Well…running a little late today with not getting out of bed until almost 6:30…not sure how I slept but I am pretty sore this morning and my calves are hurting for some reason…I did do a double on the bike yesterday but I do that often and they never hurt before..damn, I’m getting old…maybe it’s because I went much harder than I planned on the second ride? Who knows? I did get out and run some errands yesterday to get some food and get my mega tickets that I haven’t checked yet…I do need to win 400 million dollars…the guys didn’t bring my new appliances yesterday and I am a little irritated about that…I do need a washer that works so I can get some laundry done…I think I’ll bitch to the office if they don’t come today…or, maybe not…don’t really need the washer for a couple of days but I do need it by the end of the week…it looks like I won’t be getting out on the bike until later today since it is raining out there right now but I need to do doubles to get to my goal of 500 miles for the month…ha, it just struck me that I’m going to do 500 miles in the month that the Indy 500 is run…that made me laugh…not much to do today….going to just ease into the day since I don’t feel that hot and I’ll decide later how much cleaning I’ll do….more later…

One down…many, many to go..
Well….guess what? You’re getting another one early this morning as I wait for the guys to bring the new appliances…and this is a little bit of good news for those of us who thinks the law applies to everyone. Just yesterday, a court decided that yes, idiot boy trump’s accounting firm Mazars HAS to hand over 10 years of trump’s financial records to the House Oversight committee and the ruling is a strongly worded affirmation that the House does have the authority to get any information they need to carry out their duties and the fact that he refused a stay while idiot boy’s lawyers appeal the decision says that the judge feels that the decision will survive appeal…as long as trump’s hand picked judges don’t overturn hundreds of years of precedent and ignore the clear intent of the constitution. So, the dam starts to break and this is just the first of many losses that trump is going to suffer as he breaks the law every day trying to cover up his crimes….impeach…
May 21st
Well…feeling a little run down this morning and I know it’s from not eating enough this time since I didn’t have anything for dinner last night but a little potato salad…and my stomach is roiled some this morning, too, so I may have to make some toast or something for breakfast…slept okay last night but both shoulders hurt again today and that is getting a little annoying…my legs were okay on the bike yesterday and taking a day off seems to have worked but we’ll see when I do a double today…if I do a double today…have a couple of errands to run after they come with the new appliances this morning…my DD store has packages of 20 ozs of brats for 1.49 and I am going to splurge and eat some bad food for a change…oh, and boneless skinless chicken for 1.49 a pound, too, so I’ll have protein for the weekend….I also have to run to Meijer’s to take back some wax that the sprayer broke the first time I tried to use it and get my Mega tickets for tonight…400 mil and I could use the cash…I do have laundry to do today and I can’t wait to use the new washer and dryer….more later…
Some good news for a change…
Well…as I said this morning, my clothes washer died yesterday with the agitator stopping so I put in a repair request online this morning…and that is really convenient…and a couple of the guys came this morning to tell me that they are bringing me a new washer and dryer tomorrow…and Chris told me that I have the last set of originals from when this place was built 25 years ago so that was weird…that was good news since the old ones were just worn out and so damn noisy I couldn’t hear anything else in here…and, when I got the mail this morning, right in front was a letter from the IRS…and normally, that is never a good thing but this time it was just a notice from them saying that I overpaid my taxes and they were sending me a check for 156 bucks…and the check was in the same batch of mail! So, I have to figure out how to spend it…maybe a new pair of shorts? Or 2/3rds of a set of tires? Not sure yet but it is a good problem to have…
More lies…to war….
