Well…as we all knew when the unqualified right winger Amy Barrett was appointed to the supreme court, she would be a reliable vote for all of the right wing wishlist that has been kept at bay over the past few years…but yesterday, we see the damage that she is going wreak on this country when she joined the other right wing justices to put religious people’s right above everyone else’s in a case in New York where, for public health purposes, the governor put a limit on the number of people who could attend religious service since there maskless services have been the cause of many, many superspreader events that actually killed people. But this supreme court hack basically said that religion is more important than everyone else’s right to live when striking the order down…and we know where this is heading…the only thing you have to scream is religion and you get a free pass to discriminate and hate anyone you want…and you know what’s next? The rights of the LGBTQ community will be gone by spring…since religion trumps everything and if religious people don’t want the icky gays to marry, that’s going to be just peachy with these haters. This is why we need to win both senate seats in Georgia, to put a brake on these assholes who want to drag us back to the 1800′s…this is just the start…

We can impeach her…
Well….I know there has been a lot of consternation with Moscowmitch trying ram Amy Barrett’s nomination through the senate before the election but there is one thing we need to remember if we take back the senate and Joe wins…we can impeach her…it has already been reported that mitch and other senators have been coordinating with her to try to hide her far right wing beliefs and the fact she is not qualified for the SC…but it has already been reported that she may have lied on the forms she submitted to get the appeals court seat where she now sits…and lying on those forms is perjury, which would disqualify her from any court…so, just because moscow mitch can ram her through, it doesn’t mean that she will stay there….once we have the senate, we can do a real investigation into both her and Kavanaugh…who it is clear did lie during his confirmation hearings. Then just impeach and remove them and have Joe appoint two more justices of whom Merrick Garland should be number one….but, they should only be removed if they clearly broke the law…not for innuendo or lies like the repubs use…the rule of law needs to be restored and this would be a great place to start to restore the authority of the court which is in tatters after moscow mitch and his cronies broke every rule to put unqualified political hacks on the court.
Trump really IS going to jail after his term…
Well…with the supreme court ruling this morning that trump does not have the “absolute immunity” that he claimed in legal filings trying to hide his financial records, it really does look like he is going to be indicted as soon as he is out of office. Let’s remember that this case deals with state charges of fraud, money laundering, and other financial crimes that trump can’t be pardoned for and Deutsche Bank has already started the record dump to Cy Vance in NYC and the grand jury that will be delivering the charges in the case. The 7-2 decision wasn’t even close and even trump’s hand picked toadies, Gorsuch and Kavanaugh voted with the majority that trump is not a king and there is no person in the US who is above the law. Now, one thing that the SC did that I find troubling is not ordering the records to be released today but sending the cases back to the district courts for matters of separation of powers questions but that means they are going back to courts that trump has lost in every case so the rulings can’t reverse what the SC has said today. This means that we probably won’t see the records until after the election but the prosecutors and grand juries will, and as I’ve said before, there are going to be many jurisdictions who will be ready to press charges on the day that trump leaves office…and that means the rest of trump’s life is going to be the same hell that he has put the entire country in…oh, and let’s remember one more little thing that happened last week… Deutsche bank paid a 150 million dollar fine for helping Jeffrey Epstein launder money through the bank…want to bet that they were doing the same thing for trump? And that evidence will be included in the records that CY Vance will have today? Idiot boy is well and truly screwed…finally…and he is going to prison…
“I guess the supreme court doesn’t like me”
Well….that statement just about sums up how the idiot trump sees the entire world…whether people like him or not is the only important thing to him, not that DACA recipients can now stay in the US, not that California can declare itself a sanctuary state, not that the second amendment can be restricted just like every other amendment to the constitution, and not that our LGBTQ friends and neighbors have the same rights as the rest of us…all things that trump and his racist cronies argued against that were just ruled by the court…but the takeaway that trump gets from this smackdown is that “the supreme court doesn’t like me”….typical narcissist thinking and revealing that everything is about trump…not the law, not rights of LBGTQ Americans, not the racist bullshit that spews out of trump every day…but it is just about if people like him or not…and shows how frickin needy this asshole is….and lays bare his worldview that everything revolves around him…not the 800,000 DACA recipients who now can breathe a sigh of relief after wondering for months if today is the day that ICE is going to show up and put them on a plane for a country they have never lived in. I am really surprised that the court ruled that trump can’t deport DACA recipients today…I expected that they would side with trump and his racist cronies and allow all of these people to be rounded up and arrested….but trump losing 4 cases this week made me so damn happy…not that trump lost, but that the right decisions were handed down and it made this country better…something that idiot boy can never say…
