Well….running late this morning and am having another of those mornings where I just can’t get started and they are getting more and more common…and I’m sure I don’t like it….I did sleep okay last night and didn’t get out of bed until almost 7…but I was up since 5 and that is about normal and I wish that, just for once, I would sleep until it’s time to get up…oh, well….I did get a bike ride in yesterday and it looks like I’ll be able to get out today, too since it is going to be in the low 40’s before the extreme cold comes in Tuesday and lasts forever…the ponds on the trail are almost frozen over so all of the swans have disappeared and that is a little disappointing…but I still get the phrase “swan lake” in my head every time I ride past them…they look strange sleeping and floating and one time there were over 10 of them in a group and I’m not sure if I’ve seen that many in one place before…didn’t get anything else done yesterday but I will have work to do today with getting the sanding done in the kitchen so I can paint early in the week….but I don’t feel like doing anything right now but having more coffee and reading the news…so that’s what I’ll do….more later…

Well…running a little late today since I just can’t get moving and wanted to ease into getting started…but that was going to turn into not starting at all if I waited any longer…so, here we go….slept okay last night and even had some dreams that I don’t remember….hmmmm…I wonder how I know I had dreams if I don’t remember any? I do know that I feel pretty worn out today…oh, I remember the dreams….there were all about being sick and not being able to go to work…or going to work and being told to go home so everyone else doesn’t get sick…yeah, I know…pretty damn weird since I don’t work anymore…didn’t get a lot done yesterday but run out to get the venison…even skipped riding the bike since I got so damn cold standing around out there and just couldn’t take being cold again…I am going to try to get out today but it will have to wait til later with it being in the 20’s until this afternoon…I was out last week when it was 33 and that is inching toward my low limit for being able to ride and not freeze my butt off…not much to do today…I do need to get the sanding done in the kitchen and clean up after that…and Man U plays City this aft and want to see part of that until they go behind but that will be about it for my day…more later…

Well….I did get out to the south end today to pick up some venison that B hunted in November…he gave me almost 10 pounds of steak and burger and that will start being used in tacos tomorrow…stood round at the old complex shooting the shit in the cold so long that I didn’t warm up at all until I got under a blanket here for an hour or so and that is going to keep me off the bike today…just can’t get cold again and I am sore anyway so taking a day off will be okay…I need to wash the bike and get ready for bringing it indoors and setting up the trainer for next week…almost made it to 4500 miles outside this year but with highs in the 20’s next week, that just too damn cold to ride outside. I did get a little surprise today with one of my credit card bills that came in the mail….over 400 bucks for that one so I really do need to not spend another dime until February….yow….

Well…running a little late today and couldn’t even get motivated to get out of bed after waking up at 5….so, it’s 7 and I’m just getting started on the first cup of coffee that I hope works pretty quickly…slept crappy again last night so were back at square on with that and it’s a little frustrating…but, I am so used to not sleeping well that it is no big deal…I don’t feel to bad this morning even with the crappy sleep but I feel like I’m in low gear that I hope the coffee will shift…I did get some work done on the dining room yesterday and need to sand the re-plaster today so I can get at painting it next week and today I need to clean out the spare room to get started working on the prep in there…but, this morning I need to run back out to the south end and pick up some venison from B so I can make tacos over the weekend…and he’s giving me some steaks that I’ll saute in garlic and butter and that will be yummy….my new soundbar for the tv is supposed to be here today and I can’t wait to hear how it sounds…if it works with my tv…my audio out is only optical and some tv’s don’t work with the modern equipment so we’ll see….have been saving some movies to watch with it so it could be movie night tonight if it works….I do need to get on the bike here as soon as it gets light so I can get that done before I head out to the south end around 10 and it is already warm enough to go…but it looks like next week is going to get ugly with highs wed of only 15…looks like a good day to hibernate….more later…

Well….back to not sleeping again and I knew that would happen…still don’t like it but this is more normal than sleeping is to me and it leaves me less confused…still feel like I have a little bug but it may be that I only had half a chicken breast to eat yesterday and skipped dinner altogether…just didn’t feel like eating…but I did make some pouch carrots with brown sugar, olive oil, and onion flakes that came out really good so I’ll have to remember that for another time…I do have a couple of pork chops marinating in the fridge for today and I think I’ll make one of those for lunch today….still don’t feel like eating but with being able to ride the bike every day, I do need to make sure I keep fueled up to be able to support that…I did get a bunch of stuff done yesterday with doing the grocery runs and then some organizing downstairs and I need to continue that today with working on prep for the kitchen painting that I want to do next week…and I need to defrost the upstairs fridge in the next week or so….and clean…it seems that this house needs a lot more cleaning than my apartment did…I think that may be the focus of the day today and tomorrow…need to start putting tools away since the major work is done and they don’t need to be on the counters anymore….I can’t wait until I get my new soundbar for the tv tomorrow…it’s my last purchase until January since I need to build up my cash reserves…won’t be comfortable until I have enough in reserve to put a new furnace in here if the old one dies….and that will take into the spring….more later….

