Well…you know, I really hate these lawless assholes who keep getting away with trying to extort members of congress or who fund trump’s cronies legal bills for refusing to cooperate with the January 6th committee. Just the other day, ole Newt Gingrich was all over fox news threatening that if the repubs take the house this fall, everyone on the January 6th committee is going to be arrested and put in jail for nothing I guess…and ole Newt wouldn’t say what laws they are breaking…which they aren’t breaking any….but all damn repubs think they should be able to try to overthrow the government without any consequences and they are mad that the January 6th committee is going to expose their plot and the thousands of repubs who were involved in it….shouldn’t threats like these that could be interfering with house members doing their sworn duties be illegal? In fact they are, and I wonder why ole Newt hasn’t been arrested yet. One thing we have to remember anytime that old Newt opens his mouth is that he was thrown out of congress for ethics violations and had to pay a huge fine for it…and he divorced one of his wives when she was undergoing cancer treatment to marry the woman he was having an affair with. I really think that the justice department needs to stomp on this crap and do it now to stop others from trying what trump did. Oh, and the other thing that came up today is that some asshole repub operator named Matt Sclapp has started a legal fund that’s sole purpose is to foot the legal bills of trump’s cronies who decided to not cooperate with the January 6th committee…and the first thing that came into my head is that they are funding obstruction of justice and obstruction of congress and I do hope that the committee follows the money back to this ass and hauls him in for questions about how many people he is funding to try to keep the truth about January 6th from coming out….this is the modern repub party folks…lawbreakers all…geez…

Keep a cell open for Newt and Rudy….
Well….with the idiot trump and his cronies freaking out about Comey’s testimony tomorrow, another voice is weighing in to try to obstruct the testimony and discredit it before it happens. A super pac that is run by Rudy Giuliani and Newt Gingrich is running ads both online and on radio and tv attacking Comey and and his personality…along with his trustworthiness….now, to me, this is witness tampering at it’s worse…using character assassination to try to obstruct the investigation into trump and his obvious collusion with Russia before and during the election….this kind of thing has never happened in the US before and if it was done in any trial in any court across this country, these two idiots would be hauled before the court and charged….if our system still works, these two should be in court explaining themselves tomorrow…impeach…
Just a few short thoughts..
Well….haven’t really done any political stuff since the repub primary in SC so I think I should at least do a couple of words…does anyone else find it ironic that in a values voter state, that ole Newt could win it? And, run as a Washington outsider when his entire adult life has been consumed with politics and has been fed by the public trough? The repubs must really hate ole Mitt to give this unethical, unprincipled idiot their votes….what else….hmmmm….oh, another funny thing happened this morning when Rand Paul was detained by the TSA for refusing a full body patdown when he was flying….I don’t agree with anything this rightie has to say but I can support his saying enough…okay…going to end here for now but will be back later…
Irony is lost on ole Newt…
Well…You know I didn’t watch the repub debate last night, but I did read about it in the papers this morning and one of the things that I saw as the ultimate irony has to do with the outrage that ole Newt showed to Jon King when asked about his affairs. As you know, I don’t think that much of a candidates personal life should be part of the political process, but, when a politician has the track record that Newt has, it should be fair game because it goes to his character. If you remember, ole Newt was one of the repubs that was leading the impeachment charge in Clinton’s Monica Lewinsky affair, and in comparison, what ole Newt did in his life is so much worse with his serial affairs and general callousness toward the wives he was cheating on. I think this shows that Newt lacks any sliver of empathy that I feel a politician needs to be able to understand the rest of the people in the country…geez….
Maybe the Republicans are getting some sense….
Well…there is not much going on with politics but the Iowa nonsense with the repubs but I can’t believe that there is so much time and attention being expended on this weird, throwback of a process. When you do the math, the whole caucus there and all of the votes amount to less than one-half of one percent of the total electorate in the US and the winner comes out thinking that he or she is presidential material and has earned a mandate to continue. But that is not what this is about…this is supposed to be about the repubs getting some sense and abandoning the idiot Newt for the nonsense he has been spouting…now, ole Newt may be right at home in a Dickens novel, but he is certainly not presidential material and it looks like even the hard right that controls the elections in Iowa has wised up to that fact. Well…maybe I’m wrong that they’ve gotten smarter…since they have pushed Rick Santorum to second place in the polls and have even kept Ron Paul in the running…this could be fun to watch if you like slow-motion crashes….I know, not too lucid but I’m really trying so bear with me a while…if I don’t get better then abandon me…
Okay, might be cheating here…
Well….had a nice morning and prime rib for lunch and I thought I’d come back for a couple of minutes and just noodle around a bit….it’s been kind of a trying week or so and I’m not sure why…have been really tired lately and it is showing up in dead legs on the bike…oh, well…there hasn’t been any trail weirdness to report or any dreams either, and I am getting kind of concerned with that…something is out of whack and I’m not sure how to fix it…so I won’t think about it for now…
Oh, there is one thing in politics that I find funny…what is the state of the republican party when even George Will is going after other republicans? In his column yesterday..or today, I’m not sure…ole George went after Newt for his crazy assed attacks on the judicial branch of the government….something that I commented on a few days ago and, even though it’s very seldom that I agree with or even read one of George’s columns, it was good to see some sanity from the right for a change. But, I would prefer that they stay as crazy as they are….because then the only constituency they will have left will be the tinfoil-hat crowd….