But wait, there’s more…
Well…with all of the attention given to the miraculous supreme court decision announced yesterday that yes, LGBTQ people here in the US have the same rights as everyone else and can’t be fired or discriminated against for who they are, there were two more cases that were also decided that put the old advertising hook in my head..”but wait, there’s more!” The first one dealt with California passing legislation declaring itself a “sanctuary state” that would not cooperate with the thugs from ICE who were terrorizing the undocumented population there…some with deep roots in the state and most who are contributing members of California society…doing jobs that no one else wants to do at the pay that farm owners want to pay. After the law was passed, trump and his racist cronies sued California for not spending their tax dollars to help them carry out their racist policies of putting children in cages and separating them from their families. Every damn court upheld California’s right to determine how their state will be run and how it’s tax money will be spent…but even after losing in every court, Barr kept up appealing the ruling, thinking that their cronies on the supreme court would certainly allow them to force states to be as racist as they are…but he and the rest of trump’s racist cronies got slapped down when the court told them to go away, that California has the right to control their state. The second case is more about what the court didn’t do…they declined to take 10 cases on gun control that the second amendment nuts had shopped around to right wing trumpist judges who ignored the law to rule in their favor…but after the appeals courts ruled that reasonable restrictions on the second amendment are allowed…as with every other damn amendment, the court declined to take the cases, essentially saying the appeals courts got it right in what they ruled…so now trump is even a bigger loser today than yesterday….he has lost 99% of the cases his crooked justice department under Barr has brought but that won’t stop them for wasting more of the court’s time for the next 6 months….losers all…
some good news from the supreme court…
Well…just a few minutes ago, the supreme court delivered a landmark decision that title VII of the 1964 civil rights act applies to LGBTQ people here in the US….and that means that no one can any longer be fired just for who they are…to say that I am surprised by this ruling is an understatement, and to have both Roberts and Gorsuch join the liberal justices in making sure that all Americans have the same rights and protections under the constitution is so surprising that it has many court watchers stunned given the outright hate that trump and his idiot minions show toward this community every damn day….as I have said for years now, this is exactly the ruling that should have been handed down…how can you uphold the 14th amendment that requires equal treatment under the laws and then carve out some Americans who are just not quite as equal as the rest of us? Do you hear those heads exploding at the WH? This is not the ruling that trump and his cronies paid for when they conspired with McConnell to put Kavanaugh and Gorsuch on the court and I wonder if Both Roberts and Gorsuch see the writing on the wall that trump will be gone in 6 months and they need to start thinking of the rule of law and the damage they have done to it…especially Roberts who is cognizant of his legacy and the damage many rulings from the conservatives have done to it. Whatever the reason, if they made the right ruling even by accident it is a good day here in the US for our LBGTQ friends and family…finally, equal rights means equal rights and I can’t be more surprised they did the right thing…

Well….if you looked at the news over the past week or so, you saw the mighty voter suppression efforts by Wisconsin repubs to try to save a supreme court seat that even involved the US supreme court who dutifully weighed in and handed the repubs the tools they needed to try to steal the seat….and this included making sure that most polling places were closed in dem areas and forcing in person voting instead of the safer vote by mail that the dem governor was championing. But, a funny thing happened….dem voters braved the coronavirus and hours long lines to do their duty and thwarted the bad faith efforts of the repubs to rig the election….and three of Scott Walker’s hand picked judges went down to defeat…most importantly, a true progressive won the 10 year seat on the supreme court, whittling away at the repub majority who have done their best to support making it harder and harder for everyone but repubs to vote. The vote wasn’t even close and pundits are chalking that up to the dem voters being pissed and really, really motivated to make every damn one of the repbus to go away….and this time, even some of the repub base was snared in the voter suppression net and had to endure the long lines just like we always do….maybe it will open their eyes to the fact that their “leaders” are only out for themselves and to retain their power…they don’t give a damn about their voters…these results leave me with a glimmer of hope that there is a landslide coming this fall….maybe we can even take back the government here in Michigan…that would be cool….
