Well…ole turdblossom strikes again and makes me wonder why anyone still listens to this idiot. If you remember old Karl calling Ohio for Mitt when everyone else, even fox news, had called the state for Obama….now this abject idiot comes out yesterday and questions if Hillary is qualified to be president since she has “brain damage” and was in the hospital for 30 days last year….first, it was four days and second, the “brain damage’ was a slight concussion she got from bumping her head when she fainted from dehydration….even for the right who have hated the Clintons since Bill was elected, this is way, way out there…making up lies about someone’s health to get the buzz started that maybe she is too old and unhealthy to be elected if she runs…I think they have been watching “Doctor Who” too much since this is exactly what the doctor did to the British prime minister who just killed a spaceship of retreating aliens…but he did it with just 6 words…”don’t you think she looks tired?” Crawl back in your hole Karl…geez…

Just another one…
Well…have been thinking all day trying to get some ideas and they just aren’t coming…I did laugh about ole Eric Cantor’s great policy speech yesterday…and the fact that it is just more of the same shows that the repubs have run out of ideas…at least ones that anyone wants to hear anymore…and then you have ole Karl Rove out there raising money again…not sure what for other than to line his own pockets since this great political brain has only won one election for the people he has supported…and that was ole GW’s second term that was won with the smallest margin in history…I do find it heartening that someone in congress is starting to question this whole killing everyone that the president thinks should be killed with drones…this needs to be stopped or at least have some congressional oversight….hmmmm..what else? I am sitting here waiting for the snowmageddon that all of the news outlets are screaming about…possibility of 8-12 inches of snow over the next day so I do need to go out for supplies in the morning…okay…met the quota for the day so I’m not going to bore you any more…
Paybacks and other things…
Well…not sure if there is anything that would be a big topic for the day so I think I’ll do some small ones and see what happens…I found the surveys that have been done on the aftermath of the Papa John’s healthcare debacle quite interesting…in addition to the huge sales drop they have seen, the public’s attitude towards PJ’s and the idiot owner have crashed and burned, too…and the promotion that they have now to give away 2 million free pizzas, assuming a 3 dollar cost per pizza, would be enough to provide health insurance for everyone that works there…you can see the priority that this moron has…and it is sad since his underpaid workers are who has made the company all the money over the years…the second thing I found funny was that Fox news has put the use of ole Karl Rove and Dick Morris on hold since they have proven that they are not the geniuses that they promote themselves as being…now, if we could get the same standard applied to the rest of the talking idiots over there we might be getting somewhere….hmmm…what else? Not much right now…but I may come back for more later…I did have one I wanted to talk about but I forgot what it was…
Oh…just found out that Dave Brubeck died….ever since the first time I heard “Take Five” I’ve felt that it was what jazz should be…I think I’ll go out and find a copy on the web…l
The 339 million dollar man…
Well…I am still grinning about the election and the incredulity on the right that they couldn’t beat the socialist Kenyan….but, the funniest thing that I take away from this one is the utter and abject failure of one of the “brains” on the right, Karl Rove, who had everything wrong and even when the election was called, he stayed in his delusional bubble just knowing that his information was correct and the rest of the world was wrong…that was a really cool thing to see. His failures as a political savant or even a mediocre politician was really driven home when not one of the candidates or initiatives that he spent 339 million dollars of other peoples money on won…that’s right…339 million dollars of spending and not even a box of donuts to show for it…and his explanations or justifications are that the race wouldn’t have been as close as they were without the money he spent. Yeah…I think that will go over quite well with billionaires that believed ole Karl when he said “just give me enough money and we can’t lose”….these people continue to live in the bubble of the right wing echo chamber and truly believe that they are entitled to the presidency or anything else they want just because they are rich…well..too bad…they have taken everything else and they even tried to take our votes but the people are starting to wake up to this thievery and have said no…it’s about time…
If Karl Rove is offended, they must have done something right…
