Well…hey, think back to last year when the idiot trump and his repub cronies were touting their tax cuts for the rich and corporations and that they just knew that giving away trillions of our dollars would “jumpstart” job growth here in the US…ha, ha, trumpsters…especially you in Ohio that still love the idiot boy…GM just announced that they are laying off almost 15,000 factory workers across the US and closing 5 assembly plants…and guess where one of those plants is? Yep, Lordstown, Ohio…where 1600 Ohioans are going to lose their jobs. Now, you know I hate it when anyone loses their job, but these folks voted for exactly that when they voted for trump and the repubs…and the tax law that has little noticed incentives for US companies to move jobs out of the US and had nothing in it that required companies to keep jobs in the US in return for the tax cut. Tired of all the winning yet trump voters? GM walked off with billions of dollars in tax giveaways paid for by you and me and this is how they respond…by continuing the repub driven war on workers here in the US…and the workers who voted for trump and the repubs have no one to blame but themselves…geez…

Trillion dollar deficits…
Well…who would have thought that cutting taxes for the rich and corporations and increasing spending would lead to trillion dollar deficits for as far as the eye can see? Just every frickin economist that is not a right wing shill. With the CBO report that is coming out later today (and that was previewed over the weekend), deficits for the federal government are projected to be at least a trillion dollars a year…but the report states that this is the most optimistic reading, that the deficits could be twice that and will continue for at least the next ten years if nothing changes. Do you remember when the biggest threat to the economy were the deficits during the Obama years? Yep, just another bit of hypocrisy from the repubs and shows you it was never really about the deficits then…it was about trying to hurt Obama and trying to keep him from being successful. One other thing that you need to remember, that SS and Medicare have nothing to do with these exploding deficits…they are completely separate accounts and SS and Medicare have been paid for by you and me…remember that whenever the repubs say that these programs are “in crisis”….they are not and won’t be for at least 30 years…and that can be fixed with just one change…by making all income subject to SS taxes….and that’s what we’ll do when we take back the house and senate…
Less than 6%….
Well… we all know (at least those of us in the fact based community) that the repub “middle class tax cut” was a scam since the start…it was always driven by the need of the repubs to reward their big donors and to keep them from turning off the money taps that keep these idiots getting elected….and now the facts are in, that less than 6% of the business cuts went to workers…and the lies told by the repubs to get them passed are now objectively lies. You remember them don’t you? That the tax cuts would raise wages for workers, that the tax cuts would spur investment that would mean more jobs? that the tax cuts were targeted at workers and they would get a huge windfall? None of it is happening (are you surprised?) and, with the latest analysis, the only people who are benefiting are, of course, the 1%. Now, there are slivers of hope that the media is finally starting to do some actual, factual reporting on this issue but I still want to hear them ask idiot boy Ryan why he lied about who the beneficiaries were going to be of this budget busting monstrosity…and then do some damn follow up questions to hold his feet to the fire….geez…
The results are in…
Well….I thought about doing one of these on the fake “memo” that the right is screaming about but, I don’t want to…so, I’ll talk about the tax cut scam again since some of the results are in. As you know, this scam was pushed by the repubs as being a “middle class” tax cut that would make the sun shine and would shower the MC with money…yeah, you know where this is going…as the results come in there is huge cherry picking going on in the reporting even from the “mainstream” media….centering on the “bonuses” that a few companies are dribbling out to their employees but not talking at all about how much excess profit the companies are getting at the same time. One of the biggest selling points of this scam was the same old “trickle down” bullshit they have been using since the 80′s…that if you shower money on the rich and corporations, that money will end up in the pockets of workers, something that every frickin study has shown just does not happen…and this new tax cut scam reinforces those studies if you look at the numbers. So far, less than two percent of the tax benefits that are going to the already rich has “trickled down” to workers…and most of that is in the form of one time bonuses, not wage increases that would have a lasting impact and that workers could count on every year…giving corporations one more hammer to hold over the heads of their workers. This is all crap and the repubs know it…but they had to deliver to their donors after the donors threatened to turn off the money tap if they didn’t get the payoff they paid for…impeach them all….
