Well…have been thinking about this one since last night when I heard of the repubs new talking points on why they rejected expanded background checks for gun purchases…but, first, I wanted to talk about the latest bout of hypocrisy…a breathtaking one, at that, that is coming out of the rpubs these days…you have to remember how many of these teabagger idiots voted against aid for the victims of the storm Sandy on the east coast using excuses upon excuses to punish the supposedly “liberal” east coast for whatever crazy-assed fevered reason they had….and now, we have these same teabagger idiots like Ted Cruz immediately asking for federal aid for the people affected by the fertilizer plant explosion and asking that it be done quickly with no offsets or cuts in spending that ole Eric Cantor asked for for the Sandy victims. The worst part here is that these idiots don’t see the irony in their positions and go their merry way using the government to punish those that will never vote for them.
Oh, the nonsense…the latest talking points that are coming out of the repubs on the rejection of background checks is just as breathtakingly stupid as it can be…it goes something like this: Since the background checks wouldn’t catch every person that shouldn’t have a gun, then we shouldn’t pass any law about them…yep, that’s right, if a law is not airtight it shouldn’t be passed…using that logic, there is no reason to pass any law that criminalizes any behavior….since people still murder, there should be no laws that make it illegal, since people still rob banks, there should be no law against it…you get the point…what a bunch of stupid maroons….maybe if we can ridicule these guys for their stupidity, more people will see it and start to vote them out…we can only hope….geez….
Well…it was a really long day yesterday with lunch with T, out with Tom for pool, and then back here for cocktails…so I am feeling a little slow today…didn’t eat enough either, so I will be low on energy for most of the day…I did sleep okay last night but it was just from being so worn out not any long term fix….and I didn’t come back for a second one either but there is one that I need to get to and that will be for later this morning…other than that, not much to do today…it is still too cold to go out on the bike in shorts so I will take the day off from riding and get some cleaning done around here and watch some soccer and races later in the day…more later…
Well…it was a day yesterday and I feel like a frickin mushroom with all of the rain….the top on the Miata leaked for the first time but I’m going to cut it some slack since we got inches of rain…didn’t do much but go out to the tool store and buy a c-clamp and got a free multi meter to test electrical circuits…cheap China stuff but they will do the job for the little I’ll use them…and 4 bucks? Can’t complain about that…the rest of the day was just the normal stuff that I’m sure you’re tired of hearing about. It was a cocktail night so I do feel a little slow today but the coffee should help that….not much to do today…oh, that’s not true…might have lunch with T, then out for pool, then drinks with K, then back here to rest….so it may just be a fun day for a change….more later…
Well…as I was sitting here thinking a little this morning, a thunderbolt hit me…well, maybe some static electricity, not sure, but the idea that crystallized was that you can reduce all repub behavior to one thing: they are just bullies and love bullying people that can’t fight back. They bully gay people by trying to deprive them of their rights, they bully voters by making it harder and harder to vote, they bully 90% of the country when they gloat (I’m talking to you McConnell you dick,), that they have defeated Obama again on sensible gun regulation, they bully all minorities when you have ole Scalia saying voting rights are a “racial entitlement” and they bully the entire country when they ignore the will of the people and vote to reward their corporate owners at every turn. When this popped into my head, I immediately went to what happened here in Michigan when they stole the retirement income of seniors to give to corporate ceos and they just didn’t give a damn that a large majority of the state didn’t want them to do it….they take politics not as a way to better the lives of all people here in the US, but a game to be “won” by being the pricks and bullies that they are…I am tired of this crap and I think the majority of the people (except for other bullies) want it to stop…and I think we can stop it in 2014…I can’t wait…geez…
Well…running late on a weekday and I’m not really sure why…I did have to do the grocery run this morning so that’s what I’ll blame for now…slept really crappy again last night and it is so disappointing since I thought I’d figured it out…oh, well…did talk to my daughter for a quite a while and I am happy it was not a cocktail night…found out that my youngest son and his girlfriend bought a house and that is so cool…glad to see they are moving on an making great lives for themselves…..I am still dripping from the run out for groceries and it was raining so hard at times when I was in Meijers you could barely hear inside the building….that was cool, too…not much to do today…I do need to work out and then make a run to harbor freight to get a c-clamp to change out the brakes next week…from that point, just going to make tacos for lunch and then kind of veg for the aft…..more later…
Well…I am shaking my head on how some of the idiots on the right are still walking around free since they seem so crazy…starting with the out that asked the governor of Mass whether the bombings in Boston were a “false flag” operation staged by the government as a pretense to strip everyone of their civil liberties….yep, not making that up…and then we have ole Louie Gohmert of Texas saying the other day that we should hold up immigration reform since al queda has camps all along the Texas border and are training their operatives to “act like Hispanics” now, I’m not sure what acting like a Hispanic is, and I’m sure ole Louie doesn’t either but it just shows that these guys will use any tragedy to try to further their crazy-assed conspiracy theories…and the strange thing is that no one is calling them out on it….especially since there is absolutely no proof that there are camps along the border or any false flag nonsense either. And, now, as of this morning the repubs are going to shoot down any gun reform…even the watered down, loophole ridden bill that is trying to get through the senate even though 90% of the people in the country want it to happen…what a craven bunch of assholes the repubs are…and this last one shows how bought and paid for they are…keep it up repubs….you’ll be gone in two years….geez….