Well…sitting here waiting for the maintenance guys to come to look at my washer and thought I’d talk a little about a new development in the constant attempt by the idiot trump and his idiot NSA John Bolton to lie us into war with Iran. If you remember, Bolton was instrumental in lying us into war with Iraq pushing the WMD bullshit and how did that turn out? 7 trillion dollars later we have a barely stable Iraq that is more closely allied with Iran every day and none of Bolton’s or Cheney’s predictions were even remotely true….and now he is pushing trump into more war crimes in the middle east with the lies that Iran is building up to attacking the US. When this bullshit was presented to our truth based allies, they all laughed in Mike Pompeo’s face and told him bluntly that they are misinterpreting the intelligence and they will not go along with any attack on Iran…and will even condemn the attack in the UN and side with Iran. I wonder how happy Putin is with this latest wedge driven between the US an Europe by their installed puppet trump? Putin seems to be getting everything he wanted by elevating idiot boy…and I can see that smirk on his face that says he can’t believe how well his intelligence operation worked. No one in the world believes anything trump or his administration says anymore…can we have a little more winning please? Impeach…
May 20th
Well…running about on time today with getting up a little after 6 and don’t feel too bad…just a little worn out but my legs don’t hurt much so taking the day off the bike was a good idea…I really can’t remember having to have the heat on this late in May but it is only 44 degrees outside and, without it, it would be about 65 in here and that is just too darn cold for me…my washing machine gave up the ghost yesterday so I had to put in a request for them to install a new one today and I hope they do the dryer, too…I could use some new appliances for my last year here…but that means I have to clean a little before they come…and make sure that they can get it done easily so my disruption is a little as possible…so that will put the bike ride off until this afternoon and that’s okay since it is going to be cold until then…I took the day completely off yesterday and got nothing done so I will have a few things to get done today….I do have to cook at least one meal today since I still have instant pot leftovers and then need to plan some for the rest of the week…probably will run the instant pot again tomorrow with some chicken so I can free up some space in my freezer….I do need to figure out some new food since chicken is getting really boring but I’m not sure what that would be right now…more later…
109 miles to go…
Well…hmmm…it’s a lot harder to not ride than I thought it would be…have been staring at the radar all morning trying to see if there is going to be a break that I can fit in an hour…but, I need to take a day off today with how flat my legs were on the second ride yesterday…but, that’s not what this is about…over the years, you’ve heard me talk about various personal records that I have done on the bike and I only have one more to set or break…in 109 more miles this month, I will finally get to better than 500 miles in a single month…as you remember, I got to 1000 miles for the first time before May 1st this year and that crazy riding has continued for the first three weeks of the month…and that leaves me with 12 days to ride the 109 miles I need to get there….that is one of the reasons I am having such a hard time sitting here and healing today…I know it should be pretty easy to get there if I keep up doing doubles every day but it looks like rain every day this week so there will be some dodging of raindrops necessary…that will leave me with no other goals other than trying to get to 4,000 miles for the year but I’m not sure I can get there…we’ll see…
May 19th
Well….damn near forgot to come here to do this one this morning…again…and I think part of it is the distraction of having a real newspaper to read on Sunday mornings…slept okay last night and don’t feel too bad today other than a little stiffness from riding too much over the past week…just did three days of 30 milers and 6 of the past 7 days of double rides so I am rooting for storms today so I can take a day off…I shouldn’t have to have an excuse to take care of my legs but you know how my guilt won’t allow me to do it…just looking at the radar to see if there is going to be a hole that I can get out in and I shouldn’t be…read an article the other day that explains the exhaustion I’ve been feeling and it all comes down to my body screaming at me that it needs some healing time…it even recommended taking 2-3 days off but that is never going to happen…I did fire up the instant pot yesterday to make some chicken leg quarters and they came out great so I don’t have to cook today or tomorrow and that will leave me kind of bored today so I guess I’ll have to clean some….but not yet…still on the first cup of coffee and need it to work more before I want to do anything…more later…
Crooked damn Michigan republicans…
Well…I guess the will of the people means nothing to Michigan republicans…of course, we knew that with their continued efforts to rig elections here to make sure they control the state when they get massively less votes in every damn election. The latest from these anti-American assholes sees them trying to destroy the constitutional amendment that would undo their partisan gerrymandering and that was approved by 61% of the voters here that would take the drawing of congressional districts out of the hands of these cheaters and put it into the hands of a bipartisan commission that would draw the lines fairly…but no, the repubs know that fairly drawn districts would put them permanently in the minority here so, of course, they are trying to defeat the Michigan constitution by refusing to fund the commission, trying their best to prevent our democracy from functioning for purely partisan bullshit. Now, since we control the governorship and the attorney general’s offices here, we can stop them from passing any of this last gasp of cheating by the repubs…but why should we have to? Why do we have to put up with the repub party here never ever doing anything to solve the problems we have here but just continual naked power grabs that make life here worse. We need to throw every damn one of them out and burn that party to the ground….
May 18th
Well…damn it was a little cold when I got up again this morning since I forgot to put the heat on last night…and I slept in all the way to 6:03…yeah, that’s a little sarcasm…I do remember sleeping in back in the olden days when I would get up and it was 9 or 10 but I wonder if it was a real memory or not it has been so long? Oh, well….I did get two bike rides in yesterday but don’t think I’ll attempt the double today…although my legs feel okay today with very little pain so maybe…I think it will depend on the rain and when it comes and goes…I was a little surprised how hard it was raining when I got up but it looks like it will be moving out in a while so I can get out before 10…want to get that done early today since I am going to make some chicken in the instant pot for lunch that I got for 49 cents a pound this week…and now I have no room at all in the freezer so I won’t have to buy any protein next week…10 pounds is a lot of chicken…not much to do today…going to clean some and then just fool around most of the day…more later….