More nonsense from ole Newt…
Well…I don’t know if ole Newt is just an idiot but there are so many recent statements that I am heading toward that direction with his attack on the courts one the weekend talk shows last weekend. In case you haven’t heard, ole Newt said he would abolish federal courts that rule differently than he thinks they should and even send federal marshals to arrest judges to make sure they appear before congress if requested to explain a ruling that the party currently in control of congress did not agree with. This nonsense is so breathtaking in it’s ignorance of the constitution and the separation of powers doctrine that has been the foundation of our justice system that it just shows the true contempt that the repubs have for America and our laws and traditions. I just can’t believe that any of these idiots that are running for the repubs can compete with Obama…
Nolan, Nolan, Nolan….
Well…if you had any doubt that the attacks from the right on the middle class and poor are a coordinated message, let’s look at the latest nonsense from ole Nolan Finley in today’s Detroit News…yeah, I know, like shooting fish in a barrel but hey, I need and easy one once in a while and ole Nolan has obliged today. His screed in today’s paper center on this contention that people on unemployment don’t work hard enough looking for a job so they should be forced to “volunteer” their time to do various jobs that are now being done by unionized labor…can you see a theme here? Just reference ole Newt’s comments that we should eliminate unionized janitor’s jobs and have poor kids do them. So, Nolan, it’s not stressful enough to be unemployed in this market, now you want to take time away from the job searches that people need to perform to get new jobs and lock them into the declining spiral of minimum wage “volunteer” jobs until they lose their houses, cars and and hope for retirement? I just hope you lose your job at some point, you hack, and then we’ll find a volunteer job for you cleaning sewers since you seem quite familiar with them….geez….
Where are the jobs governor Snyder? Where is the jobs plan republicans?…still not one jobs bill in over a year of your control of the House….
Newt’s “ideas”….
Well…this one is going to be a place holder until I get my workout in and then decide whether or not to ride the bike…the topic is going to be Newt’s “ideas” and the premise that all ideas are good ones…quantity does not equal quality…
Okay, this one formed in my head quickly and then dissipated just as quickly…so I may have to change topics later today…or I may just add to this one…one thing I did want to talk about was the whole idea of getting rid of jobs that adults need to feed their families (think unionized janitors) and have those jobs given to poor kids to “help them learn how to work”…and one of the things I see wrong with this crazy proposal is the fact that it has been republican policies that have turned the entry level jobs that kids used to do to get acclimated to the workforce into dead end jobs for adults while their cronies in business have shipped the good jobs overseas. So, now he proposes to take another, supposedly stable set of jobs and make them so they won’t pay enough to live on, turning them into fast food-like jobs? Newt, take your crazy ideas an go back to your lobbying and sucking money out of the economy…and I want everyone to remember this: that Newt paid the largest fine in the history of congress to settle ethics violations and that is why he “retired” from the House…just ahead of expulsion. Geez…
The state of the republican party…
Well…lots of stuff going on in the repub primary races and, to me, points out a lot of the hypocrisy that is rampant in today’s repub party. The front runners in the party of “family values” are either serial cheaters and liars (see Newt Gingrich) or they are serial sexual harassers ( see Herman Cain) of they are serial flip floppers (see Mitt Romney) who will do or say anything to garner votes; no mater that what they say today is 180 degrees the opposite of what they’ve said in the past. Let’s try to remember why ole Newt isn’t in congress anymore…the fact that his ethics violations were catching up to him and there were severe sanctions on the horizon…but the worst of it is that he is the embodiment of what is wrong with the revolving door politics that runs between congress and K street. where even a disgraced legislator can continue to slop at the trough and make millions and millions of dollars shilling for the companies that elected them. What happened to the republican party that had principles? We can see that principles don’t matter to them anymore, just power and influence and money….geez…
Okay, one last thing…now, I’ll trash the dems in the senate, too, for their misguided bill that would allow the indefinite detention without trial or other recourse to terrorism suspects on US soil….now I think these folks have never read the 4th amendment to the constitution or they would know that this bill would be overturned by the supreme court…so, shame on you dems, for this piece of political nonsense…our court system is plenty robust to take care of these folks through normal channels…
