Well…I have been trying to think about what to write today and it occurred to me that congress is back so tomorrow there should be some right wing nonsense to comment on…but today, I still need to think of something…maybe a grab bag one would be in order….I did laugh the other day when ole Marco Rubio declared that he is going to run for president…yep, still laughing today…there is no damn way that idiot is ever going to be president…I think it’s just a grift to get donors to give him cash so he’ll have a nice retirement fund when he gets beaten in the next election….then, there was the Hillary announcement…which I viewed as inevitable but she is not my choice…either Bernie Sanders or Elizibeth Warren would be better choices since they truly understand the struggles of normal working people and actually try to do something about it….don’t need to say anything about Rand Paul…he’s just crazy and way too thin skinned to be president…and he shows the entitled white guy attitude every time anyone questions him….people will tire of that quickly….anything else? Hmmmmm…nope, not right now….oh, Space X is going to try to land their booster again this aft around 4:30 if the weather cooperates…should be cool to see….

Saint Ronnie’s son…
Well…it’s been raining all day so that meant no bike ride today so I do have to do another one of these so the entire day is not a waste…I was watching “The Daily Show” the other day and the strangest commercial came on…that I am still marveling about…and it starred St. Ronnie Reagan’s son Ron who was on talking about the fact that he is a life-long atheist and is soliciting funds for the Freedom From Religion Foundation…a group that fights the religionists on the right from jamming their nonsense down our throats….now, as you know, I consider myself an atheist, too, and reject running my life on the superstitions of goatherders from 2,000 years ago, and I found that having Ron go on tv and proudly declare that he has been an atheist his whole life shocked me at first but then made me feel good that people of no religion are finally getting tired of god this, and god that every day all day. One of the best parts of the ad was at the end where Ron said something like “I know that many of you believe that I am going to burn in hell…but there is no hell so I’m not concerned…” It’s about time that we started to step up and put the delusion of religion back where it belongs….in churches…not in our lives…geez…
The NRA are a bunch of hypocrites…
Well…as you know, I think the NRA is made up of a bunch of crazies that think the solution to every problem is more and more guns everywhere….but, with this latest bunch of news, they are a bunch of hypocrites, too. These idiots have been behind all of the “open carry” nonsense where their members go around carrying guns everywhere just to piss people off…and they think they should be able to carry their guns anywhere…but not the NRA convention. They have just announced the rules for their convention and it does not allow operational guns anywhere in the convention…yep, these hypocrites that want people carrying working guns everywhere won’t allow them in their convention….I wonder why? Could it be that their whole open carry nonsense is just a sham to make more money for their manufacturers? And when it could cause the people running the NRA some danger by the idiots that they have worked up into a frenzy about gun rights? It’s pretty clear that they see weapons all over their convention as a danger either from accidents or deliberate shooting…what happened to the false “good guy with a gun” meme that thy have been pushing for years? If that was true, letting their members have working guns would make it the safest place in world but we all know that is a lie…and the lie couldn’t have been better revealed by not allowing guns at their convention…what a bunch of hypocrites…geez…

Well…have just been reading about ole Tom Cotton’s statements today that he will do everything possible to scuttle the Iran accord that will stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon…yep, they are already on the path to one and would have one in about a year…and this accord would add 10 years to that timeline…but ole Tom wants to ensure that they get the bomb faster so his supporters in the military/industrial complex can make more money by using the military to bomb Iran. That is just one of the most crazy ideas I have ever heard…oh, and one little tidbit to add to that…ole Tom’s biggest donors are all from that part of the economy…and, just after making these statements guess who he goes to meet with? Yep, these same donors to tell them he did exactly what they wanted and please give me more money….I am sick of these absolutist assholes who think that the only right thing to do is to use the military all the time as a first resort…what does this say to the world? That the US can never be trusted to abide by it’s agreements…ole Tom here wants us to be a rogue nation that is as bad as any terrorist country….and he is so naive to think that we don’t live in a world with other countries that we do have to get along with…I think there should be a law saying that every time we use the military, taxes must be raised to pay for it…that would shut these asses up pretty fast…geez…

Well…the site has been down this aft but my son got it running again so I want to just do a short one on a little statistic that I read the other day…you know how I and many others in this country think that the police are out of control and can kill anyone with impunity since they are never held accountable for it….but the scope of the problem really jumped out at me when I read this statistic…in the past month, police in this country killed 113 people….whether they were innocent or not, I don’t know…but to get some perspective…in the entire UK, police have not killed 113 people if you include all of the years since 1900…yep, it took them 115 YEARS to kill the same amount of people that our police kill in a month…now, I do understand that we are a much larger country but there is no way to explain the difference other than the difference in philosophy…where the cops in the UK don’t even carry guns and our cops are so scared that they need tanks and M-16’s…I’m not sure what the solution is…but the stats should shock the hell out of anyone…geez…