Murder and a supreme court seat…
Well….repubs across this country continue to show that they will stop at nothing to steal supreme court seats even if it results in the murder of their people. There is an election today in Wisconsin that the repubs there have been doing everything they can to make sure that the people of Milwaukee (who are predominately African American) don’t get to vote for a dem SC justice candidate since she will win if they can….there are normally 155 polling places in Milwaukee and the repubs in control of the state congress have cut that down to only 5…making up every damn excuse in the book to disenfranchise the people who they know won’t vote for them…and when the dem governor tried to get them to agree to expanded vote by mail for everyone during the pandemic, the repubs said no and took it all the way to the SC where Kavanaugh and Gorsuch delivered what they were installed for…to make sure that the repubs can continue to steal elections. But, during this pandemic, it is even worse because the repubs in Wisconsin are essentially sentencing voters there to choose between voting and death…and the repubs will be responsible for murdering hundreds of their people…but, this doesn’t matter to them at all…the corrupt repub party doesn’t give a damn about anyone but themselves…and they are going to get away with it….
Yow, Kansas!
Well…not sure if you noticed, but the supreme court of Kansas just stunned me and almost everybody else when they ruled that their state constitution protects bodily autonomy..and that means the absolute right of a woman to control her body and terminate her pregnancy. The cool thing about this ruling is that the determined that there are “inalienable rights” that are immune from government intrusion and that self determination and control of ones body is one of those rights…but the ruling didn’t stop there…it determined that all individuals are free to excise personal autonomy and are free to make choices about how to conduct their own lives. One of the parts of this ruling that I find most heartening is that it is not reviewable by the US supreme court and the right wing ideologues who have been installed there by McConnell…so this ruling affirming personal rights can’t be reversed by the legislature, either…so the repub assholes who live for taking away women’s rights to control their own bodies made a huge miscalculation by trying to make them second class citizens in Kansas and the court slapped them down….now, let’s hope that this ruling will be a challenge to the rest of us to do what we can to protect the rights of our sisters, daughters and friends…and of all women by voting the repubs out in 2020…
Again…this is not how it works..
Well…another day, another jaw dropping bit of stupidity by the moron in chief when he opened his mouth and farted this out…that if the dems in the House impeach him, he will go to the supreme court to stop it…and he believes his toadies that were installed there illegally by Mitch McConnell will tell the house that they can’t do it…and one of his reasons is that he already survived the Mueller investigation and that the House has no authority to investigate since he was already investigated. Yeah, the logic of a 7 year old being spouted by the so-called president…damn, do I have to keep pointing out how ignorant this ass is? That is not how any of this works…in precedent that runs almost all the way back to the founding of the country…every damn court including the supreme court has ruled that the courts cannot interfere with the constitutionally mandated powers of investigation and impeachment of the co-equal legislative branch…so, even if stupid boy tries to go there, even Kavanaugh should rule that he has no standing to bring that kind of suit…unless he has had his daily 12 pack and then all bets are off. This is what happens when someone so glaringly ignorant is put in a position of power…he thinks he can make things up as he goes along and the law is what he wants it to be…and, even the repubs have to know they need to do something to stop this idiot from nuking the entire party…impeach….