Well…I missed the big Clint Eastwood ad during the super bowl yesterday but I had heard that it was something special so I just went out and watched it…and a big part of the reason was that Karl Rove was offended by it saying that the phrase “it’s halftime in America and it’s time to play the second half” is just a thinly veiled endorsement of a second Obama term. Karl, any time you are offended by anything just tells me that who is speaking is on the right track…why would anyone care what ole Karl thinks anyway? This is the guy who brought us the nastiest, small politics in American history and planned and abetted the outing of Valerie Plame which put many of our CIA people at risk just to cover up the lies about African uranium that the bushies pushed to get us into war in Iraq. My take on the ad was this: that America has fought through the problems of the past few years and has stayed in the game…has gotten to the second half of the biggest game in our lives and now can build on what we did in the first and keep fighting to win…Karl…you ignored the fact that this was an ad that ran at halftime of a football game…what a more appropriate place for the metaphor that was used? I applaud Chrysler for trying to strengthen the American value that we are all in this together and we can win if we keep working together…something that ole Karl or the rest of the repubs will never understand…geez…
Like a monkey with a loaded pistol…
Well…finally getting to the topic of the influx of “silent” money that has come as a result of the Citizens United decision by the Supreme court. Doesn’t anyone see a problem or conflict of interest when a Republican organization brings a suit to the right-wing supreme Court and then gets a ruling that allows republican leaning business to donate as much money to the repubs as they want without any disclosure whatsoever? If you don’t think this as a concerted plan to aid their business buddies, you just have to look at the efforts of the Repubs in congress to filibuster the bill that would have made the small requirement that these funds report where the money was coming from. When I was growing up, these “donations” were called slush funds and more than one politician was booted out of office for running one…and doesn’t it seem to you that this money comes with a quid pro quo that will buy these donating corporations favorable legislation that will again squash the hopes and dreams of the regular folks? It’s something the I have championed for the time I’ve been writing this thing… that government is supposed to be the referee between big business and the people…government is supposed to be the protector of the middle class against this unlimited money and influence…can any of you give 10 million dollars to get your pet legislation through the congress that will give you tax free income in perpetuity? Didn’t think so…but the repubs are intent on rigging the game since they can’t win fair and square; with ideas that will make this country greater, that will grow the middle class, that will allow the normal folks like you and me to at least have a chance…but you know the repubs don’t want you to have a chance…the only thing they know is to steal more and more of this country for their rich buddies. Is this your vision of America? Nope, not mine either.
Now…to get to the title…our old buddy, Karl Rove is at the center of all of this slush money…his “fund” has almost 50 million dollars in it (from his business buddies from the Bushie years) that he is going to use to defeat Democrats in the November elections. Does anyone other than me think this is a bad idea? This is the criminal who was behind the outing of Valarie Plame, the firings of federal attorneys who wouldn’t pursue his political vendettas, and the big one, the selling of the Iraq war on the blatantly false assumption that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. When I heard about his founding his slush fund, the first thing that came to mind was it was like giving a monkey a loaded pistol….there’s no predicting the damage that will be done, and I’d rather give the 50 mil to a monkey than Karl….geez…
Why are they rooting for the US to fail?
Well…a thought came to me this morning when I was at the coffee shop reading the newspapers. That’s not the only place thoughts come to me but it seems that way sometimes…and it was not really a thought but a question. Why are everyone on the right rooting for the US economy to fail? Whenever more bad news is reported, the commentators that call themselves patriots on the right gleefully gloat that it’s all Obama’s fault and that nothing he has or will do will have any effect. This has been true for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, too, and I wonder why no one on the left is calling them on this ghoulish behavior.
I know why they are doing it, it’s just more of the scorched earth policy that the right has used since the early 90′s; led by the same guys, our old buddies Newt and Karl. When are we going to start recognizing that these two are responsible for most of the rancor that passes for politics these days? But it doesn’t have to be that way…we can change it if we just stop listening.
Karl Rove is at it again….
Well…I hope you’ve heard of this last outrage from Karl Rove…he has a company that is going to funnel corporate money into repub campaigns with the express purpose of making sure that the companies have a hand in writing any new regulations that they will be subject to. Doesn’t anyone remember what happened the last time that Rove was involved in anything? And does no one remember what happened when Cheney wrote our energy policy behind closed doors with the only input being from those that were being regulated? Can you say Gulf oil spill and the meltdown of the financial markets due to deregulation? Well…these guys are promising more of the same; more running of the economy into the ground to benefit only the rich and the sad thing is that their voters, who were hurt the most by these shenanigans, are going to fall in line and buy into the propaganda that will be used to sell it as good for them and the economy….geez…
