Well…I wonder what I’m going to do on the weekends when soccer and football are over? Today started out well with Wolves and Leictester City going at it in a really good game and Wolves winning it 4-3 in the last minute of stoppage time…very entertaining….and now we have Man U playing Brighton and Man U has started out okay but no score yet…then we have Michigan trying to keep their unbeaten streak going in basketball against Wisconsin at noon…and then the NFL playoffs later in the aft…so, I’ve got a day of less boredom than normal and that really is something to look forward to…and, next weekend is the 24 hours of Daytona that I hope I have the channels to watch…so, for at least the next two weekends, I have something do…along with riding as soon as the parts get here…so, back to sports…more later…

January 19th
Well…damn, slept pretty well last night and didn’t get up until 6:35…after getting up for the first time at 4:30 that is…but I’ll take it anytime…and I’m going to knock on wood this morning with there being no pain in my shoulder at all, just a little stiffness and that is welcome after the last month of healing…I do think I’ll wait until Monday to try to work out again since the last time didn’t work out too well…I did get the bike cleaned and ready for some indoor riding….got the computer pick up mounted to read the rear wheel and now I just have to wait until the rest of the parts get here to get started riding indoors…I am going to miss the scenery going by but I am not going to miss being so careful in the snow and ice…and I am also not going to miss being cold and not being able to warm up all day after a ride….I did get to cook yesterday and made a mushroom sauce to go with rice and chicken and it came out pretty good…but the rice has come out sticky the past two times I’ve done it in the instant pot but I think I’ve figured that out for the next time…going to make chicken stir fry to use some of the rice for lunch today but that is about all I have to do…I did clean a little yesterday and will probably do some more today but we’ll see…soccer starts in about 15 minutes so that and coffee is the only thing I want to think about right now….more later….
Think I’ve got a cold…
Well…have been trying to figure out why I’ve been so exhausted the past couple of days and I think I’ve figured it out…I think I have a cold…not coughing yet but have a little sore throat and I’m a little warm…but mostly, I’m just so damn tired and have no energy at all…I think I’ve been eating enough but I’m not sure about that…hmmmm…the bike trainer came today…yay! It wasn’t supposed to get here until Tuesday so that is pretty cool…but, I can’t use it until the new rear axle gets here that replaces the quick release one that’s on it now for one that fits into the hold downs….and I bought a molded block for the front tire that will raise the front so it won’t feel like I’m going down hill all the time. I don’t think the magnetic drag is going to be enough for me so I have rigged up a rubber band that will use the rear brake to supply drag and make me work harder…and I am going to use some poster putty to locate the computer pickup on the inside of the rear caliper so I can still know how far I’ve ridden…will have to keep these miles separate so I can know how many miles I’ve really ridden…I’ve already gotten to 130 for the year and that was s good start….kinda looking forward to trying the new toy…

Well…cripes, this is what I get from watching Gotham and The Orville last night instead of watching Rachel…a bombshell report from Buzzfeed lays it out that there is testimony and evidence that the idiot trump told Michael Cohen to lie to congress about his trump tower project in Moscow that trump constantly lied about and said he had “no business in Russia”. So, what does this mean? To me, and to everyone else who is not a repub, it means that it is clear that idiot boy suborned perjury…meaning that he directed someone to lie on his behalf…and the second part of that is that this is clear obstruction of justice that has nothing to do with the Mueller investigation but is in addition to it…this also lays bare the leverage that Putin had on trump after trump lied and lied and lied on the campaign trail and even after he was installed as president…and it is exactly the crime that Cohen is going to prison for for more than 3 years. Now we know why trump has been kissing Putin’s ass for so long and why he has destroyed our middle east foreign policy to help Putin…he was scared that Putin would reveal that he was a criminal, and this is just normal spycraft for the Russians that they have used for years and Putin is an expert at it. So, the end is finally coming and I expect there will be articles of impeachment filed before the end of the month or idiot boy will resign…but, this won’t be the end for trump…Pence may pardon him for federal crimes, but there are so many state investigations going on of trump and his businesses that it appears he will spend the rest of his life in prison…along with his children who are neck deep in all of this, too…good riddance…impeach…
January 18th
Well…damn, woke up this morning with pain in my right Achilles tendon and I’m not sure how that happened…but it hurts to walk and the only thing I can figure is that I hurt it on the bike ride yesterday…slept okay last night…kind of…but my left shoulder woke me up with pain and who the hell knows what that is about…I am getting a little frustrated by the whole pain thing but at least my right shoulder appears to be improving so I guess that’s something…but, I did have to take something for the pain last night so we’ll see if it’s improved enough to stop that today…it does look like yesterday was the last riding day until spring and, with how cold I got on the bike yesterday, that’s okay with me…will get back to riding Tuesday when the trainer gets here…didn’t get a lot done yesterday and today looks about the same but I am going to clean a little around here…that’s needs to happen since I made the mistake of leaving my glasses on when I was cooking yesterday…the kitchen looks okay without them but not with them….so that will be the goal today….more later…
Not a bad day…
Well…finally got back on the bike today for a normal ride but it was still icy out there and had to be very careful…I may be able to get out tomorrow but, if I do, it looks like the last ride until spring with the snow that is coming and the cold, cold temps that are coming with it. So, I savored the ride today but am looking forward to getting the the bike stand next week and trying that for the rest of the winter…I did get the grocery run done today and stocked up the food for the weekend and I’m going to make a new mushroom sauce to go with rice and chicken tomorrow…something I’ve never made before but with how good the alfredo came out, I feel pretty good that I can figure that out, too…oh, I talked about that this morning, didn’t I? Okay, won’t bore you with it anymore…I had a nagging feeling that I had a coolant leak in the car but I checked it today after topping it off a few weeks back and it is still full…but, I did tighten the upper clamp on the radiator hose since it was a little loose and I may check the rest of them tomorrow before the cold weather comes in Sunday…but, I’m not going to worry about it any more…all in all, it was a pretty good day but the bike ride left me sore after being off for a few days…so, I’ll probably take something for the shoulder and the rest of the pain tonight…and then settle in for a veg night since there is new tv on tonight….is it cocktail time yet?
