Well….running really late on this one today since I have been quite busy with stuff around here and I don’t really feel that hot…forgot to take some painkillers before the bike ride and now everything hurts…but, that’s not what this one is about….I didn’t watch much of the VP debate last night since I went out to have a couple instead and I really am getting tired of politics right now. But, I did read the analysis on all of the news sources this morning and came away with one thing…that Pence is just as big a liar as Trump…with one site showing that over 70% of what Pence said were lies…right in line with the Donald who did the same in his debate…and I do have to fault Tim Kaine for not calling him on the biggest one…that the Trump foundation and the Clinton foundation are equal…as you’ve read here, the Trump foundation is nothing but an illegal slush fund that Donald uses as his personal piggybank while the Clinton foundation uses almost 90% of what they collect to help people around the world…almost half a billion and counting. One thing that did happen is that ole Pence did start to throw Trump under the bus by trying to make the debate all about Pence…and the Donald was a little irritated about that…poor baby….one thing I wish Kaine would have done is to highlight the core of hatred for women that Pence has and his record of promoting discrimination against the LGBT community…really easy hits that should have bee made…geez…

Modern repubs…sigh…
Well….let’s add Mike Pence to those who have really relinquished their sanity to support the chief Idiot, Trump….at a Pence rally the other day, a woman asked how Pence could still support Trump when Trump attacks military families….and his response was that he has never met anyone who supports the troops more than Trump….as much as that is wrong on so many levels…basically every level…the worst part was that the crowd attempted to shout the woman down..who, by the way, has a son serving in the Air Force…she persevered and got through the question to shouts of throw her out and shut up…and, here is how ignorant the Trump/Pence supporters are…when they interviewed a few of them after the rally, they all said that the woman had “violated their rights” by asking a question they didn’t want to hear…now….I am getting really tired of pointing out what the constitution really means to these folks…the first amendment protects this woman’s right to speak out…it doesn’t protect you from hearing something you don’t want to hear….and it doesn’t give religious folks the right to discriminate in the name of religion…man…I am just shaking my head at all of the stupidity…geez…
Things are shaping up…
Well…have been sitting here trying to think of something to write about when the news came over Twitter that it appears that Trump has picked Mike Pence of Indiana to be his VP. The repubs in Indiana are cheering like crazy today since Pence was behind the LGBT discrimination bill that has cost Indiana tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars and had made Indiana the laughingstock of the country. Now, they can run someone for governor that has a chance of winning…and the business community will have a chance to get the law repealed. But the stink of this discrimination will waft right along with ole Mike as he rides into Cleveland but the christianist right will think it’s perfume since hate groups like Family Research Council have succeeded in getting rabidly anti LGBT planks put into the repub platform. The only thing that ole Mike brings to the table is that he has actually been in government….shitty government that gutted education in Indiana while giving tax cuts to the rich…as all of the repub governors do….but for those supporting Trump, that’s a great thing since they think cutting education only hurts the teacher’s unions that they hate more than anything. The one thing I don’t understand about this whole election is how the Clinton e-mail “scandal” is equivalent to the serial bankruptcies, lies, and hate that come out of Trumps campaign….I fear for this country if the media continues to let all of Trumps transgressions go…geez…
Mike Pence is just the biggest ass in the US….
Well…with all of the chickenshit repub governors, including ours here in Michigan, puffing out their chests and saying they will block any Syrian refugees from settling in their states…we have a new low from the really, really asshole governor of Indiana, Mike Pence, who today said that two Syrian families who have been waiting for three years to come here will not be allowed to settle there. There’s your modern repub christian folks…spout Jesus all the time but when it comes to really following their supposed religion, they are just too damn scared or, even worse, are making a political calculation to leave these families in limbo just to get some votes from their equally scared and equally asholley voters….this crap needs to be stomped on now, it is against the law for Pence to do that…federal immigration law trumps what an asshole from Indiana thinks…states do not have the authority to ban anyone from entering the country…he should be sued or arrested and put in jail…I have had enough of these holier than thou asses who wave the constitution around but then ignore it when it’s not convenient or can’t be used to discriminate against people they don’t like….as you know, I’m an atheist but I know a little about religion and know that there is a special place in hell for people like Pence who do nothing to protect the least of the people…to paraphrase the new testament…I think it goes like this…what you do to them, you do to me…so Pence…you’ve discriminated against Jesus as you’ve discriminated against these poor folks who are yearning to breathe free…what a chickenshit move from a chickenshit person….there is even a better rant on this subject by Hunter over at Dalykos today….breathtaking in outrage…
Mike Pence is still lying…
Well…after ole Mike’s show yesterday at his news conference about his state’s ‘license to discriminate” law…where said repeatedly that the law needed to be ‘fixed” to go forward and garuntee that there would be no discrimination against LGBT people, this idiot goes on fox news and basically says “nevermind” that the law does not need to be fixed and he stands behind the law…repeating the repub talking point that it is not the law but the perception of the law that is the problem…and all he needs is a little propaganda from fox to make everything better…yep, Mike that’s it…it just the perception that the bigots in the state who will use this law to discriminate that is the problem and that Hoosiers will not discrimninate..so, when were you lying, Mike? At the news conference or on Fox? Just ask the O’Connor family who own Memories Pizza in Walkerton…who stated today that they will not serve gay people and said ”it’s not discrimination, it’s just our belief and anyone has the right to believe in anything”…yep no bigots in the Hoosier state….Mike, you are such an idiot and the people that voted for you deserve to lose everything….geez…

