Well…as you know I’ve been really wrapped up in the election stuff over the past few months and that has dominated my postings here and I am starting to feel that toxicity in my life so today I am going to change it up and go back to one of my favorite topics, trail weirdness, since it really was weird on the trail today. I have been feeling a little under the weather for the past week and have taken it easy on the bike..but, today, I am feeling a little better so I decided to get some sprints in and a really strange thing happened…almost 30 squirrels and chipmunks must have run out in front of me like they were on a kamikaze mission, just missing the front tire as they did…but, one of the chipmunks was not so lucky…I caught him by the tail and he flipped about a foot in the air in a really cool looking back somersault….as he flipped, he kept running so when he hit the ground he just shot off into the woods and disappeared…one of the neatest things I’ve seen in a while. Then, as I was leaving my last water stop at the park, I was just crawling along enjoying the colors when a swarm of 25 or so orange and black butterflies swooped in and flew around me for about 50 feet; circling me like they were trying to figure out what the heck I was….after about 15 seconds, they just exploded away from me and into the air…looking like something you’d see in a Disney animated film….days like this really do make me smile…

September 26th
Well…it was another regular, boring day yesterday and I felt like crap all day with no energy…even skipped playing pool I was so tired…I’m sure this one is a bug but the 2 hours of sleep didn’t help at all…not much better sleep last night so I guess I’ll have to live with it for a while…sitting here and feeling about the same right now and I want to go back to the couch and get ready to muster the energy to do the grocery run this morning and then the normal stuff…so, I think I’ll do that and come back later for more of this…

Well…just a short one to remind people why ole Mitt is not going to reveal more detail from his economic plan…he doesn’t need to, just look back at ole GW’s plan and you will see everything that ole Mitt has to offer…tax cuts for the rich, exploding deficits, and much more income equality….let’s repeat that…tax cuts for the rich, exploding deficits, and more income equality…I should repeat it again but you get the point…geez….

Well…I am finding it to be fun to watch the slow motion destruction of the Romney campaign and they just keep sticking their feet in it…today, we had ole Paul Ryan in Ohio trying to win over undecided voters with the old canard that being against gay marriage is a “universal value” that everyone in the country believes and that’s why he supports legislation against it…I wonder if old Paul understands the word universal? The gist of it is that universal means that everyone understands it in the same way…but the polls here in the states show that more than 50% of the people are okay with gay marriage…I guess he means that among his troglodyte followers it is a universal value but for people who think that equal rights mean equal rights it is not universal by any stretch of the imagination. Keep it up Paul, every time you open your mouth Obama gets farther in the lead…
September 25th
Well…it was a long day with the bike ride into a 25 mile an hour wind and I am sore today…didn’t sleep for crap again last night so I think I’ll stop the melatonin that I have been trying…there were dreams but no ones that I liked so I won’t relay them here…I still have that damn lung crap going on and no energy so today is going to be a rest day unless something drastic happens to make me feel better…and today the sneezing has gotten really bad which is even more tiring…I did get the oil changed in the car yesterday and I am curious to see if it helps the oil flow to the lash adjusters and makes the tapping noise go away…we’ll see…more later…
No one can be this stupid…
Well…a couple of things came up in the news this morning that raises questions about how stupid ole Mitt really is…and this is such a good one…as you probably know, there was an incident on Ann Romney’s plane the other day with smoke in the cabin that forced an emergency landing…no one was hurt but poor Ann’s eyes were watering…and guess what ole Mitt’s response was? His response was to question why aircraft don’t have roll down windows so outside air can be let into the cabin…you must be laughing at this one…I know I did…let’s get a nice 500 mile an hour wind into the cabin after everything is pushed out the window by the pressure…what an ignorant idiot…there really is outside air in all aircraft cabins…it is called an air mask and they have one for every seat on the plane…oh, that’s right…the Romneys never fly commercial so they have never seen the instructions for how to use the air masks…or they let their servants listen to them…not sure which….geez…
September 24th
Well…it was a bad sports day yesterday with everyone that I follow losing…but, it was a no cocktail night so I feel okay this morning…even had really strange dreams that came on after I woke up at 4…I’m not sure if I’m ready to have the weather turn cold since, as you know, I wear shorts until at least Thanksgiving…but, it looks like it is going to be nice for the rest of the week starting tomorrow…I do have some things to do today starting with an oil change for the car…should be pretty easy since the Miata is rear wheel drive and has more room under the hood…and, I will get to some more political ones later in the day if the oil change goes easy…but I do need to work out and get a ride in since I skipped yesterday…

Well…I was going to comment on this one the other day when I read about it but things got away from me and I just remembered it. After the gaffe fest that was the Romney campaign this week, and with even the right attacking the stupidity of ole Mitt, we saw the real Romneys come out in some comments made by Ann…in response to the attacks she said “this is hard..you should get out here and try this…”…and I agree, it is hard…but the tone that was in her voice just made me ill…the desperate whinings of one of the privileged that finally got a taste of life where you have to work for what you want; not have it given to you at every turn…I for one, am sick of the victim shroud that the rich repubs wrap themselves in whenever they are challenged, when one of their lessers refuses to play the role that the rich think they should. This just goes along with another statement that Ann made earlier in the campaign, that is was “their turn” to have the presidency….I can’t wait until we don’t have to listen to these folks anymore…geez…
September 23rd
Well…didn’t get to a second one yesterday and I’m not sure why…I have been feeling a little under the weather for a couple of days and I’m not sure if it is allergies or a cold…I do know I have been coughing like crazy since yesterday and I can feel that there is congestion in my lungs…so, I may take the day of from riding today and just kind of rest…have been having this weird dream lately where I’m at a huge banquet but by the time I get ready to eat, all the food is gone…not sure what the heck that means but at least I’m dreaming again….I did get the BTN back yesterday but I kind of wish I didn’t…Michigan looked like crap last night and I’m not sure how many more of the games I will watch…I do need to clean today but I am not sure I’m going to do that, either…I may just do a total veg and see how I feel later…and I will try to get back here for one more at least but the F1 race is on right now and I need more coffee and to watch it…more later…
September 22nd
Well….it was another day yesterday and I find that I am becoming addicted to the news shows again…it has been a couple of years since I’ve really watched them and it might be a function of the election or that there is just not anything else on…but, today should be different with lots of sports to see and maybe one of the kids coming into town to hang out for a while. Slept okay last night without melatonin so maybe it doesn’t work for me either…couldn’t see the Michigan game last week since it was on BTN and the idiots at Dish are pulling another AMC on us…I can’t wait to find a job and buy a house so I can dump it and get back to cable…not much to do today…F1 qualifying is on in a couple of minutes and then out on the bike before it starts to rain again…no cooking today since I made shrimp fettucine yesterday and the leftovers are calling my name…I wonder if it would be good for breakfast? More later…
