Well…running a little early today and I don’t care why…feel a little crappy today since I was not good last night….and I don’t care about that either….had a fun day yesterday with shooting pool and having the top down out and back….I think I won…but that will probably be the last one for a while….I should check the mega to see if anyone won…yep, someone in Illinois…darn….oh, well….I need coffee….one cool thing is the premier league starts again this morning and it’s nice to have something to run in the background as I do these…I am still geeked about getting a SD ticket yesterday for 39 bucks….should be a ton of fun….not much to do today….have to get a bike ride in but that is about it…..and cook….should clean the bathroom and I just might…but I might not…more later…

Steely Dan update…
Well…just on a whim, I decided to go out and look at ticketmaster again since people on Facebook were talking about cheap tickets….and there were! Got one for 39 bucks…it’s way in the back but in the front row of the section so no one will be in front of me…and it’s still closer than the lawn at Pine Knob….I am getting excited to go by myself and to not have to think about anyone else for the first time!
99 bucks for Steely Dan?
Well…I was really excited when it was announced that Steely Dan was coming to the VanAndel in October….I even went out to check ticket prices and saw that they were offering a 59 dollar ticket and thought that would be cool since there really are no bad seats there. But, this morning, I went out to check Ticketmaster and get signed on to get ready to buy a couple and the lowest price is now 99 bucks…now, if this was going to be the first time seeing them I’d pay it…and that would make it the most expensive concert ticket ever for me…but for the seventh time? Nope…the last time I saw them at Freedom Hill, the tickets were only 24 bucks for lawn seats and we were allowed to move into the 150 buck seats when a storm came through….I’m not going to rail against them for the tickets being so expensive…it’s just priced me out of the market is all….
August 11th
Well….got a pretty big surprise yesterday when I got an e-mail saying that Steely Dan is coming to the VanAndel here in GR…tickets go on sale today and I am going to try to get a pair…not sure why since I don’t have anyone to go with but I guess I could sell the second one…can’t really afford it but it would be cool to see SD here in town…had a pretty good day yesterday but didn’t get much done…and today looks the same….just don’t feel like doing much right now….don’t hurt too much today…no back pain or any other pain other than the normal stuff….I did make potato salad yesterday and got it pretty close to what I remember as a kid….I remember fishing with it on the hook…the bluegills loved it…I do have pool today and I am looking forward to it…haven’t driven the car at all in the past two weeks…more later….
August 10th
Well…running late today with the grocery run done this morning and I have lots more to do so it is going to be a busy morning…need to get my hair cut still and then over to ups to send the old phone off…so this one is going to be short since I still have to pack the old phone up….had the top down over to Meijers and left it down for the rest of the errands….didn’t get a lot done yesterday but I will get a lot done today after errands since it is going to rain….hope I can get the bike ride in dry since I don’t have a bag ready to fit the new phone in…I do need to cook today but that will late til later….okay, need to get started packing the phone…more later….
August 9th
Well…running a little early today and after day three of being good, I feel pretty good this morning…slept okay last night but still tossing and turning but I’ll take that….still pretty sore today after getting back on the bike yesterday but it was s good ride and I hope for another one today…but I need to wash the car today, too, so I can wax it later…..and I need to send the old phone back so I don’t get charged for it….I do like the new phone but almost screwed it up with an app that took over the phone and reconfigured it…got that fixed and I think I’ll live with it how it is for a while….I do need to try some new tones for the texts since it’s a little weird….not much to do today…need to move early today…going to wash the car as soon as I’m done with coffee so it will dry…and the glass is streaky and I need to double up on the ammonia to clean it…more later….
August 8th
Well…slept okay again last night but the tossing and turning is coming back slowly….but, I was good last night so I feel okay today….hoping for everything to get back to normal and I can have an easy day…okay…most of my days are easy but just want it back to normal…my back flared again yesterday but I was able to cope with it without any painkillers so that was cool…and it doesn’t hurt right now so that’s a good start to the day….didn’t get a lot done yesterday but getting the phone up and running so today I’ll have to get back on the bike after I work out…but, after more coffee….and some more news…more later…..
New phone…finally….
Well…I finally got the new phone today and it is pretty cool….and, it’s an android so I know how to work most of it already…it’s a Samsung Galaxy S-7 and it is quite a bit bigger than the old phone but really thin…and it works on all of the sites that I use without having to fool around with it or get thrown off….I guess these are pretty fragile so I need to get a case for it tomorrow…they have about a hundred different ones so I will have to do a little work on that one….I do have to get my ears used to the new sounds that it makes….pretty darn modern…it won best phone for 2016….not used to having modern stuff….other than the laptop, that is….
August 7th
Well….I hope yesterday was the last day of being without a phone…it has been a pain and it will be more of one today as I try to get it up and running….slept okay last night but feel a little slow today so I think I’ll ease into it for now and let the coffee work some….didn’t do a lot yesterday but I did get a bike ride in…the day off the bike did some good and my legs don’t hurt today so that is something…. and it is raining right now so I think I’ll wait until after the phone comes to get out today….I do have to go to the bank this morning but I think that is about it…I should clean and I think I might after I get the phone up and running…..more later….
Little things…
Well…into the third day of not having a phone and I think it’s the little things that I use mine for that I miss the most…like the temperature…it’s always at hand when I had my phone and now it’s a pain in the butt to just find that out…and even the time…when I was out on the bike today, there was no way to figure out the time…well..I could have done it with the computer on the bike but that takes about 5 different screens to get to….and the ability to check the news any time I want I think I miss the most…I know I have the nice new laptop that has worked just too great since I got it, but the habit of using the phone for the quick stuff is still there…I reached for the phone this morning out of habit…and I even did that on the bike today since I check for texts all the time….oh, well…just one more day to go and things will be back to normal…I hope….and there is a new “Sharknado” on tonight….and I got the notice that my SS starts next month and and it is more than I expected so that was a pleasant surprise…..will have plenty to live on and even buy some of the things I have been needing…..