Millions more Dem voters…
Well…with the rest of the stupidity that the repubs are famous for lately, they just aren’t recognizing what the shutdown is doing for their electoral chances in 2020. There are many, many districts across the country that the repubs barely won even though the lied, cheated, and stole through gerrymandering that are now going to be in play with the millions of people are being screwed by the idiot trump’s government shutdown having any sort of memory. That includes turtle McConnell who is still counting on the calculus that his base is enough to get him re-elected…but he is just flat wrong. The media is now starting to finally shitcan the both siderism that has allowed the adults on the left to be equated with the idiots on the right and our side is starting to understand that you can’t deal with the repubs…they just need to be destroyed for the good of the country and idiot boy is helping with that destruction due to his ignorance an stupidity. We just need to stay strong and united in opposing the Russiafication of this country by the repub traitors…and impeach the sonofabitch as soon as possible….and welcome these new voters to our side and let them know that we are the party that values the dignity of work and workers…and will protect them when the repubs won’t…impeach…
January 17th
Well…decided to run a little early today and get this done before I go out for groceries in a little while…and part of that is that I am already starting to get bored and needed to fill the time before I go…I did sleep last night but it was with a lot of tossing and turning but I didn’t hurt my shoulder so that is a plus…just a little pain today and I even slept on my shoulder some…I still woke up for the first time at 4:37, though, and that is a little annoying…would just love to sleep through the night just once a month….I did get a few things done yesterday with running a couple of errands and even getting the car washed since it really needed salt removal but it appears that we are going to have some snow this weekend that will coat it again…and it’s going to be cold so it will be some hunker down time again…I did get 10 pounds more chicken for about 9 bucks yesterday and I am going to try to get creative with new recipes to use it…I am going to make some thighs and rice with mushroom sauce in the instant pot Sat and I am just winging that recipe…building on the Alfredo sauce I made earlier in the week and that may be fun….might even try to get out on the trails today for the last time this winter since my new trainer for the bike is coming Tuesday and I’ll be riding indoors until the weather breaks….more later…
Nancy shivs the idiot…
Well…to everyone who didn’t want Nancy Pelosi as speaker of the house after last fall’s election, the only thing I have to say is open your eyes an watch a master at work. Yesterday, Nancy sent a letter to idiot boy saying that trump’s State of the Union address should be postponed until after the shutdown is over due to “security” concerns with many of the people who would be responsible out on furlough due to the shutdown. Now, this is just a masterstroke and uses the speaker’s power in a new and novel way to make the point that trump is not the one in control anymore…and that he is not getting a dime for his damn, racist wall any time soon. One neat little point that was made in the letter was that, historically, there has never been a SOTU address during a shutdown…and she even stressed the fact that most of the SOTU reports were done by letters until the 20th century…basically saying that trump could do the same thing. Now, taking away idiot boy’s chance to be the center of attention is just the best response that could have been given to the narcissistic asshole for the damage his shutdown is having on the country and I applaud Nancy for playing hardball with him….he just doesn’t understand that things have changed and his bullyboy ways just aren’t going to go anymore…get the popcorn….
Engler needs to go…
Well…if you didn’t already know, after the Nassar sex abuse scandal at Michigan State…former governor John Engler was brought in to try to fix the problems that allowed the scandal to happen…at the outset, I was aghast that they would bring that asshole in to try to fix anything…in his 8 years as governor, Engler did nothing but attack his “enemies” and reward his cronies and try to sow division across the state so he could take political advantage of what he created. I was directly involved in some of his bullshit when meeting in his office in my role as a parent lobbyist for the Kentwood school system where he tried to play the urban and suburban school districts against each other. He flat out lied to us face to face about what the effects of Proposal A would be on schools in Michigan and laughed at our concern for our kids. So now, people are surprised that his doing the same thing at State where he has said that the sexual abuse victims were “enjoying the spotlight” that was focused on one of the biggest abuse crimes in the state’s history. I agree with MSU board member Brian Mosallam when he said that “John Engler’s reign of terror is over” and I hope it is…what a useless excuse for a human being Engler is…