Well…running a little late today with not having the motivation to get going any sooner….just don’t need to rush even with doing the grocery run this morning do I think I’ll just ease into things…haven’t been feeling too hot the past few days and I’m not sure what that is about…I did get out on the bike yesterday and it was much more work than I like with having to be really careful of the ice that was still on the trail…and it was only 33 when I went out and that is at the bottom edge of what is comfortable for me…took most of the afternoon to warm up after getting back here…but, it is already warmer than that right now so I can get out as soon as I get back from errands…slept okay last night but was up at 4:30 again…I was able to get back to sleep for a half hour or so and that helps….but, I’m still pretty worn out and that may be from not eating enough…I am a little happy that I finished the turkey from t-day yesterday and can move on to other food…yeah…the normal stuff…more  chicken and tacos…I do like turkey but every day for a week is just a bit much…not much to do today…just the errands and then work around here…and I think there is a SpaceX launch this afternoon that is always cool to watch…more later…

Well…the streak ends at 4 with waking up at 4:34 this morning and not being able to get back to sleep…but, it was a good run to get 4 in a row and maybe a new streak will start tonight….I seem to have slept okay but  am having a hard time getting started in the morning lately and I think I know what the reason is but I’m not sure I want to change it…I am getting tired of eating turkey and that will end today with the last two meals so I need to plan something and get it out of the freezer…or just wait til tomorrow and get some fresh chicken from the grocery run…I do have a couple of pork chops in the freezer that I could take out so I’ll think about that later….I did get some prep work done in the kitchen yesterday and will continue to do more in there today…Have been getting some stuff done around here the past 4 days in a row….hmmmm…I wonder it that has something to do with my sleeping? It may but we’ll see…the work I’m doing is just light stuff for now but I did get to straightening up the basement, too and that needs to continue….it is nice to have music to work by again with getting the receiver working again…oh, and in the quiet garage I can hear something start to buzz when I reconnect the battery in the car so I may be able to find the voltage drain by just listening…a project that I will fool with over the next couple of weeks….more later….

Well….that’s four days in a row of sleeping all night and not getting up til 6…this is just too damn weird….but this morning I don’t feel too hot…just exhausted and am having a hard time getting started….the coffee is not helping yet either…oh, well…just getting old I guess…at least I don’t hurt as badly as I did yesterday but the low level pain is till there everywhere…okay, going to stop bitching about that….the vestibule does look good after finishing it yesterday and that is motivating me some to complete the painting…just have the cabinets in the hallway and the spare bedroom to do and the majority will be done…still have the dining area of the kitchen to do but that is going to take some prep work that I may work on today have some big cracks to be repaired and then some window work….have to strip the paint off the frames and that is slow going…didn’t get a bike ride in yesterday but I may try to get out today to see if they plow the trails…don’t think they do but it would be cool if they did…not much to do today…just going to ease into it right now and let the coffee do it’s work…today would be a good day for the extra caffeine coffee…I may add one scoop of it to the next batch just to try it…more later…

Well…with all of the damn snow this morning and how heavy it was, I had a hell of a time just getting out to get the newspaper today…almost got the car stuck on flat ground at the gas station where I buy the paper…but, that’s not what this is about…it is about how much I hurt now from pushing that heavy crap to clear my driveway and sidewalks. My thumb, right hip, and right shoulder are just screaming at me and I even had to take something for it a little while ago to make it tolerable…hmmmm…I guess part of it could be that I put the second coat on the vestibule, too, but most of the pain was already there to the point that I had to use the roller with my left hand….and that was a trip since I never use my left for detail work…or much at all really….and my shoulder is back to the popping and creaking it was doing just after I crashed the bike a year ago…so, yeah, I feel old tonight and may have to take the day off working on the house tomorrow to heal up some…and that adds a pain in the ass to the pain list…oh, well…back to politics tomorrow…

Well…this sucks…got up this morning to 6 inches of that wet, heavy snow that kills lots of old guys when they go out to shovel it…and barely made it out to get the paper…almost got stuck at the end of my driveway and on flat ground over at the gas station where I get my Sunday paper…but, I didn’t and not having to clean the car off before going out is still pretty cool…I did sleep through the night for the third day in a row and I am really confused why that would be…I’m not doing anything different than I have for years but I guess I shouldn’t analyze it too much….I did get the vestibule painted yesterday and am hoping I have enough paint left to put the second coat on today but it’s going to be close…and I am not going out to get more paint today so it may end up being a two day job…and that’s okay….it’s such a small space with lots of detail on the door and around the lights that it took quite a bit of time…I did get my last piece of basement equipment yesterday and got it up and running and that is pretty cool….now I’m just waiting for my sound bar to arrive and then no more spending until January…not much to do today…it’s pretty obvious that there will be no bike ride today and I can use the day off…so that leaves sports with the F1 race on at 8 and then Man U plays at 11:30 so that will take care of the morning but it looks like a boring afternoon….more later….
