Well…it was a pretty good day yesterday and I won at pool, finally, so that was cool….made some cash, too, and I had a surprise lunch with T that made me smile some…so that’s why it was a good day…and I have all of my chores done for the day…except for cleaning and it’s not even 8:30 yet…slept okay and feel okay today and I am looking forward to getting on the bike today….I did get a nice surprise at Meijers this morning….they had chicken leg quarters on sale for 29 cents a pound so I bought two 10 pound bags…yeah, that’s a lot of chicken but at 29 cents a pound? There is just no way I could pass that up. So, I think it will be chicken today instead of the pork loin that I planned on….maybe both? Not much to do today…it is a huge sports day today with F1, soccer, horse racing and more races so after about 1 I am going into complete veg mode for the day….more later….

June 5th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I made a little cash so that was cool…not going to talk about sleep since I’m not sure it exists anymore…it may be like a unicorn…a mythical creature that only exists in fairy tales….so, that said, I am running a little low on energy today that I am hoping the bike ride will cure…didn’t get a lot done yesterday and that will be the case today, too, since it is pool day…I do have some things to get done around here but the cleaning will wait until tomorrow….my legs are much better but I am having a lot of trouble getting rid of the pain in my neck…and, no, that’s not a person…it’s just this tightness that is really annoying…I’m hoping that the bananas will help with that along with the cramps in my calves…not much to do today…oh, already talked about that…more later….
Ted Cruz is the worst person in the world…
Well…I apologize up front to Keith Olbermann for stealing his schtick but there is no better description for Ted Cruz for what he did this week….at some speaking engagement, ole Ted was trying to be his smarmy best to the ugly crowd and decided he needed to make jokes about Joe Biden…the same Joe Biden who is burying his son right now…the same one who has seen tragedy throughout his life, losing his wife and young daughter in a car accident many years ago…but that doesn’t matter to ole Ted, the only thing that matters to him is to get a laugh at anyone’s expense….but this, this is just the distilled essence of the modern republican….the cruel psychopath that doesn’t care about anything but his ideology, who doesn’t care that…okay…who just doesn’t care about anything except himself….how can he live with himself? Quite easily, it appears…the essence of a psychopath according to the APA….geez…
June 4th
Well…running a little late today and it’s another one of those days where I just can’t get started…only slept about 4 hours total last night so that makes the energy level way too low…and, I had to do the grocery run this morning so that set me back, too…no dreams to speak of other than about self done haircuts…yeah…that is pretty weird but I’m not sure of the context of it so I can’t draw any conclusions…the funny thing about not sleeping last night is that I got a text from T after 1:30 and I was up to answer it…that doesn’t happen very often with the earplugs I wear to sleep….didn’t get much done yesterday and that makes the spiders a little bit larger today…will need to get rid of them soon or I won’t be able to get in the bathroom….not much to do today….no record run on the bike since my neck is hurting and I just don’t feel like it without getting much sleep…..but, I will get something done today…not sure what that will be but something….more later…
Going for a new record…
Well…haven’t found anything to write about today so I think I’ll just talk about an idea that came to me while out on the bike today…as you know, I broke the speed records on the bike last week and I think I’ve about hit the top speed for this bike…just not enough gear to get going faster…but, there is a record I set last year that I am going to take a crack at in the next few days. Last year, I did the full 15 mile ride in 56:42…aided by lots of coffee and no wind and I think I have it in me to try to break that one…probably should do it soon since I do nothing but keep getting older…I do have to prepare for it this time, though…need to over eat for a day or so and get lots of bananas to keep the cramps at bay….the legs were good today and it felt good so I think it may be Friday that I’ll make the run…could be tomorrow if the weather holds…stay tuned….
June 3rd
Well…running really late this morning and I feel like crap so I am a little confused…was good the past two nights so I guess it must be allergies…slept okay but no dreams again….okay, that boring so I won’t talk about that…didn’t get much done yesterday but I will today…need to do the kitchen and the spiders have grown larger so I need to get them out of the bathroom….not much else to do really but get a bike ride in…thankfully, the legs are better but I have been getting cramps in them the past few days so bananas are on the grocery list for tomorrow….didn’t win the Mega last night but someone did so there goes that last little shred of hope….not much to do today…going to shift into slow mode today and just sleepwalk through cleaning but that is about it…more later….
The cost of brutality…
Well…just read an interesting little article in the Free Press about the individualized costs of just one police brutality case in the city of Inkster…if you recall, an idiot cop dragged a guy out of his car under false pretenses and beat him mercilessly…in this one case the cop was fired and is now under trial for multiple felonies in relationship to that beating…never mind the many, many others he was responsible for. This article put a new spin on the 1.38 million dollar settlement to the beaten man…they broke it out as a per household amount that is going to have to be paid through a millage increase that will tax everyone in Inkster…and that comes out to $178.30 property tax increase for a house that is only worth $55,000…yep for each homeowner they are going to have to kick in almost 200 bucks to pay for this one case of police brutality…I wonder if this will help end this nonsense? If I lived in Inkster, I’d sure be yelling for changes so this wouldn’t ever happen again…and, I would press the city to file a recovery lawsuit to get the money back from the fired officer….geez…
Special rights….
Well…I have just about had enough of the right’s railing against the “special rights” that they think gays will get if they get the same rights as the rest of us here in the US…I have yet to have anyone that supports discrimination against gays explain to me what these “special rights” are but there was a huge dose of irony that has come out of North Carolina over the past week dealing with the “special rights” that they are close to granting magistrates there that have “deeply held religious beliefs”….yeah, I put that in quotes because that phrase means they have deeply held bigoted beliefs that they think they should be able to act on…even if it is their job to issue marriage licenses. This new law, that was vetoed by the governor but looks like will be upheld with a veto override, grants these magistrates the ‘special right” to refuse to issue any couple a marriage license if they just shout “deeply held religious belief” before they discriminate…and, while the purpose of the bill is to allow discrimination against gays, it’s scope allows any magistrate to not give a marriage license to anyone they don’t like…interracial couple, check….Mexican couple, check, couple from a family they don’t like, check….how can we just saw these stupid states off and let them float away? These guys hate “special rights” unless it is for them and no one else…..geez…

Well…running a little late today since I just haven’t been able to get going…and the computer is giving me fits again but I think I have that fixed…and, we tied at pool for the second time in a row which is really weird….slept okay and had some dreams that were too boring to tell so I won’t…and, it’s frickin 42 degrees? In June? just can’t take this crap and forgot to put the heat on for the second night in a row…so, it’s cold in here and I’m having hot coffee to try to cope…it just on principle that I won’t put the heat on now….didn’t get a lot done yesterday and probably won’t today either….just can’t get moving….but I will in a few minutes when I start the workout and then get on the bike…more later….
Tax cuts don’t create jobs…again….
Well….as the bidding goes on and states keep falling all over themselves to see how much money they can give to corporations to “create jobs”….there have been a couple of new studies that have come out that say that it doesn’t work…two repub budget directors from here in Michigan have weighed in on the Snyder tax cuts for business that were supposed to create jobs…or that ole Snyder is lying about saying they did…there have been no jobs found that can be attributed to those tax cuts…the only thing they have done is bust the budget and ensure that the roads won’t be fixed…there was also another study that I would think would be the final nail in the tax cut coffin….in New York state, they doled out over 30 million dollars to the “job creators” and guess what was the result? 76 jobs…yep, 76 jobs for 30 million dollars of taxpayers money…..when is this idiocy going to stop? geez,,,,,
