Well…have been feeling like crap all day today and I know it’s from a bug this time and not something I’ve done to myself…and, I wanted to get to a short one here to try to not get too far behind this month so I won’t be tempted to do placeholders and other nonsense to get the number for the month…one of the things that I find so simple to understand about modern elections is something that Markos has said over at Kos and it is something that needs to be repeated often….”if we vote, we win…”…with the fact that we progressives far outnumber the righties almost everywhere across this country, and the changing demographics that show that the fastest growing groups will vote progressive (or dem) if you want to say it that way, the only thing we need to to to take this country back from the rich and the idiots on the right is to vote….and to vote every time, in every election from dogcatcher to president…from school boards, to municipalities…we just need to vote to restore sanity to our country…to restore equality and opportunity to our economy and to keep the rich from buying the government…just vote, it’s that simple…geez…

March 8th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday and I finally won at pool after losing for 7 weeks in a row..and I figured out that it was only the second win this year and that is just pathetic…but, I did get to put the top down out and back so that was cool…and, I got a little sunburned from the trip….so, I have my March top down in so now I can relax…other than that, didn’t do much…I think I still have a bug since I was coughing all night last night and feel warm…but, it’s been weeks so what bug does that? Not much to do today…watching soccer right now since they still haven’t shut off the channel that I didn’t get before….so, I think I’ll go back to the couch and watch the second half….more later….

Well…reading about the insane clown posse that is the yearly meeting of conservatives in DC and I have been laughing my head off with some of the ‘facts” that have been tossed around by these idiots…especially by ole Rick Perry and Calgary Cruz….first, ole Rick did a speech today saying that the red states were leading the way in economic growth because of the lack of taxes and regulation…and, if you mean leading the way to the bottom half of all states you would be right…if you look at facts…you know, those things the right doesn’t believe in…you’ll see that every state run by repubs is in the bottom 50% of economic growth with his state one of the worst…and then we have ole Cruz saying by video that we don’t have a president anymore but a dictator since he picks and chooses what laws he is going to enforce and he does things that the congress hasn’t given him permission to do…how wrong is this? As wrong as you can get…first, go back to ole GW and see how many laws he decided to not enforce…can you say torture? And, second, this idiot doesn’t even know how the government works…the executive branch does not have to be given permission by congress to carry out executive branch authority…what the hell is wrong with these ignorant idiots? geez…
March 7th
Well…it was a long, long day yesterday with going out for a few with G in the aft and then back here for cocktails to watch the Wings retire Nick’s number…so, I am going to take it really slow today as I recover…slept okay last night and I have found that I like using the earplugs even without the noise from the furnace upstairs…just sleep better so I think I’ll keep that up…I did get the car washed yesterday but it looks like I’ll have to keep washing it for a few weeks just to get the salt off it and get ready to put the summer tires back on it…but, that will be a couple of weeks since next week is back in the 20′s again…not much to do today…I am going to take it easy until I find out if we are doing pool and I do need to eat more since I only had a burger yesterday for the whole day….more later…

Well…with all of the pundits going with the conventional wisdom that Hillary is going to be the nominee for 2016 from the left, a small bombshell was dropped yesterday when one of my favorite senators, Bernie Sanders, said that he is thinking of running for president and I almost jumped out of my chair and cheered…if you don’t know Bernie, he is registered an independent but caucuses with the dems, but is the old throwback type of politician who is honest, and does not care who he pisses off be it the right, wall street, or even the cowardly dems who won’t stand up for the people who elected them…the biggest champion of the middle class going, along with Elizabeth Warren and someone who I could easily vote for and support…this man calls out the idiots and the afraid in congress to try to forge a new day for the middle class and is not afraid of taking on the money in this country…now, we just need to get Liz to run with him and we on the left would have our dream ticket….run, Bernie, run….
March 6th
Well…it was an okay day yesterday but I have been up since 5 so that sets up a low energy day today…and I have lots to do so it will be interesting to see how that works out…being up since 5 means I didn’t sleep okay…so the net is about 4 hours of sleep….but, I don’t feel too bad so maybe that’s okay….I did get a few things done around here yesterday but nothing of real importance…today looks much busier with doing the grocery run, getting fitted for the tux, washing the car, cooking, and then out for a couple with G later….and, today is the day they retire Nick Lidstrom’s number so I do need to see that before the Wing’s game….but, right now I think I’ll get some water and head back to the couch for a few minutes…..I am early, after all….and I will come back for at least one more of these since there is just so much stupidity coming from the right that I just have to comment…more later…
Diplomacy works…again…
Well…I am kind of laughing at the fits that right has been throwing over the Ukraine unrest calling Obama weak and howling for some show of military force to try to intimidate Putin into leaving Ukraine alone and not invading….and the comparisons of Obama to Putin…that Putin is a strong leader since he will not hesitate to use military force…and that Obama looks weak since he prefers to use all of the diplomatic tools in the toolbox first; leaving military action as a last resort (which, by the way, has been US foreign policy since the country was founded)… yadda, yadda. With the events of the past few days, and the fact that Putin has called his troops back to their bases defusing the situation somewhat in response to diplomatic pressure, we see that the right is wrong…again..or should I say as always? Diplomacy done right works in most cases…some thing that the chickenhawks on the right just don’t want to hear….where is the profit for their buddies if there is no more war? What I want to see now is Palin, Graham, and the rest of these idiots to apologize for their attempted undermining of our foreign policy for political reasons…and to admit that they don’t know what the hell they are talking about…but, facts don’t matter to the right so I guess I shouldn’t hold my breath…geez….
March 5th
Well….it was an okay day yesterday but I didn’t accomplish much…I did take the car over to wash it but it was too cold so it just froze into a huge block of ice and I didn’t really get it clean…so, I’ll probably have to do it again tomorrow…slept okay last night and had weird school dreams again and that is really strange since I am so old…feel okay today with being good last night and that will continue all week…I am still just depressed that there is no warm up in sight…it is supposed to be in the 50′s by now and I want to get the summer tires back on the car so I can get one more winter out of the winter ones….not much to do today…might meet up with G for one in the aft but that is about it…more later…
Isn’t this treasonous?
Well…as the Ukraine crisis unfolds, a thought has been rattling around in my head in regards to the constant right wing criticism of the president…isn’t it treasonous to try to undermine the president in time of crisis for purely political reasons? I think that this can be construed as giving aide and comfort to the enemy and making Putin’s position stronger by making the president look weak (not that he is weak)…what happened to the idea that was followed forever until these crazy-assed righties got to power that politics stopped at the waters edge? It just shows you that today’s right has no ideas in foreign policy that should even be listened to…their one and only idea is to use the military to attack no matter what the crisis…a one size fits all solution that fits the less than bright lights on the right…geez….
March 4th
Well…it was a nice, fun day yesterday with a road trip with T out to GH and lots of laughs and good conversation…and the snow piles out there are 30 feet tall…did get a photo of the Miata parked next to one and it is just funny…and, I found out that the car is a little too cramped with the top up, two people, a cooler, and warm clothes….will have to work on the logistics of it for the next one…..slept okay last night and I think some of it is from all of the traveling….and the walk out on the ice…can’t remember there not being any water visible….not much to do today…I do have some things to do around here but most of the day is going to be recovery from the busy day yesterday since I am still not over that damn bug I’ve had for the past month…more later…
