visible progress on the house yesterday and got the garage door painted after spending a couple of hours removing the flaking paint…the color I chose may be a little too yellow but that is the original color of the house and I am taking it back to those colors….I also got the chainsaw work done…after having the chain come off the first one and having no tools to put it back on, I had to run all the way back to the south end to get a replacement to finish the job…I did get the last section of fence removed and most of the stumps cut out but I still need to chop the rest of them out since they grew right next to the retaining wall and were too close to get the saw in to cut them…so, I’ll get a hatchet next week and finish it up…the fence guys won’t be there for 6 weeks or so so I have plenty of time to get that done…I did buy a new string trimmer to use at the house for 39 bucks and with the problems I’m having keeping the gas mowers running, I may buy an electric since they are cheap at 89 bucks…and the lawn is so small that, even with a small electric, it can be cut in less than a half hour…I’m taking the day off today after beating the heck out of myself yesterday but will be back at scraping more paint tomorrow and filling the voids on the ceiling of the front porch so I can paint that Friday…and then I can start on the interior next week while I wait for the roof and windows to be done…which should be completed by the end of August and then I can get the water turned back on….and then take the power washer to everything and clean things up…still on track to have it ready for move in at the end of my lease…or earlier….

July 24th
Well…I just found out what is worse than getting up at 4:14…getting up at 3:10 and not being able to get back to sleep for very long after that…I think I’m at the end of it and am going to take something to help tonight…I feel pretty beat up this morning with doing the chainsaw work at the house yesterday and then getting the first coat of paint on the garage door…and that took lots of prep work before I could paint and I didn’t get back here until after 2…I may take the day off working today since I want to see the Mueller testimony and I’m pretty sore…but, I may go over and just scrape paint on the other part that is peeling badly…and I do need to caulk that, too, before I can paint it…that should only take a couple of hours so maybe this afternoon…I do have to remember to eat more with all of the expenditures of cals working…only had a couple of chicken breasts yesterday and that is not enough…it’s another cold one out there so I’ll need a fleece again on the ride this morning since I’m getting out at 7…at least it’s not raining so I guess that’s something…I think I need a day off today so I won’t be cleaning any around here today…but I do need to….more later….
Don’t get too excited…
Well…man, it’s been a day so far and I am finally home…I’ll talk about that later…with the Mueller testimony coming up tomorrow and Barr doing everything he can to keep him from it, I think we need to tamp down our expectations for any bombshell revelations from that testimony. After all, Mueller is just not that kind of a person…and he has already told everyone that he will only talk about the report without any amplifications and I think we can believe him…the funny thing that just happened is the DOJ sent Mueller a letter last weekend trying to tell him what he could and couldn’t talk about even though Mueller doesn’t work for the DOJ anymore, an as a private citizen, he can really talk about anything he wants…I think it is going to depend on how thorough the dems are with their questioning…wee know the repubs will attack everything and anyone with every damn conspiracy theory they have been spouting for the past two years and I think it will be interesting how long Mueller puts up with it…he seems the sort that doesn’t suffer fools gladly and the House repb delegation is filled with fools…so I will watch some of it until I see how it is going but have a back up plan if it sucks…impeach…
July 23rd
Well…what the hell is it about 4:14? Up again today at that time and it is getting gritting my teeth annoying…and then trying to get back to sleep is such a chore I wonder if I should even try anymore…I think this is almost a month of this crap and something has to give with me sleep walking through the day without any energy…oh, well…as you saw, I did get a lot of work done yesterday and today will be filled with more on the house starting with getting the last of the heavy lifting done this morning…going to be a chain sawing fool today and I think I’ll get on that early….and I need to unload all the supplies from the car…I’ve taken up every bit of room in it and I still need to find space for 3 gallons of water and the chainsaw….it looks like I’m going to need a fleece on the bike today since it is only about 54 out there right now but that will make it more comfortable working on the house today…I do still need to cook something today, too since all of the leftovers are gone and I have chicken in the fridge that needs to be cooked…or frozen…I’m into another I hate chicken stage after having so much of it lately so I’ll have to think of something else for a few days….more later…
House 5
Well…the house made it a busy day today with lots of running around to get ready to start painting…I did have to take the sawzall back to HF since the blade release lever broke but I didn’t really need it anymore after cutting the pipes so maybe that was not a bad thing…tomorrow is going to be chainsaw day getting rid of the stumps in the fence line but I don’t think that will take all day so I’ll probably get into exterior prep for painting after I get that done…I did get everything I need for painting from HF and I bought a small wet/dry vac that will help with interior clean up when I get to that…I will need to use that on my trunk tomorrow since the cement bag leaked all over my trunk and I do need to clean that out….went out and got the exterior paint, too, only needed two gallons but even with cheap Glidden paint, it was still over 60 bucks for that and another 60 for all of the paint brushes, tape, wire brushes, gloves, and the rest so the bucks are adding up fast. One thing that irritated me some is the contractor who I selected to do the roof and windows appears to have decided to not do the job so I will need to start the bidding process over again to try to find someone who will meet that cost…I wonder if that is a thing now…that contractors are so flighty that they do a quote and then just ignore your e-mails? That took me two weeks last time but I don’t have the time to do that again…will have to think about that over the next few days and figure out what I need to do….