Well….if you remember this idiot who was the one behind the undermining of the administration’s Iran policy by getting 46 more of his other idiot repub senators to sign the ridiculous letter the leader of Iran…you do? Good…well, he’s back again with more idiocy that can only come from someone on the right…the other day ole Tom was commenting on the “license to discriminate” law that was passed in Indiana and said that he couldn’t understand what all the uproar was about…after all, they hang gays in Iran so the gays here have it pretty good even when they are being treated as second class citizens. Yep, he actually said that…I may have paraphrased a little but the gist of his comment was captured…that gays should just shut up here in the US since they are treated worse in another country…so by extension of his logic, women should just shut up since they are treated worse in other countries…and minorities should shut up since they are treated worse in other countries. Maybe ignorant senators should just shut up…don’t you think? In case you haven’t looked lately, Tom, the US has a little thing called the 14th amendment that gaurantees equal treatment under the law…not equal treatment for the people YOU think should have equal rights…what an idiot…the standard bearer of the modern repub party….geez…
Mike Pence is still lying…
Well…after ole Mike’s show yesterday at his news conference about his state’s ‘license to discriminate” law…where said repeatedly that the law needed to be ‘fixed” to go forward and garuntee that there would be no discrimination against LGBT people, this idiot goes on fox news and basically says “nevermind” that the law does not need to be fixed and he stands behind the law…repeating the repub talking point that it is not the law but the perception of the law that is the problem…and all he needs is a little propaganda from fox to make everything better…yep, Mike that’s it…it just the perception that the bigots in the state who will use this law to discriminate that is the problem and that Hoosiers will not discrimninate..so, when were you lying, Mike? At the news conference or on Fox? Just ask the O’Connor family who own Memories Pizza in Walkerton…who stated today that they will not serve gay people and said “it’s not discrimination, it’s just our belief and anyone has the right to believe in anything”…yep no bigots in the Hoosier state….Mike, you are such an idiot and the people that voted for you deserve to lose everything….geez…
Protected classes?
Well…had to do one more to make the goal for the month and I’ve had this one rattling around in my head ever since the idiots in Indiana passed their “license to discriminate law” last week. As you know…the repubs are all about the idea that there should be no protected classes in our society since discrimination is a thing of the past; attacking affirmative action, voting rights, women’s rights as no longer being necessary in our modern society. But then, in a fit of hypocrisy that is a hallmark of the modern repub…they create their pet protected class of religious believers…but the thing they don’t get is that religious folks have no right to not have their fee fees hurt by people that don’t believe in their kind of religion….they can believe whatever they want but they have no right to project their religious beliefs on the rest of us and make us adhere to them in the secular society at large…once they choose to be part of that economy, they have no right to discriminate against any customer and any service or product they offer to one, they have to offer to all…one of the straw men they put up to try to defend the law is that no one would expect a kosher deli to serve ham sandwiches…no you wouldn’t…but no one gets ham sandwiches..,.not just gays that are customers….I really think that today’s repubs are just a stupid, stupid bunch….they need to go away an leave the sane of us alone….geez…

Well…just watched the Mike Pence news conference and the only thoughts that came into my head is either lying or stupid…or maybe both, trying to make people believe that he never thought the law would result in discrimination while it’s supporters, who stood behind him when he signed it crowed that discrimination was the purpose of the law. But the striking thing to me is how well he used the repub playbook of victimhood….that Indiana is the target of a “smear” campaign by outside media and the problem is just of “perception” of the law. If you follow the news at all, this is the go to repub tactic whenever they are challenged on this nonsense….it’s not that the law will permit discrimination (it does) but the perception that people have that it will allow discrimination…or that people found out that this law will permit discrimination and they surely wanted to hide it from the general public…just like they lied about right to work here in Michigan and Wisconsin. The “outside media” claim was exploded by the biggest paper in the State…the “Indianapolis Star” having a front page editorial today that called on the Governor to get rid of this hate legislation and ensure equal rights for all people in Indiana…but ole Mike said that rights for everyone is different than this law so they have to be dealt with later….he even said last week that LGBT rights were not on his agenda. So, bottom line…the repubs got caught trying to use the law to discriminate against people they hate…that’s the only takeaway…that they got caught…not that it is wrong to discriminate…what a bunch of asses…geez…

Well…after the idiot governor, Pence, went on the Sunday shows a lied his ass off about the new “license to discriminate” law that he signed, the fallout continues….a major union just pulled their conference out of Indianapolis…Angie’s list just stopped an expansion that they had planned and many states have forbidden their people from any travel for state business to Indiana….and this idiot continues to double down on his lies along with attacking the media for their “sensationalism” in their reporting. Now Mike, ole buddy…it’s not sensationalizing when they truthfully report that you won’t say that this law will lead to discrimination…when you know for a fact that it is the sole purpose of this law…and you were asked pointedly about just that fact and you wouldn’t answer that simple yes or no question. So, citizens of Indiana…it serves you right to have this attention on your state…you elected these asses….geez…