Well…it was a pretty low key day yesterday with not getting any sleep and then having to make up for it….last night was a little different with taking something for my allergies and sleeping okay…I’ll have to check to see if it has the same ingredients as the OTC sleep aid that I sometime use…all I know is that I wasn’t choking all night and could breathe…other than that, it was an almost all veg day yesterday but I did get the bike ride in in the morning and am going to try to do the same thing today….it looks like it’s supposed to rain in the aft so that’s the only plan….it looks like I’ll have some cash coming in today so that is making me smile a little and there may be hh with T and then out for a couple with G after that so today will be somewhat busy compared to normal…and I will try to come back for another one later….my back seems to be much better over the past week or so and I just noticed it….the pain had been here so long that I had gotten used to it but it is so cool that I can get up and move around without wincing….
Well…have been trying to recover from the lack of sleep last night with just small success but I thought I’d come here to try to get another one out but I’m not sure what to do…politics seem so small after the bombings in Boston yesterday and the comments on the event seem to already be done…I can’t bring anything new to it other than to feel that another piece of me is gone after it…and I know that people are trying to minimize the 3 dead by comparing it to the 50 that were killed in Iraq and the hundreds that were killed on the roads…or even the 20 or so people that were killed by people with guns…but, I think that misses the point to me…to me, every avoidable death is something to be mourned; especially when an 8 year old dies on day that was supposed to be fun and many other were maimed and their lives will never be the same….I just can’t fathom the minds of the killers when they aim for this kind of carnage…who taught them this callousness? Who taught them this idea that their political aims are more important than the lives of these people? Don’t have anything more to add right now….
Well…it was a disappointing day yesterday…was supposed to have some cash coming in that didn’t happen and then sleep last night was a nightmare of tossing, turning, and choking that kept me awake most of the night…must have only gotten about three hours and I will be paying for it all day today….I did get some work done on the car before it started to rain…I don’t think the headlights had ever been cleaned since they were so coated with dirt and grime…and I continued removing the excess wax that is everywhere…finally found a screw to put the sun visor back on…only took two trips to the hardware store…not much to do today…with being really broke today, I just have to hang out here and try to get motivated enough to do something…that is going to be a hard one but what can you do? more later…..
Well…have gotten distracted with it being warm enough to go out on the bike in just a t-shirt today and then it was the car that was calling me…and now, I’m going back to the hardware store to try to find a screw for the sunvisor…but, I will be back for a political one in about an hour…
Okay..decided to not go and look for the screw so I’m back here…I am just laughing about the repubs efforts at “re-branding” themselves in all areas, from womens rights to gay rights, voter suppression…etc. when you have an idiot like one of ours here in Michigan, the former congresscrud Agema who went off about “the gays” on his facebook page using debunked statistics to try to make the point that, and here’s a whopper, that 50% of all murders committed in NYC were done by gays…just so laughably untrue…and he went on and on that gays are like alcoholics, that they have more diseases than the straight population…you get the picture…substitute black or jew for gay in any of his statements and we see how far they haven’t come…but, the worst part is that this piece of crap was not only not disavowed by the repub hierarchy, he was invited to the latest repub platform meetings and had all of his hateful nonsense written into the new party platform….so, the hate goes on but they just need to explain it better and everyone will hate? People like Agema…hell…people like most repubs were never taken seriously when I was a kid….why now? Who know? geez…
