Well…I just can’t fathom how breathtakingly stupid and naive the idiot trump is…and he showed how far out of his depth he is over the weekend as the Saudis tortured and murdered the journalist Jamal Khashoggi in their consulate in Turkey…the idiot boy made the whole thing possible while Khashoggi was still alive but being held by saying that the most important thing to him were the “jobs” at defense contractors that would go away if the US were to impose sanctions for the kidnapping…essentially giving the Saudis the green light to do what they wanted to Khashoggi since there would be no penalty for it….and, since Khashoggi was anti trump and trump has, over and over, said that journalists who oppose him should be “weeded out”…the Saudis took it as doing trump a favor by killing Khashoggi…now, idiot boy has sent SoS Mike Pompeo to talk to the Saudis about the killing and the photo ops are just as bad as you can imagine…Pompeo sitting next to the Saudi king laughing and grinning like and idiot while a resident of America was murdered…can you imagine if Hillary had done that? Impeachment for both Hillary and Obama would have happened before they got back to the US…and yet, the repubs in congress keep going along with this farce…and they all have Khasoggi’s blood on their hands, too…impeach…
October 16th
Well…it’s almost 7 so that means I’m about on time today…have been up since before 6 and that is too damn early…oh, well…and I am sore from the ride yesterday…have been creaking around here this morning and if this is what it’s like feeling old, I don’t like it…it was pretty brutal out there yesterday with it being cold, wet, and windy and I just about froze my hands…they hurt like crazy as they were thawing and they still feel like there was some damage done…will get out the heavy gloves for the ride today even though it will look weird…didn’t get out for pool yesterday so I didn’t win or lose but I did get out to my daily deals store for some cheap food….I mean who can pass up honey ham for 1.49 a pound and two pounds of coffee for 3.99? Need to get out to Harbor Freight this morning for some batteries and some gloves that I should have bought long ago to clean the oven…my hands appear to have healed after peeling a couple of layers of skin off from the oven cleaner…they are still really shiny, though so maybe they need a little more time….not much to do today…need to clean some and the normal stuff…and there is some soccer on this aft…finally…so I won’t be too bored…more later….
trump really is a toddler…
Well…not sure if you saw the debacle of an interview that the idiot trump did on “60 Minutes” last night but if you didn’t, wow…just wow. It is now clearer than ever that trump has the mentality and emotional maturity of a toddler…and showed for all to see that he has no grasp of the world or reality….and that should scare the hell out of everybody and drive those of us in the sanity based world to get out to vote in three weeks to make sure there is a check on his insanity….the thing that shocked me the most was his toddler like assertions that…na na na na na…I won the election so whatever I do is okay…I can mock Dr. Ford, I can call people names, and I can ignore all of the norms of this country as I have my whole life because I won…and did I say that I won? Look, when my kids were growing up, they knew more about the world than trump does at about age 5 and they were much more articulate, too…so, we need to get into damage control mode for the next three weeks and still try to take the senate, too…I know it’s not looking good but it can if we just get off our asses and vote, good things can still happen…impeach…
October 15th
Well…slept all the way in til 6 this morning and don’t feel any better for it…I am still sleeping better than I have in a while so I guess that’s something and I shouldn’t bitch too much…had an okay day yesterday but didn’t get anything done but watch races and today will be the same with pool this aft…I did get the top on the car repaired and I can’t wait to see if I guessed right with the rain last night and this morning…as I think back, it dawned on me that it’s been leaking all summer since there was always water on the drivers side every time I put the top up after a top down run…so we’ll see today if I can put the top down on the way out to pool…I did get a nice bike ride in yesterday but I’m not sure about today…there is a lot of rain out there right now but it appears to be moving off pretty fast so I may be able to go out around ten or so….not much to do today….other than pool that is…I could clean some while I wait out the rain but I’m not too motivated so we’ll see…more later..
October 14th
Well…I think I’m running a little late today since I finally didn’t get up at 5:30 and I’m not sure why that is…but, I’ll take it…slept okay last night but still feel a little slow today so I am going to wait for the coffee to work before I do much…other than this…it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t get much done but cook so today will have to be better…but I don’t want to think about that right now…still need to wake up more before I even think about it…I hope the bike ride will be better today after the debacle yesterday…just couldn’t get comfortable and the whole thing was a chore and that’s not normal…but, it’s still too cold to go out in shorts so I am going to wait a while for that and read some news and have some more coffee….looking at the weather, I probably will still need a light thermasuit to go out but that’s okay…it looks like that will be the case all week…more later….
