Well…not sure if you’ve been following the Ukraine invasion closely or at all, I have an I can’t figure out what the Germans are thinking…over the past week or so there has been conflict with them about supplying German made Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine to give them the advantage in armor since most of the tanks they have are old soviet designs from the 50′s and 60′s and the Leopard 2 is Germany’s most advanced tank… and Germany itself won’t have to give up one since this tank is used by almost all of the NATO countries and all of them have volunteered to send them to Ukraine…but, since the tanks are a German design, the Germans have the say where they can be deployed and they are dragging their feet…and they have said that they won’t approve that use until the US sends M1A1 Abrams tanks…but that doesn’t make any sense since only the US knows how to operate and repair the M1 while the Leopards can be repaired and Ukrainians can be trained right next door in Poland…so, I think we should call their bluff and take some of the hundreds of Abrams that are stored in Germany and send them to Ukraine for use as non mobile artillery pieces since the drive is the least reliable part of them and the most complex to keep running since it uses a jet engine to move it…it would just take too much time to get the logistics and training for the Abrams for them to be useful in less than a year and Ukraine needs armor now…so get off your butt Germany and release the Leopards…geez…

Trump has brought the world together…against us…
Well….the world’s assessment is in and it ain’t pretty…leaders in Germany call trump a “pathological liar” while Great Britain refuses to let him address parliament citing his “lying and racism”….and now Germany has basically abandoned any plans to work with the US for the next four years since they know it would be frustrating dealing with trump at the very least and even dangerous to Germany and Europe. So, where does that leave us? The blustering idiot has left the US isolated from it’s position of leadership in the world and has even spurred on Germany to begin shaping a world where the US has no say…working with the rest of Europe and with countries in Africa to fill the vacuum that the idiot trump has made by just being trump…and now with abandoning of trade agreements that trump says he will “re-negotiate”, the power vacuum that those actions have left elevates China to the leadership of trade in Asia and destroys any power that Obama worked so hard to build. Not bad for two frickin weeks of that idiot in charge….we are now the laughingstock of the world for “electing” this ignorant racist, facist to the presidency…and we are all going to pay for it….every damn time a repub gets elected, we dems have to come in and clean up after them…and I am getting damn tired of it….
The Germans are hypocrites….
Well…I know that economics are not a topic that most people will voluntarily read but there is an interesting thing going on in
Europe with the Greek debt “crisis”….and it is the hypocrisy that the Germans are showing in regard to Greece’s debt… as we all know now, austerity does not grow economies and usually hurts them worse when they are in a recession, but that is exactly what the Germans want for Greece…more austerity so they can pay back their debt…but to see the hypocrisy of this action, you only need to look at what happened to Germany in the 50′s, when they were swimming in debt. At that time, economists actually used facts to set policy….not ideology as is being done now. Back then, economists looked at the debt situation that faced Germany and realized that they would destroy their economy if they would have to pay back their massive debt they incurred rebuilding the country…so what did the world do? They basically wiped out the debt that Germany owed and allowed them to become the economic power they are today….so what would be wrong with doing the same thing for Greece? Many, many countries have had their debt forgiven across the years and not one time did it cause a meltdown in the world economy…in fact there was usually some benefits in the removal of the constant crisis and restoration of confidence in the future. That’s what should be done with Greece right now…wipe out their debt and give them a chance to get back to normalcy….geez…
Stupidity alert!
Well…was just getting the rest of my online papers read and ran across this huge piece of stupidity from Fox news….if you pay any attention to the right, and not just for laughs, you know that they hold any form of energy that doesn’t come out of the ground with utter contempt…trotting out the failure of Solyndra whenever anyone talks about solar energy. Yesterday, though, in looking for ways to denigrate the solar industry here, they held Germany up as the only success in the world and for a really startling and really stupid reason….Germany has more sunny days than anywhere in the world! Yep, they actually had a “scientist” come on and say that….and say that California only has a few sunny days a year so solar can never work in the US. The problem is that this “scientist” was just plain wrong…wrong, wrong, wrong….when you actually look at the data (yeah, I know, the right doesn’t believe in facts or data) every state in the US has more sunny days than Germany….well…it’s tied with Alaska but that doesn’t change the fact that Fox is at the top of the stupidity scale once again…..and they completely ignore the fact that the subsidies that the Germans have given their industry is many, many times more that that given to get the industry moving here….what a bunch of maroons…geez…