Well…just watched the Mike Pence news conference and the only thoughts that came into my head is either lying or stupid…or maybe both, trying to make people believe that he never thought the law would result in discrimination while it’s supporters, who stood behind him when he signed it crowed that discrimination was the purpose of the law. But the striking thing to me is how well he used the repub playbook of victimhood….that Indiana is the target of a “smear” campaign by outside media and the problem is just of “perception” of the law. If you follow the news at all, this is the go to repub tactic whenever they are challenged on this nonsense….it’s not that the law will permit discrimination (it does) but the perception that people have that it will allow discrimination…or that people found out that this law will permit discrimination and they surely wanted to hide it from the general public…just like they lied about right to work here in Michigan and Wisconsin. The “outside media” claim was exploded by the biggest paper in the State…the “Indianapolis Star” having a front page editorial today that called on the Governor to get rid of this hate legislation and ensure equal rights for all people in Indiana…but ole Mike said that rights for everyone is different than this law so they have to be dealt with later….he even said last week that LGBT rights were not on his agenda. So, bottom line…the repubs got caught trying to use the law to discriminate against people they hate…that’s the only takeaway…that they got caught…not that it is wrong to discriminate…what a bunch of asses…geez…

Well…after the idiot governor, Pence, went on the Sunday shows a lied his ass off about the new “license to discriminate” law that he signed, the fallout continues….a major union just pulled their conference out of Indianapolis…Angie’s list just stopped an expansion that they had planned and many states have forbidden their people from any travel for state business to Indiana….and this idiot continues to double down on his lies along with attacking the media for their “sensationalism” in their reporting. Now Mike, ole buddy…it’s not sensationalizing when they truthfully report that you won’t say that this law will lead to discrimination…when you know for a fact that it is the sole purpose of this law…and you were asked pointedly about just that fact and you wouldn’t answer that simple yes or no question. So, citizens of Indiana…it serves you right to have this attention on your state…you elected these asses….geez…

Well…if you haven’t heard…this idiot governor signed into law a “license to discriminate” last week in Indiana and, with the firestorm from across the country about this backward nonsense, ole Mike went on the Sunday shows this morning to try to explain that it wasn’t designed to do that….and had an epic fail on the whole thing…when asked bluntly if the law would allow people to discriminate against gays, this idiot just kept parroting “Hooisers don’t discriminate” ….yeah, right…don’t you read the news, you idiot? Just yesterday, a business owner went on the radio and told some right wing ass that he turned a gay couple away from his restaurant since it was his and he “could do anything he wanted with it”….and would do it again and again now that he is protected by law….this is what you signed, Pence….to all of the bigots that vote for you to be able to shout “religion” and be the jerks that most repubs are….geez…

Well…reading the news today was a little boring until I came upon this little nugget of weirdness out of Indiana…the governor there has decided to create his own “state run media” so that small newspapers there will be able to get the “news” from the government without sending poor reporters to do that job….it’s goal, stated by the governor is to create pre-packaged “news” stories about what’s happening in the government and to break “news” exclusively on this new website/press release machine without having to have all that messy interaction with the media. I wonder if these idiots have ever read history or anything about the constitution and a “free press”? This whole thing seems to be modeled on the Soviet Union’s “state run” media which was basically the propaganda arm of the state…even more so than fox news is for the repubs on a national level. So, they can’t afford to fix their schools, or their roads, of feed their poor, but they have plenty of cash to pay a bunch of “journalists” to create propaganda that will no doubt say how wonderful things are in Indiana and how great the governor is and how terrible the “libruls” are….I cringe at the tone deafness and stupidity of these folks…geez…

Well…back in the runup to the election, one of the predictions that I made was that if the repubs came back to power, you would see the wholesale surrendering of our country to the forces of the “free market” and the religious nuts from the right. And yesterday, in a speech in Detroit, we have one of their presidential frontrunners came out with that exact double whammy; delivered by Mike Pence, the repub from Indiana. In that speech he told the crowd that the big problem in America is the lack of morals in the population and that the only way to solve that is a return to organized religion and more religious involvement in everyday life. Really, Mike? What about those of us that see the folly of organized religion and want the constitutional separation of church and state strengthened? We are tired of you “holier-than-thou” folks telling us that the only way to be a good, ethical, moral person is to belong to organized religion when, to us, religion is the CAUSE of most of the strife in the world.
But, that was not the only thing he felt the need to touch on…he reiterated his opposition to the bailout of the auto industry, along with the Tarp program that helped limit the financial damage in the downturn. His reasoning is that a free market bankruptcy would have been a better way to go…since it would help destroy the unions and turn the US into the low wage economy that his business buddies could then take advantage of…well…I added that last part..this is kind of an editorial after all. Now, you can truly see what these guys are all about….they say we can’t afford extension of UI benefits, or helping American industry survive because it would add to the deficit…but it is just ducky to give the top 1% 700 billion in tax cuts that aren’t paid for…hypocrites all. Geez…