I learned three things today…
Well…it’s been a pretty lazy day today but I did learn three things that may be important but probably aren’t…first, the instant pot is not the best way to cook everything…the turkey breast that I made this morning was not even close to being as good as using the brining/roasting methods I’ve developed over the years…it came out dry and tough when my roasted ones are always moist and tender…second, it’s not a good idea to go out for a bike ride right after having a big lunch….it was such a struggle and I felt lousy through the whole thing and I won’t do that again…and, part of that might have been that the coffee had worn off, too…third, cleaning the oven without using gloves is a really bad idea…the skin on my right hand started flaking off earlier today and it continues now…it may be that I bought heavy duty oven cleaner instead of the normal stuff…whatever it is, I am getting gloves this week…
October 13th
Well…running early again today and I wonder if 5:37 is the new permanent wake up time..I sure hope not but it’s been edging that way for quite a while now…I did sleep okay last night but I am noticing a slide back to the tossing and turning that used to frustrate the hell out of me…and I’m not sure what to do about it…I did get a bike ride in yesterday and froze my fingers so I need to re think the gloves that I am wearing…and I’m not sure when I’ll get out today…going to wait for it to warm up some so that will probably mean after noon…I did figure out how to get the water out of the top yesterday and it was just a matter of putting it down…that after I worked for a day trying to dry it….now I just need to get the thing sealed so it won’t leak anymore…but, it needs to finish drying first…I do have a turkey breast brining to cook in the instant pot today and I think I’ll do that for lunch…going to cook it in the pot and then slather it in butter and roast it in a hot oven to get the skin crispy…I think this will be a test run for t-day but I want a whole turkey for that and I know that won’t fit in the pot…the 7 pound breast I have barely fits….I may just take the day off and just cook and clean around here…and watch races and football…more later….
Murder, and it’s trump’s fault…
Well…if you were ever wondering what the ultimate result would be of trump’s demonizing of the media and calling for them to be beaten or murdered if they wrote things he didn’t like, we saw that in the past day when a reporter that worked for the Washington Post was kidnapped and murdered by the Saudi Arabian government…and trump’s only reaction is that we have an arms deal with them that is more important than a reporter…imagine just for a moment what would have happened if any other president had reacted that way…there would have been congressional hearings and every damn senator from both parties would be sponsoring legislation that would prevent any more arms sales to the murderers…but what did trump say? This: “what about the people who have jobs making these weapons?” Yep, the only thing he cares about is the businesses who make weapons and his cronies that run them…and don’t believe for one minute he gives a damn about any worker…just look at the 40,000 people that are losing their jobs at Ford from the idiot boy’s tariffs. This murder is direct result of trump’s rhetoric about reporters and news organizations and the constant hate that he spews at his “rallies”…and the fact that he talks this way gives all of the autocrats in the world a green light to murder anyone they choose since they know trump is going to give them a pass on it if they can bribe him or his kids with business deals….but, he is still responsible…and the repubs will again do nothing…impeach…
An update….
Well…nothing earth shattering in this update…just sitting here waiting for the temp to come up and the rain shower to stop so I can get on the bike so I thought I’d come here as I have my last cup of coffee for the morning…it did rain last night but the water int he tops is no worse than after I drained some of it yesterday so it appears that the top repairs are almost successful so far…now, I just need to have it dry out so I can finish the repairs…I did go over to Meijers to get the turkey breast but they were out of them…grrr….but, one of the people who work in the meat department subbed another brand so I got a better one for the same price and that was cool…and I just checked and I can brine it in the instant pot pot and don’t have to drag out the huge roaster that I use for whole turkeys…and this one is over 7 pounds and still fits fine in the cooker so I can’t wait to cook it tomorrow…hope it thaws in the brine overnight….more later…
October 12th
Well…up early again today with getting out of bed at 5:40…got a text from T around then but that is not what woke me up…was already doing my final flop of the day to try to sleep some more but knew it wasn’t going to happen so I just gave up and got up…slept okay last night even with flipping all night but I feel a little odd today…think it may be another instance of not eating enough yesterday and that normally happens when I have fish for a meal and overestimate the calorie content…I did find a leak in the top on the car yesterday and spent part of the day figuring out where it came from and trying to do some repairs…will have to wait for a few days for it to dry out to complete them but it is not supposed to rain so that should work out…although it is raining right now…I hope the start of the repairs will keep out any additional water….now that I think of it, I think the leak was there most of the summer but it just didn’t dawn on me…oh, well….I do have an errand to run this morning…Meijers has turkey breast on sale for 99 cents a pound and I need to get one small enough to cook in the instant pot…but that will still be about 6 pounds…need to brine it overnight and I hope that thaws it…and I need to get my Mega tickets for tonight since the jackpot is almost 600 million….not much to do today…I do need to dig out the cold weather clothes for the bike today since the high is only going to be 43…and it was cold and brutal on the bike yesterday…more later….
