Well…I have been sitting here today trying to make sense of the crap that is coming out of the repubs these days…the supposed party of smaller government is on a tear in the upper plains states with their major attacks being on women…big surprise…with these idiots passing clearly unconstitutional laws on abortion just to prove a point? Then, they will spends millions of lawyers fees to try to defend the laws when they know they will be struck down…the same thing the repubs are doing with DOMA in the US House…and you know what I think? I think they just don’t care..if they can find another way to take tax money and give it to their rich lawyer buddies while denying Medicaid to the poor…just another case of welfare for the rich. Just like those pricks and I can’t wait for 2014 to make them all go away…geez…
Some car stuff…
Well…have been thinking about a political one for today but wanted to get some car stuff out first since there have been a few things that have happened to the car since March 12th…I did hit a curb with the right front in the snow a couple of weeks ago and may have bent the front some…it seems to pull to the right but the thing is so sensitive to uneven roads that I may not have…I did just check the pressure in that tire and it was only 25 lbs while the other front had 30 so that may have something to do with it…and, I don’t really remember how it drove before I hit it so it may be all in my head….the steering wheel is still straight so maybe I’m just going crazy…the rest of the car has been perfect all winter and has used no oil in the last 4,000 miles and that is just too cool for a car with 155 K on it….and, all of the coolant leaks have been found and fixed so it is just a normal car now…I am getting addicted to Miata.net but need to stop reading all of the posts about the parts failures or I’ll never take the thing anywhere again…
April 1st part two…
Well…did the math and it’s been almost three weeks since I’ve been here…and not being able to do this has been harder than I thought it would be..I did do a little writing over at Kos but I feel more comfortable here doing the kind of free form stuff that I like to do…I did sleep okay last night but it was a cocktail night so I really can’t tell anything by it….one thing that I find funny is that I seem to have lost my ability to type quickly….and I was talking to Tom the other day about not writing anymore but to do a podcast but this just seems to be natural for me…didn’t ride the bike yesterday or today with the wind blowing so hard…oh, I do need to share that I had to replace all of the rear drive parts on the bike…shifter, sprockets, and chain since they had over 12,000 miles on them and the new chain wouldn’t mesh…have it working better than ever now and I guess the 60 bucks was worth it….okay…need to do some other stuff so I’ll end here…oh, not much to do today…I have been letting this place go to hell so I do need to clean up and get rid of the papers again…but, it is still so cold out I think I’ll wait for tomorrow….
April 1st
Well…as you have probably noticed…this site has been down for a couple of weeks with a massive server crash and waiting to get the backup copy so it could be rebuilt…so, I will say thanks to my son J for all his hard work getting me back up and running…and now I have a couple of weeks to get caught up on…it was really kind of strange not being able to do this every day and it did leave a hole in my day that made me feel uneasy…like I was supposed to be somewhere and couldn’t remember where it was…but, now I’m back and ready to get on with it again. It was an okay day yesterday with Michigan crushing their opponent in the tournament and making it to the final four….and their was a free preview of HBO on the dish so it was an all day marathon of “Game of Thrones” in between so that was cool. When I left to get the papers this morning I found a 20 lb propane tank on my doorstep that Brian brought me..I had it filled and tried the salvage grille that he found me and it works so there will be cleanup today and I will be grilling tomorrow…yay…okay…I do need to eat lunch and get the bike ride in but I will be back for many, many more of these today since I have my head filled with things to comment on and need to get it out before it starts to hurt…more later…
Who is Paul Ryan kidding?
Well…I am laughing my butt off at the “new” Ryan budget that is so much more of the same old crap that even the Murdock owned Wall Street Journal is panning it…how many more times does he think he’ll have to increase the tax cuts for the rich and gut everything else before he is successful? Again, this is the definition of insanity “doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results” and shows that the repubs are so delusional that they can’t even think of anything else to do…even though the American people (who generally have more sense than this idiot) soundly, roundly rejected this nonsense in the last election. Exactly who are these guys governing for? Oh, yep, stupid question….the same old folks that don’t believe in economics, or science, or anything they don’t hear in the echo chambers of the right. I just have one thing to say…”keep it up!” at least until 2014 when we can send Ryan and the rest of the austerity nuts back to the tea parties they came from. Geez…
March 12th
Well…running a little late today but thought I’d get this one done while I wait for the car to melt…kind of a surprise having to do that with it being over 50 yesterday….it was an okay day but the overdoing it from Sunday made it harder than I like it to be and I do not like feeling like crap all day…but, I was good last night and I feel much better today so that is a good start…sleeping was a a challenge again last night and I think I got about 4 hours but that is almost the new normal and I guess I’ll just have to live with it….I still think I may have a bug…or probably it just year round allergies…that would be a pain if that is the case but maybe I’ll try some OTC stuff to see if it helps….not much to do today…looks like pool will be today but that is about it….more later….
More on the Emergency Managers…
Well…tried to get out on the bike but the problem seems to be that the rear gears are just worn out and need to be replaced…but that is not why I’m here…with the imminent takeover of Detroit by the state of Michigan with the naming off an emergency manager, I felt it was time to throw a few more details in about how they have worked in the past. First, let me say that the real intent of these anti-democratic actions by the state and the repubs that are running it is to do one thing…to break the unions and move many thousands of people out of the middle class…it’s as simple as that. Sure, Detroit is in financial trouble but it is from population flight, a deteriorating tax base, and the cutting of state revenue sharing that has hit all of the towns and cities across the state…and the revenue sharing has gone down to give tax breaks to business, the repubs one size fits all of governance…it’s raining, cut taxes, revenue is down, cut taxes, if the sky is blue, cut taxes….all the while never even asking business to prove they are creating jobs for all of those tax cuts. The other bad part of this whole mess is that, when you look at the numbers, the cites taken over by them do not get better….but, you know the repubs think facts and numbers have a “liberal bias” and really don’t pay any attention to them…they just hate democracy so much they have to try to rig the system any way they can and this is just another tool like voter suppression to keep them in power…geez…
March 11th
Well…it was a really long day yesterday with going out for sunday funday with K and staying out way too long, and then having a cocktail night to finish it up…so, I feel like crap today and I am having a hard time getting going…I know part of it is the time change since it is really only 8 right now instead of 9 but that is no excuse…okay, it is an excuse and I am going to use it…I don’t remember missing yesterday’s post but it looks like I did..or, it could be that the site just lost it again…I may be able to get back on the bike today but, to do that, I need to get my butt in gear and get the workout in and get moving….more later…

Just a depressing day…
Well…sitting here watching “Leaving Las Vegas”, one of my favorite movies…and remembered I hadn’t come back here for the second one today…it has been a hard, depressing day today with the troubles that T has been having that I can’t get out of my head…and that has caused me to lose interest in politics…and everything else, really…so, I think this one is cheating to keep the numbers up…there are a few topics that need to be addressed, like the Menendez non-scandal…and the idiot O’Keefe paying out 100K to someone…and there was one other one that I just can’t remember right now….and now, I’m just waiting for it to get to cocktail time….so, on that note, I am going to go back to the couch and watch more of the movie…