Well…have been working hard today trying to get ready to start painting wed but just had to comment on the idiocy that just flooded out of the WH with the idiot trump talking to the press with the Pakistani PM sitting next to him…he starts off by bragging to the PM that he could end the war in Afghanistan in 10 days but that he would have to kill 10 million people and he “doesn’t want to do that”…he bragged that he could kill every man, woman, and child there by committing genocide but that would “win” the war there easily in 10 days or less….and the unhinged rant continued when he rambled on about something on the ocean floor that reporters could put on “scooby” gear and go down and take a look at…whatever IT is…he never got around to telling anyone what IT is…and then he finished up with saying he would campaign for the Pakistani PM the next time he was running for office…you know, I am really tired of this know nothing asshole polluting the country…and any elected official from the US is barred from campaigning for officials of other country by the law here…but trump wouldn’t know that, his is just to damn ignorant to know almost anything…and I am tired of writing about him so I am going to stop here and try to take a nap….I think we need to invent new terms for how stupid trump is…dumber than a box or rocks just doesn’t describe it anymore…impeach…

Well…damn, another early, early morning with getting up at 4:14 and I wonder if I’m ever going to sleep again…I walk around all day like a damn zombie and I know that can’t be good for me…but, I’m at a loss what to do for it…don’t want to take the otc sleeping pills again since that screws with my blood pressure but not sleeping probably does, too…and I’m going to be too busy to take naps in the afternoon this week with getting the contracts signed for the windows and roof and then getting on the stump clearing and starting the painting this week….just want to crawl back into bed…I did get the bathroom finished up yesterday so I wouldn’t feel guilty about letting this place go to hell as I work on the house…and I do need to come back here for a political one later…there really is too much to talk about but that may make it a little easier…I might want to take Wed off to see the Mueller testimony…or maybe I’ll just get the paint and wait til thurs to get started on that…who knows? July 21st
Well….running about on time this morning and remembered to come here on a Sunday morning for the first time in a while….I did sleep okay last night but it was another short one with not getting to bed until late and back up before 6…just feeling fatigued today and I’m not sure if I’ll get out on the bike today or not…did a double yesterday in the heat and that took a lot out of me and it is still raining…are those good enough excuses to take the day off? Not sure yet…I just want to have coffee and read the news right now so I’ll think about that later…I did get a little cleaning done yesterday and may do some more today with the heat going away but it is still humid as heck so that will wait until later…I do have a clean microwave so I guess that’s something…don’t have to cook again today with leftovers for chicken tacos and club sandwiches so it will be an easy one for me and I think I need that with the work I need to do on the house this week…want to get started on the painting after I get the path cleared for the new fence and that will signal that all of the heavy work is done for me so I won’t be as sore as I have been lately…but painting will use new muscles and will probably stress my shoulder some but I’m sure I’ll live through it….more later…
Don’t get too frustrated…
Well…with the announcement from the SDNY that there won’t be any more charges coming to anyone in the campaign finance violation case that Michael Cohen went to jail for…yeah, I know…my reaction to that is that the fix is in from Bill Barr in his role as protector of trump, not as AG….and that raised my frustration level quite a bit but, after thinking about it for a while, there may be something else going on. It is clear the both donnie jr, and Hope Hicks were part of the scheme and there is plenty of evidence to convict both of them…but, what happens if they get charged? Yep, idiot boy trump will just pardon them and obstruct justice some more with it…but, what I think the SDNY is doing is waiting on the charges until both Barr and trump are out of office so idiot boy can’t do anything about it…the statute of limitations will not have run out by then and they can then roll all of them, including trump and indict the lot of them for the multiple felonies the evidence shows they committed…I sure hope that is what’s happening and not that Barr has subverted justice again and protected a bunch of criminals just because of his fealty to trump…impeach…
July 20th
Well…do you remember where you were 50 years ago today? It’s been 50 years since we first landed on the moon and I remember being glued to the tv while the first steps were happening…think I’ll watch some docs about it today…it was another 4:54 morning this morning but I was able to get back to sleep until 6 so that was a little better…still not enough but better…I took the day off yesterday and it appears to have done some good since I feel okay this morning even with not getting enough sleep…the half hour nap I took in the afternoon helped, too, and I think I’ll try that again today….I did get some cleaning done yesterday and will do the bathroom today…and the microwave needs to be done, too so I will have things to do today…I did have to put the air on last night for a while with the humidity and it looks like I’ll have to do that tonight, too, but the weather is going to change and get cooler next week so I will have to bust ass on the house and take advantage of it…but not today…don’t even have to cook today with baking some chicken yesterday and having leftovers for tacos and club sandwiches….more later….
